They have a huge collection of planes on site for up close view, ranging mostly from Pre-WWII to Korean War & early jet age inclusive of foreign made aircrafts from USSR, Japan & Germany. A large number are fully restored original in flyable condition. P-38, P-51, F-4U, Zero, FW190, Migs, B-25 & B-17, etc plus a few tanks and vehicles. Very knowledgeable, friendly and courtesy staff. Location is a bit out of the way from Los Angeles but its well worth the drive and cost of admission. Highly recommend.

Advantage of going on a weekday I think. One of the finest museums of its type I have ever seen. Their collection is amazing. More than any other I have seen. The inventory includes the only flying example of a P-26 Peashooter and an A6M5 Zero flying with almost all of its original parts, among other aircraft. Also, they have friendly docents, and they have days where military veterans can get in for free. If you love history and aviation, you should give it a shot.

We bought our tickets on Groupon for a great deal. We went around noon on Sunday (Christmas Eve) and it was completely dead. 3 cars in the lot.We spent about an hour walking around, and looking at all the planes. It was interesting. They dont give you any history on the planes, which is disappointing. Just a map, with the names. There isnt anything interactive. You cant get inside any of them. There is a tiny helicopter outside with steps that are very wobbly, that you can climb in and take photos with. There are about 4 hangers with planes, then a bit outside. You must pay close attention. A lot of the planes are all over, and the wings and propellers are eye level. So you could easily get hurt if you dont pay attention. Also, where there are things roped off, the poles stick way out. I tripped over one.It was fun. A one time kind of thing. There is no place to get food. There are a few soda machines. A gift shop. Pretty pricy. We get shot glasses when we go places. Usually 3-5 bucks. Theres was 9. There are restrooms.Fun little place to go to waste an hour.

Great place if you are into aviation and even if youre not. You learn a lot about the history of aviation. I didnt realize that it has only been 60+ years between the Wright Brothers and landing on the moon! There is an incredible number of fighter planes and jets from WW1 and WW2. I really liked where the history was given of the actual fighter or bomber I was looking at. And there are so many of them that actually can be, and are, flown now.One gets to see many captured German and especially Japanese fighter jets from WW2. Full size replicas of many planes are also on display.Give yourself at least a couple hours to see everything. If going in the summer, remember that the hangers arent air conditioned and can get hot. And yes, there are many places to sit clean bathrooms.

Some amazing and rare planes here for the aviation enthusiast. A good chunk are kept in flying condition, however some of the planes looked more like scrap than museum-pieces.The staff were knowledgeable, which is good because the signage was sometimes missing. If theres a particular plane youd like to see, definitely check the website to make sure its not flying somewhere. What this museum does great is have flying midcentury fighters and a diverse collection of aircraft. What it does decently is allow visitors do be up close and personal with the aircraft. What it could do better is be a little more fulfilling as a museum as opposed to a strangers hangar.

Great place to visit to see the restoration and flight of war planes in general. The events that they host are a one of a kind. Very knowledgeable staff ready to answer your aviation questions. Many great speakers like the ones yesterday, who are a testament of living history. Its a lifetime opportunity to go see the speakers, for theyre dying out and in their 90s.I cant wait until the 60th anniversary air show comes around the corner in May. It will be from the 6-7, and will be neat to watch.Im only 27 years of age but I have much respect for the ones who flew them to the ones who restore them.My grandpa flew over the Pacific in WWII to escort bombers with the P-51D Mustang, and thats what I saw yesterday. I consider this museum my home away from home. Id honestly live here if I could. I love history and aviation and this Museum is perfect. Ive visited maybe 4 times, I wish I could visit more often but I live far away. March Field Air Museum may have a B-29 and an SR-71 but when you want old war birds post war Jets, you cant beat Planes of Fame. You HAVE to visit this museum if you like Aviation or history. Even if you dont, visit anyways. They even have a Sherman Tank and you can go inside a real B-17 (by the way, theyre trying to restore the B-17 so please donate If visit.). Full honesty, I Love the A6M Zero and, if Im correct they have the only flying zero with the original Japanese engine. When I saw the Zero fly at an Airshow practice last year I teared up ngl. I never thought Id get to see a zero fly. Much less next to a Spitfire and two Mustangs!Best museum ever.

What a great place to pay homage to the planes of our past. The displays are priceless and the meticulous care in which these war birds are maintained is simply amazing. As a former air force crew chief and employed in the aviation industry for over 50 years it reinforced my love of aviation and what it took to put these machines into the airand those that sacrificed so much. The gift shop is wonderful as is the manager with whom I spoke to about upcoming events at the museum and was informed about another air museum just down the road on Chino Airport property!!
