I grew up a good portion of my life coming and going from this specific area alone. Whether it was to have movie nights with family or we had bday parties at California kitchen. There were lots of places to check out. Sadly though things change. I probably wont visit nearly as much seeing as theater is likely going to shutdown. Even some food stores have gone out of business :(. But I still like it for what it does still offer

I have visited this movie theater a few times and have no complaints. It is smaller than other AMC movie theaters near this location. Snacks and food are good.

So glad the theater open up again. We felt very safe. The theater was clean, had sanitizing wipes available and followed social distancing recommendations. Popcorn was a must.

This is a good theater. In the middle of the outdoor mall. Lots of parking.We’ve gone here for years to see movies with the kids. The recent updates including assigned seats are great. No more standing in long lines for the show.We’ve recently begun taking advantage of ordering concessions ahead of time. This makes it so easy, we just order, walk in and pickup our food. It’s in bags with your name on it. Simple.We love AMC

Fantastic experience and friendly atmosphere at AMC Otay Ranch 12. We love coming to the Otay Ranch area movies. Very clean and upbeat and family friendly. I highly recommend this movie theater to the surrounding communities and families.

My family and I attended the 7:00pm showing of the rise of Skywalker.Everything was outstanding great time.The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was how easy it was to sneak in without a ticket.My daughter was never asked for her ticket, she just walked in. I was asked for my ticket only because I approached the attendant,who was sitting down, to ask where the restroom was located.Other than that we had a great time.

Since the consistent method of selecting your seats in advance, Ive enjoyed going to the movies a lot more. I like being able to know in advance where Ill be, and it prevents the rush to get a good seat.The restrooms here are constantly under-maintained, but I know the staff is doing the best they can. The theaters get destroyed by popcorn- they focus on a clean theater vs a spotless restroom.Please turn your cell phones off. Seriously, a tiny bit of consideration for the others in the room goes a long way!

Very comfy. We had some AMC rewards that made snacks very inexpensive. My one complaint is we wanted a glass of wine and at1:45, it was apparently to early!

I was expecting better seats..(All of the AMC theaters I have been to have recliners), not this one. But movie itself was good. Comfortable and clean in the theater.

Went to a 9 PM showing and during the movie discovered the amenities close at 10 PM, bar and concessions. Ladies, ahem the bathrooms too. Will not go back.I do like the option of selecting seats but no reclining seats are offered. Better to just drive to Del Mar or for a closer option Theater Box in the Gaslamp. Apparently Chula Vista cannot have nice things.

The AMC app makes everything much easier to purchase and enjoy movies! Love that this AMC has reserved seating now. Free popcorn on my birthday!

Wasted opportunityUpdates 1/3120 where is the “Just Mercy” !!Didn’t play queen of slim either.AMC movie Theater at a mall but its hours are garbage. On Thursday nights the last movie is grudge at 0830pm. The movie has a f rating and that’s all they have for the entire night. . AMC 10 on west Chula Vista is showing the premier for 1917 and about 10 other good movies until 1030pm. What’s the point of a theater if all the movies are garbage and they close early throughout the weekend. Evaluate your showings and play movies after the sun goes down. They didn’t even play queen and Slim but have Cats and grudge, great job. Staff and stuff is cool, but the content is a mess.

Long lines at concession stand .. movie time list online is actually 15 later than what was playing.. and why do you not have reclining chairs.... your definitely behind the times in that department.

I like how we get to pick our seats and not worry about getting a good spot when late.

This is the second time Ive come to this AMC and theres hardly any concessions stands ready. No popcorn and its already 10:45am. Movie starting at 11am and nothing. Plus the previous time I came not only was the popcorn, pretzels, etc. not ready but they were only accepting cash because the system was apparently down.This use to be my favorite AMC and now Im embarrased to recommend it.Good note: Parking is good and the ticket price is not bad for matinee

Theater is good, but my online order only was half there. It took 20 minutes to get my pizza after it was supposed already be ready

We went on Friday to watch Avengers: Endgame. Reserving your seats is kind of nice, but you come to expect nice seats when you reserve. This is definitely not the case. By nice, I am referring to the physical seat itself, not the location, since you pick that. The numbers on the seats are tiny, almost like they were an after-thought. I cant imagine finding your seat in the dark, when the movie has begun. When we got there, it seemed kind of stuffy in the hallways, and once inside the theater, #12 it was even worse. I asked someone if something could be done about the A/C, and the person I asked radioed for something to be done. She stated to me that they said copy, indicating yes. Nothing was done the whole movie. It had to be on, because i imagine it could have been worse, but it must have been set to 80 or 82. It was very warm in there. I nearly started sweating. The backs of my legs were definitely sweating. At about 11:35 when the movie was about to end, it seemed as though the A/C kicked on. Are they trying to save money at the expense of their customers? We are never going here again.

If I buy a movie ticket for my child to see an R-rated movie, then I should be allowed to. I shouldnt have to join him in order for him to be allowed to watch it....smh

I loved it when I saw the Adams family and when I booked it when I got there it was empty and I was so happy

This is a nicer, standard AMC theatre. Its on the newer side, and its pretty clean. The lobby and hallways feel cramped, so theres not much space to walk around. The seats are fine, and the sound and quality were good. The auditoriums are not large throughout, but a few of them are large.

The screen in Auditorium 1 is stained with black streaks that muddy the image and pull you out of the story whenever they become visible (which is often).This is the second time I have noticed this at an AMC. They need to better maintain their screens.

The house with a clock in the wall was a great movie, the story was good, the casting was good, up until I saw the movie I had thought it was part of the harry potter cinematic universe but no its a stand alone movie. Careful though, some scenes have a bunch of creepy dolls as uncle Johnathan has a room full of them. 5 stars 10/10 would reccomend again- O===[]======>

This AMC has always been great. Clean bathrooms every time weve gone. No complaints about concessions. Clean theaters. This AMC also has one of those coke machines where you can mix almost any flavor imaginable.Recently we went to see a foreign anime with subtitles. The movie was misaligned and the subtitles werent even in the screen. AMC staff quickly resolved the issue and restarted the film.I recommend signing up for their Stubs rewards program. Youll earn money back on all your purchases, plus free refills on popcorn, and other special deals.

Love this place. .comfortable settings make it enjoyable for me. . They just recently added a small bar for a quick glass of wine, prior to seeing a movie.

Its nice cozy, has plenty of parking also many restaurants near by...a bit expensive.

Premiers and big movies are great to watch at this location since there typically is low traffic. The theaters are clean. Their on tap selection is good too.

I love that we have a community movie theater that offers. They offer many showings from morning to night, the theaters are spacious with comfortable seating, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Its rarely too crowded, which gives me confidence that usually I can find a good seat. The only complaint would be the womens bathroom. Its typically a mess with toilets stopped up, toilet paper on the floor, and water (urine?) on the floor, even after the 10am showings that I usually go to. However, the last time I went, about 2 weeks ago, the womens bathroom was clean and orderly. If that continues, I will definitely change my review to 5 stars.

I really hope this gets resolved soon. I went to AMC hoping to give my daughter the same experience I received when I was younger. When I was at the ticket booth, I asked them if they had any kids movies, The person at the counter recommended 9 Lives. So Thats the movie I purchased a ticket for. About ten or fifteen minutes into the movie I realized that it was a bad movie choice due to my daughter being so young. I walked back to the counter to return the movie and thats when a young lady told me very politely that she was unable to issue a refund due to some 30 minute policy. We did the math and it was only a few minutes past the time frame for refund. The young lady asked me to wait so she can get the manager to assist. The manager right away said he can only issue a pass. I told him that I didnt want the pass, I needed my refund. He then told me he wasnt going to give me anything if I didnt want the pass. I told him I didnt want the pass. He then rudely continued in Saying that he had things to do so I either take the pass or leave with nothing. I asked him if he was serious and He walked away. I asked for his name and He declined to disclose it. Another person approached me and I asked for the managers name. She stated that it was Matt but was not aware of his last name. The manager came back and again said he can issue a pass or give me nothing. Now I dont even have a receipt to prove that I purchased a ticket since Matt kept it. Please help me get a refund.

AMC Theaters has really stepped up their game and their location at Otay Ranch Mall is one of their smaller jewels.Perfectly situated at the end of the mall a nice walk from a Barnes & Noble, Cheesecake Factory and other fine restaurants.Recommended highly!!!

Facility is ok, could be a bit cleaner. Service slow at every station. Good thing staff are friendly. Plenty of parking, not easy to access from the street. May or may not return as othe options nearby

Always are ready for big releases and the stubs rewards $5 Tuesday tickets are great with the family. The fountain drink stations help move the lines pretty quickly too.

Decent theater, and probably the nicest in the area. Like any place you go to see a movie everything is pretty pricey. Overall its above average for a theater. Staff is friendly, and parking is easy enough. Grab a bite across the street before hand.

The experience was great besides the 4 teenagers trying to cut in line to buy candy.

This AMC theater is always clean and very well kept and I have to appreciate that although the prices are a little high that is just typical for AMC

Dont want to sound discriminating myself but really I feel that concessions does a very poor job at keeping the General line/Stubs in comparison to the Premier line moving especially when I can see and hear that the people that were on the line Privileged line didnt even read the sign and just got in the line closest to them. There were 3 registers open taking customers when in our side of underpriviledge customers there was a long period of time without even one cashier available. Do the math concessions everyone counts!

We used to come here for convenience even though it is pricey, but no more. The communication within the staff is extremely poor. People will sit in theatres waiting for their movie to start and the staff would never know that the projector isnt working unless people get up and notify them. Another thing is their bar. The bartenders are always really friendly but they do not know how to make drinks. Thats fine, I wouldnt expect serious mixologists there but what I do expect is cleanliness. Last 2 times I went, there were FRUIT FLIES everywhere. Go ahead and google what it means when you have fruit flies in a bar. Especially one that DOESNT have fresh fruit. Get it together. It disgusting.

Overall its one of my favorite theatres. I love $5 ticket Tuesdays with Stubs card. We always use our Stubs card its well worth the money in food and drink upgrades as well as the ticket discount on Tuesdays. I also like the placement of the handicap row in this theatre you still have a decent view of the screen. As well as the floor being carpeted in that area unlike some theatres that are just that cold sticky black cement or linoleum. Its nice if like myself you have a service animal. Negatives, which for me were big ones. Im not sure how often they clean the seats because the one I initially sat next to smelled badly of urine. Bringing me to my biggest negative. The restrooms!! They were filthy! The handicap stall was unusable. The toilet was full to the brim with soggy nasty toilet paper. I had to use a standard stall which left my dog sitting outside my stall waiting for me. While hes well trained and was able to do that it made me horribly uncomfortable. I wasnt able to utilize him to help me up and he wasnt able to do his job. At anytime someone could had tried to pet him or taken him. I was all around unhappy with the situation and it may keep me from returning to this theatre.

Great. Theatre is amazing. Expensive prices... Thats what my dad says. He pays for all the movies. I rate him 5 stars also. The theatre is not even close to the one featured in universal studios but that one was like 50 bucks a ticket so I cant complain there. Overall my dad says expensive prices but good movies.
