I always enjoy these little national historical sites. I learn so much about people and places. Well worth a little stop if you’re interested in history.

This museum has good exhibits about the life of William Howard Taft. It’s made up of a visitor center, which I thought was good, and William Howard Taft’s house, which I thought was also good. They both had exhibits about his life, which I found to be pretty good. His house looked very good, being yellow and having windows with green shutters. Personally, I wouldn’t mind living there myself. The site is conveniently located on Auburn Hill not to far from downtown Cincinnati. When driving down auburn hill to downtown Cincinnati, you get some really nice views of the city skyline, which is nice.

Another cool home to come visit of a previous president would highly highly suggest coming in the morning. Just note due to COVID-19 the gift shop and other place says are closed but still a beautiful day trip. Make sure that you go around to the back there is plenty of parking in the designated park for the national historic park

What a great site for the nicest President! Limited area to see because of the virus, but the Park Ranger was super nice and full of info. Did the Junior Ranger tour! Hand sanitizer everywhere and spaced tours for safety:)

Pretty cool stop if youre in Cincinnati. Staff were very knowledgeable and able to answer all questions. The site is free to visit and plan to spend approximately a couple hrs to take it in.

Beautiful residence and well maintained. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable as well. Well worth the visit to learn things about an underrated political figure.

This was a nice little tour we did on our way out of Ohio. To our surprise, the tour was free and the tour guide knew quite a bit about William Taft. she was able to answer the entire groups questions and provide numerous facts and history about not only the building, but of the former president himself. The tour was not too long, maybe half an hour or so and we then were able to have free range to read the material in the house.

We enjoyed seeing the house. They were set up with COVID precautions. I was able to get my Passport Stamp right when I walked up!

Always nice to do something educational and fun on fall break. Learned a lot about our past president. Very friendly National Park Rangers giving the tour. Highly recommend.

Fascinating house. Excellent ranger guides. Visitor center exhibits seemed to be in transition so there werent many.

We didnt get to go in because of Covid-19. But well definitely go back once open!

For history buffs this historical site is outstanding, for others it might be boring. Ample parking is available. There is a small visitor center. Park rangers conduct the tour of the Taft house. I found the guides extremely knowledgeable. Answered questions on the house and President Taft life. The visit takes about one hours. Google maps was excellent for directions to the site.

Not handicapped accessible. No ranger to explain things. No signs in rooms to tell you what youre seeing. Glad it was free.

Great place to visit! The tour guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. I learned lots of new facts about Taft that I never knew. My 8yo son enjoyed the 30 minute tour. He completed his Junior Ranger badge pretty quickly. The tour is not too long or too short, its just right. The parking area is small, we almost missed it. But it doesnt seem to get very crowded. There is an elevator inside the house to get from one floor to the next, but there is a tall set of steps to get to the front porch.

Very surprising museum. It is free and well worth the trip. Im sure nobody knows anything about William Taft, but he was an interesting guy.

Plan to spend 1 to 1.5 hours.  Parking is difficult.  Its more of a museum than house since only 2 rooms are reproduction of rooms.  The rest are museum/info rooms, but a good mixture.Always get the ranger tour, so much knowledge! Otherwise this is a 3 star attraction

This is a great place to learn about an extraordinary man, his family, and life. The house is well kept and the rangers are very knowledgeable and friendly.

There was tons of information here about president Taft. The park rangers were very good and had an answer for every question.

I thought the home was large but spartan for a wealthy family. I like frugal. The vistors center offers a video. The center is small. The Taft family were movers and shakers in politics, but also in service to country and community. The museum covers the whole family history.

Great park away from the busy. Rangers were generous in answering questions, showing the video, and even gave a very infornative tour. A must for anyone interested in history. This was a real gem!

The ranger who led our tour was well-informed and kept us engaged. I believe his name was Seth.

I liked call William Howard Taft museumthe only thing I did not like was that they changed the color from white to Brown the last time I was in there the place had a porch on it I guess they have their reasons the museum was fairly interesting to told about Tafts life historythough I must say theres not very much to look at theyve got little odds and ends things to look at and the building is pretty interestingI like Im alone movie that they show you when you go into the office next door to the museum like I say its pretty interesting

I love national parks/historic sites but I was a little hesitant about visiting here. All I knew about Taft was that he was a one-term president and had a special bathtub. But I learned SO much about him today thanks to Ruth. She was one of the kindest and most knowledgeable people I have EVER met and I left with a greater appreciation for rangers, President Taft, and some great trivia as well. As weird as it sounds, this is a must-see in Cincinnati.

So interesting learning about an important family to Ohio and the national. All free!

Disappointing renovation of the house compared to other presidential sites, although the tour guide (ranger) knew his stuff and was quite entertaining too!

The birthplace is a monument to President Taft but also to his entire family that left a legacy of impressive public service, six generations of Tafts.

Well made exhibit for this historic site. I really enjoyed how the house was split into two parts with it preserved as it would have looked when he lived there on the first floor, and mueseum style displays on the second floor. Our tour guide was great and clearly was well educated on everything Taft and enjoyed sharing this. We really enjoyed our time here! Would recommend to anyone who enjoys history or period decorated houses

The William Howard Taft National Historical site is located in Cincinnati Ohio at 2038 Aurburn Avenue, it is the birth place of the 27th president of the United States.The building which was constructed in the early 1840s and purchased by the Taft family in 1851. William Howard Taft was born in the home in September, 1857, the second child of Alfonso and Louise Taft.

We were going through Cincinnati on a trip and decided to see a few places while we were there. We arrived after most of the sites were closed for the day but we were still able to see and photography them. Weve seen locations of several presidents and can now add this one to the list. It looked well preserved and the landscaping was beautiful too.

This small historical site was both interesting and informative. The staff was enthusiastic which made the experience even better. The visit will take you less than an hour even if you read all the exhibits, watch the film, and tour the house.

Only downside is that the parking lot is rather small. 8 cars max. The ranger was very helpful and informative. Be sure to bring your National Parks passport book!!! If you dont have one be sure to get one!!! Its addicting!!!

Convenient location right next to 2020 jail.

Very enjoyable! Ranger led us on a tour of the birth home of Taft and told stories which she knew inside and out. There is a nice museum with a solid 14 minute informational movie. Would recommend a visit!

This was the first presidential home I have visited and wasnt expecting much, but to my surprise, I spent over 2 hours here listening to the tour guide, which let us in personally into most rooms and all the displays, packed with a lot of information.Highly recommended, even if not a huge president fan. A cool way to step into history.

Would like to have been given a little more information about his family. This just wasnt the best park that weve visited.

Everything about history I love and I think we should preserve I also think we have to learn from the past in order not to repeat our mistakes in the future

A great tour guide and museum.

This was our first stamp in our national park passport and it couldnt have been a better experience. We travel with our five year old who has no concept of the importance of some of the things we have seen. The park rangers here were more than accommodating to his age appropriate questions.

High atop one of Cincinnatis most prominent hilltops stands the two-story Greek Revival house where William Howard Taft was born and grew up. Hard work, a good education, and an interest in civic duty are attributes that made the Taft family outstanding leaders over the years. We learned a lot about President Taftand his family. It is free to go and worthwhile!

Much more about Taft to learn than I heard had ever heard before. Staff at the exhibit were friendly and knowledgeable. If you are in the area it is worth it for a quick 1-2 hour visit.

Very entertaining for locals and visitors alike. Its not every day you get to learn about the only man to ever be the head of two branches of government. If you like history, its worth taking a look at. The family house is the best part!

The Rangers are very good with small children. Took a 2nd grader there and she loved it.

The 15 minute video was very informative and helped me appreciate the house more. After the video we took a tour of the house with a ranger, she was super nice and very knowledgeable! The house is worth a visit!

Free to park and get in also came with a tour which was nice. There was memorabilia of his years in governmental service and presidential years. The house was restored to what it looked liked in the 1800s.

This is the house the family grew up in. Theres a lot of small things packed into a small place . if youre truly into history and or politics you will like it. A guide showed us around downstairs and told us about the family then we just wandered around looking at the political momentos

This is a great national park site, not hard to get to from I-71 & well worth the visit. The ranger staff is excellent, museum & tour of Tafts home are a fun and rewarding experience. Plan to spend a little under 2 hours when you visit. There is plenty of parking behind the main buildings & a few spaces in front.

Wonderful piece of history

The guide did not give my group a tour. We had to tour on our own. I noticed other groups had a guide giving them information. We werre only shown the movie.

Beautiful home for the Taft family under the auspices of the National Park Service

I am an avid history buff especially with us presidents. Unfortunately online made this seem like a lot more than what it was. We drove several hours to check this out because we only heard great things. The museum took about 15 minutes to see everything, not counting the movie which was nice. The tour was extremely boring which always makes me sad because history is fascinating and can be presented in a lot more exciting fashion. We actually left before the tour was finished because we were falling asleep standing up. Just too much rambling and a disinterested host.

I knew very little about Taft until I visited this museum. Most certainly, he was a remarkable man of integrity that served our country. I am a bit disappointed that he initiated the income tax, but it was a small fraction then as compared to today, so I guess Ill give him a pass. I highly recommend the museum. Friendly and helpful tour guides. The museum is Tafts childhood home and its free!

Had driven near the area many times , but never really appreciated the excellently restored Taft home. Worth a stop to learn about this surprising outstanding American , & his life . Over his many years of public service, he served in many roles & had significant positive impact on our nation in many ways ... His one term presidency was just small part of his legacy , which included him serving 10 years as US Supreme Court Chief Justice till the end of his life .See the movie to give perspective . NPS tour guides do good showing the house & filling in the story

Very interesting place! A lot of history of the house and family- very informative tour of the house from the life of Alfonso Taft, (President Tafts father) who built the house to the life of William Howard Taft from childhood all the way to being one of the Supreme Court Justices.

Free Presidential site tour offered seven days each week.

Wanted to learn about Taft but it was closed when I went. For shame.

The experience introduced to a president that is not talked about as often as others. Additionally, the tour of the house was thorough and informative on the life of the president as well as period pieces and life in Cincinnati.

AMAZING the Rangers here go above and beyond to inform the tourist about American presidential history.

Very nice visitor center. Tour was interesting and can be tailored to the tour group. With children, the tour guide made sure to be efficient.

We were passing through Cincinnati and decided to visit this national historic site. It was worth the trip. The US park ranger gave us a tour of the home and it was outstanding. Dont miss this presidential home.
