Beautiful trail! My boyfriend and I took advantage of the cool weather and I’m so happy we picked Ferndale Preserve. We saw tons of wildlife and the views of the water are incredible. Definitely going back!

Nice place to take a walk. Can see the lake from several areas. Some of the areas can be a little wet during rainy season or Sandy but most of the trails are dry and level.Just be aware there are snakes and can be alligators. Playground area and also restrooms. Nice parking. But dogs are not allowed on trail. There are horse trails also.

Beautiful preserve and hard to believe your in Florida. Reminded us of discovery park by Mt Rainier even given the elevation overlooking lake Apopka. Peaceful, great nature fix! Wouldn’t recommend in the summer given much of the trails without the canopy of trees. Very nice playground for the kids at the end of the trails.

This is a beautiful nature park that is very well kept and still hold on to Floridas natural side. It is a historic site as well. There is a great playground and walking trails suitable for all families to take a break from technology and experience nature right in our backyards.

Ferndale preserve is a very nice and quiet nature walk. There is also a childrens playground very close to parking. The entrance is well marked and adequate parking available. Although pavers begin your walk, it quickly turns to a fine sand. I would highly recommend something other than sandals for your feet.

My son and I enjoyed the Archeology and History Hike led by Justin & Quincey. They were professional and knowledgeable but also very personable and friendly. Definitely a must-do to learn about local history!

Great little piece of nature in restoration in the West Apopka lake area. They have horse, bike and hiking trail with beautiful views of the lake and a nice variety of wild life. Parking, bathrooms and playground is in the trailhead. Totally worth for a short (30 to 120 minutes) hiking.

When I went the trail was completely torn up, looked like with some sort of machinery. I just about killed myself. I dont think Ill try hiking here again.

This out-of-the-way park is cery clean and well-organized. There were nice educational boards under a gazebo describing the past and present flora and fauna throughout the preserve. The trails were clearly marked and clean; there were trails for hikes, bikes, and horses. There were plenty of climbing toys and swings for kids from tots to preteen. And the the bathrooms were fairly clean, despite being outhouses. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this park!

Another great place for bird diversity. Special guides that know the area, and just where to see a bird that may be on your life list. Trails are maintained quite well, even after Hurricane Irma went through there. A lot of clean up of the trails was required. We did not have to take any detours.

196 acre preserve is located on the western shoe of Lake Apopka. Has hiking, biking (unpaved), and equestrian trails, a playground, and restroom. High point is 168 above sea level and on clear day Orlando skyline is visible. The preserve is best known for its birding with over 190 species of bird on its checklist. It also has great dragonfly and butterfly viewing.
