I love this place! Everyone from the owner to the bar staff to the disc jockey James are all friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed and it is a great place to vibe with a drink. The live music is a great way to wind down a hard work day or to smooth over a Saturday night. Food is good, but Im a vegetarian and so I havent explored the entire menu. All in all, if you are looking for a place to relax with a drink and mellow out to nice music, this is the place for you.

Phil made up a delicious chai tea for my friend and I. He told us to check the place out and come back for some lovely jazz that evening. He was extremely friendly and welcome, which is a nice touch to the blossoming changes going on around the Walnut Hills in community. I will definitely be stopping back in.

I am excited to come back for jazz. Would be a cool place for a casual date night. Im excited its open & will be back.

Took a walk over here after lunch today because the food and summer heat was making me sleepy and a friend recommended the coffee here (and the jazz in the evenings). First of all, beautiful place with an intriguing menu; I wanted to try everything including the alcoholic drinks. Secondly, service here was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I ordered their marigold mocha latte and Sly (new barista, seasoned bartender) told me he hadnt made one before so we were both a little nervous. I got it go and was just rounding the corner outside, enjoying this delicious drink that tasted like no other coffee I had ever had, when I hear someone yelling for me to wait. I turned around and Sly had RUN out to tell me that he forgot to put the espresso in my drink (no wonder it tasted so delicious). He literally went out of his way to make sure my drink was good, and took it back in to add the espresso and top it off. He even offered to make me a new one. It was somehow EVEN better when he added the espresso, and between the drink and the service, I am so touched and impressed. Go here!!

This place is a nice venue but deceptive regarding covers. They charged a cover at the end of the night on our bill which wasn’t advertised at the door, wasn’t listed online (even though covers for other nights were listed) and wasn’t listed on their events board (again, where covers are listed for some nights but not on the night we attended). It would be appreciated if they were more honest and transparent about their cover charges.

Very cool place. Coffee shop by day, local live jazz and crafted cocktails by night! You can make reservations ahead to guarantee a seat. There is a cover charge and a $10 drink minimum but the fantastic music and nice vibe negates this. Went there and heard a Cuban-Caribbean jazz band which were phenomenal. Can’t wait to stop in during the day and grab an espresso!

Pretty great all around. The reseeverations were a hassle for the staff to deal with and some people were seated with their friends who didnt have reservations while others who were there longer waited. We had a great experience overall but I do think they should look into some issues they have.

Had an adult date night here. Great atmosphere! The band was entertaining and the front man was very charismatic and funny! The service was a bit on the slow side. The $10 drink minimum and a $10 dollar cover was a double whammy also lol. Otherwise a great time definitely wanting to go back ASAP.

Bartender was very slow and rude! She said we were to loud even though we were mindful of the small and nearly empty room. If you plan on going, plan on not talking period. What a shame because its a cute place and the band wasnt bad. Now we know why it was nearly empty on a friday night.

The band was good. Nice atmosphere. Modern yet cozy. The $5 cover collection process was a bit confusing for a first timer. Both owner and waitress were very nice and personable. Limited appetizers but they looked good. Warm (peanut butter chocolate chip) cookies were delicious. Beer selection and Mules were good. The Mule with the spiced rum was much better then the Bill Berry. Nice place.

Fantastic live jazz here - but come early. Warm and intimate, but there is a cover and a two-drink minimum per person. Drinks are reasonable and they provide table service. Small price to pay for all the enjoyment you will receive. Only parking is on McMillan or Kemper. Neighborhood is reasonably safe and well-patrolled but be aware of your surroundings after datk

Friendly staff. The decor is warm and the view is nice. The place is very small so only about 25 ppl fit so things are very snug. Remember there is now a $10 cover charge( no drink included) now on Saturdays and reservations are strongly encouraged. There is a vegetarian dish available on the limited menu, African peanut soup and some breakfast items. The local jazz talent is here regularly.

Had a really great time here Saturday night. Live music was incredible, blew us away! We had reserved seats (barstools) and showed up 30 minutes early to claim. Once the show started, the emcee stressed that it was a show to listen to (implication, no talking) and said we could move to any open spots, so we ended up with way better seats (chairs with backs)! Got an oat milk latte and a pb & choc chunk cookie and was pleased with both. The staff was super attentive and very professional. Even came around and put little tealights on the tables to set the mood. Very intimate setting once the show started, a perfect date night. Thanks! We will be back!Only critique would be to add more vegan-friendly options to the menu. Burritos were sold out. :(

It was just ok.THE GOOD: Environment is eclectic and they have good bands and nice service. It also pulls in a decent class of people- mellow, no drama, (but mostly elderly people).THE BAD: The fact that you have to make reservations, and the row seating makes it kind of stuffy and doesnt allow you to be social with other people there. Everyone just kinda keeps to themselves and stares at only the band playing. Its fairly disengaging. Also, extremely small food selection and what they had wasnt very good. The food, cover charge, and drinks were on the pricey side: $8 for a half glass of moscato, $10 for admission, & $10 for some weird tasting flat bread thing with hardly anything on it. Oh, and they have a $10 drink minimum.... as if the cost of their drinks and admission werent enough. If this is your kinda thing, then go for it.

Quick summary: Caffe Vivace is a coffee shop and jazz lounge in Walnut Hills next to Just Qin. They are offer a few breakfast sandwiches and cheese plates, a small coffee menu, wine, and beer. Their window paint mentions specialty cocktails as well. On nights with jazz, there is a $10 drink minimum. You can find the events via Facebook (Wed-Sat). Wifi. There are a lot of tables: stools at the window, high top, regular, and some cushioned seats. Background jazz. The lighting is very dim, but they have large windows that wrap the corner of McMillan and Kemper. The coffee menu is simple. I dont see any seasonal drinks or matcha or cortados and they only mention a few flavors for their latte. So if you dont like the taste of coffee, this might not be your spot. You can get a drip for $2 and $1 refills if you are staying.

Caffè VivaceCaffè Vivace is a coffee house by day and a jazz lounge by night. It provides a space for Cincinnatians to gather, work, socialize and herald the musical art form of Jazz. Founded by Brent Gallaher and Vanessa Keeton with the goal of bringing a full-time jazz listening venue back to the Queen City, they paired it with a second passion for artisan coffee giving the residents of and visitors to Walnut Hills and the surrounding Cincinnati neighborhoods a place to grab their morning brew, hang out and work on their computers, or gather with friends over craftsman-quality coffee, espresso beverages, or even an alcoholic libation. As the workday draws to a close, patrons can stay and listen to our areas finest local jazz musicians, young and old, as well as the occasional regionally or nationally known artists.
