Full disclosure: I am not a Christian and tend to be wary of religious organizations and churches. Fourth Presbyterian gives every indication of being a compassionate, humane, life-affirming church who are trying to follow the path of Jesus. An absolutely beautiful and spacious church building, demonstrating a tasteful and unique blend of classical and contemporary architecture, as well as a wonderful art gallery which is currently showing art by Indigenous Columbians of the rainforest. They also have a range of social services for homeless and poor adults and youth. The front desk staff and other workers are friendly and helpful. I cant wait to visit again.

This is such a gorgeous place. Historic and beautiful, it has architectural details that will thrill the eye. The organ and its pipes fill the sanctuary with an amazing sound in the right hands. We got to sing there as members of the Apollo Chorus of Chicago in our spring concert this year. We had not one, but two exceptional organists to play, and when singing with an organ, it fills the soul. I hope you get to see it soon!

Stunning architecture, peaceful retreat from the noisy, busy streets of Chicago. Beautiful place to meet Jesus. Even if its after hours, explore a little. If people are there, they might let you come in. Be respectful and it might be one of the unexpected treasures you encounter while in Chicago. It was for us.

Such a beautiful and intentional worship space. Its very welcoming and inviting and nestled in the heart of the busy Michigan Avenue shopping community. Even on a Thursday night I was able to find the Holy as I listened to the choir rehearsing. I look forward to coming back for a full service.

A truly welcoming oasis and sanctuary in the midst of the busy Mag Mile. A wonderful community of people trying to serve God by serving their city, as well as a beautiful space that’s often host to wonderful musical concerts and other events. Social services center, nursery school, senior citizens center, home of an amazing tutoring program... welcome “home.”

Call about the food pantry before going there. I was told by a lady there are walk in between 9-11am but they also go by appointment and stated I can walk in this morning 1/7/2020. I get there and the young lady at the pantry desk was saying I needed an appointment. I stated I called a few minutes ago and was told to walk ins are ok. I stated I came because I had no food in my house. “I have no openings today but I can schedule for another day” she said without making eye contact. “I work the rest of the week” I said. No response or anything!!! Very rude!!

Fourth Presbyterian Church is located between 900 North Michigan Shops and the Water Tower Shops on the Michigan Avenue Magnificent Mile. It is a magnificent architecturally visual design, both inside and out. Take time while you shop to spend in the wishing well garden. It will settle and focus you away from the hussle of retail shopping.Inside you will find a very large church with glorious stained glass windows, a wonderful loggia, pane glass windows, a large choir area located behind the ministry. Look up towards ornate wooden carved angels carrying their instruments. Services offer guest speakers, and food for thought. There are plenty of comfortable pues.Take time to look at the art gallery, large community room, and large selection of many functions the Church offers to the community. There is heavy volunteering organized by various divisions in the church; food kitchen for the poor, free clothes, and groceries. As in controlled by all churches, these services are offered by your home zip code. The zip code for the church is 60610. Also, you may participate in prayer groups, womens or mens groups, and yoga or exercise classes for a small fee. The church also has a reach out international program. These are to name a few.Sermons are well written and offer something for everyone of any denomination. After a service, take a stroll to an in house library to expand your experience. There are several free concerts in the church or chapel.Handicapped accessable. Paid parking in the area.

Not only is a lovely church to look at and be in, but the surrounding complex they attached to it gives you all the modern convieniences. Bathrooms, meeting rooms, a chapel, a seminary, and this too is lovingly designed, though n a modern style. Be sure to catch the model of the place up on the second floor of the sweeping staircase. Bathrooms on first and second floor with an elevator in between. If near the model, peek out the window. On a good day, or night, you will see the lights at the very tip top of the old John Hancock building (875 N. Michigan Ave.). For those with an EV Tesla or like me, a Leaf, free charging is available at the 900 N. Michigan parking building. Free for rhe first 4 hours. Of course, the rates are up there. In 2020 it was $27 for the first hour and I got out of there with a $37 bill. But it was nice to park close by and get charged up for the long ride home.

Its not exactly a church, its the offices of the archdiocese. No longer a school here either. However, the chapel still functional and open Saturday mornings to the public, with what must be the most beautiful stained glass in the midwest. The acoustics here are incredible too.
