Been playing S3 summer and fall softball for ~7 years now and every one has been great. The league is super organized and management is very accessible and prompt at answering questions, helping out, etc. Unlike other leagues, S3 is a perfect mix of competitive and fun -- 99% of people who play S3 are good people and the league feels more like a family than some giant faceless softball corporation.

Joining S3, Simply Sport and Social, has been a great way to grow my community in Chicago.Ive been in Chicago for 4 years and have played sports my whole life, but found most other sports leagues here to be more exclusionary. I would rarely hang out with my teammates outside of games and rarely found other events hosted by those leagues to be very fun.When I found S3, I signed up because the times and locations were convenient to my schedule. The BIG difference between S3 and other leagues is the people. I quickly developed friendships with my teammates and competitors and have since gone on to develop great relationships with these people. Where as other leagues could often feel exclusionary S3 feels inclusive. I still have a great time with playing the sports (volleyball, kickball) with some nights being very competitive. At the end of the night we all go to the bars to hang out having a great time laughing about the games. Also I have done many of the other activities such as float trips in the summer which are fun and relaxing.Ben the organizer of S3 is very organized and friendly which just adds to the experience.

S3 is a great league! It is inexpensive, and Ben has been more than accommodating and flexible in helping with getting my teams signed up every year. Solid competition, and you cant beat the bar deals--no other league Ive played in offers them!

I have been playing in S3 Leagues for a few years. A number of different sports during different times of the year. Always a fun way to stay active with sports and meet new people. They also do a tubing float trip a couple times during the summer and that is a blast! If you’re new to the city, enjoy playing sports, and want to meet new people who share that interest, definitely give S3 Leagues a chance!!

Highly recommend! Not knowing anyone in Chicago when I first moved, this was the best way to meet people. I joined a random kickball team in 2016 and today those people are still some of my best friends!

S3 is the BEST co-ed rec league in Chicago! If you are looking for a fun, social outing during the week, this is the league for you. I have built lifelong friendships and created memories that I will always treasure through the league. Whether signing up as a single player or a full team, you are guaranteed to have a great time!

I have played multiple sports through S3 and found it to be one of the premier organizations in Chicago, offering a wide variety of sports (skeeball, kickball, softball, etc) and fun events (float trips, Super Bowl parties, NYE events, etc) all over Chicago. It has allowed me to meet some amazing people and have fun at the same time.

S3 is a blast! I moved to Chicago back in 2009 and saw a flyer for S3 Softball. It was the best decision Ive ever made. I met so many people that I consider friends to this day. Its a great way to meet people. The leagues are very chill and everyone just has a good time. The sponsor bars after the game are always a blast. I highly recommend S3!

An incredibly well run and affordable league. I have been doing s3 leagues for 4 years now and have met some of my best friends through these leagues. The games are always on time and run smoothly, which from experience is not how other leagues in the city are. I will continue to do leagues through S3 for as long as I am in Chicago.

Best sports leagues in Chicago! I was a new to Chicago and made almost all of my friends through these leagues. They focus more on making friends and building relationships with people rather than straight competitive which makes playing that much more fun. Everyone in the leagues are friendly and they have great umpires. The guy that runs the league obviously cares a lot about making them run smoothly and that everyone has fun. Id definitely recommend to anyone!

Always a great experience playing with S3! My favorite in the city!

S3 is great. This is a great opportunity to both be active and meet new people whether you are new to the city or have lived here for a long time. I met two of my best friends through this league and continue to sign up because of the great people I meet. This is also the lowest priced league in Chicago without loss of quality! I can say this as I have tried the other more expensive leagues in Chicago and met no friends from those leagues, yikes. Lastly Ben, the owner of S3, is very accommodating and understanding. He ensures that everything is done to provide the best experience for each player. I would 100% recommend S3 to anyone looking to make amazing friends in Chicago while playing sports socially. 10/10 from me.

Great experience in the Family Feud trivia league! Very communicative about deadlines, standings, etc. Deals and prizes were great!

S3 Leagues is awesome--definitely the league to join if you are looking for a laid back social league with a good bar deal. Karaoke at Shenanigans after the games was a plus. The set cost per team was nice and allowed for lots of subs. I wouldnt have minded another week or so of regular games but overall the experience was great.

Kickball league was a great time!

I was looking to meet new people and didn’t have enough for a team so I joined S3. What a great decision! They run really organized and fun leagues. You won’t regret it. And they’re the cheapest in town, but still the best. How does that make sense? :)

I just finished up a season with S3 and it was a total blast. Leagues in general are fun but S3 really knows how to run a league. Its incredibly well organized, the teams are fun, and all teams going to the same bar is really unique and makes it a social activity instead of just sports. Way to go S3, youve got me hooked. Poor COVID planning/response & now a laughably unenforceable non-compete clause in the league waiver.

Friends told me this was the league group to join and I can’t believe it took me so long so do it. Everything was organized from beginning to end and I made some great new friends to top it all off. Kudos S3 for running the best league experience in town!

Ive been playing in S3 leagues for 7 years! When I first moved to the city I joined and met all of my best friends networking through the leagues! Fun to be active and be social. There are so many different leagues offered, you can find which ones are right for you!

Great way to meet new friends. I have been playing in leagues with this organization for a while now. Most people dont take the sports too seriously, and a mostly there to have fun.A great way to get out and meet new people if you are new to the area, or are interested in making new friends that you might not meet otherwise.

I joined a beach volleyball team and I was pretty nervous because I have not played in so long. The organizers were very accommodating and helpful adding a friend that wanted to join my team at the last minute. They give plenty of subs so you meet a lot of new people and there isnt a problem with forfeiting games. I also appreciate that they give team shirts in bright colors so that everyone is easy to find.

I have been participating in S3 Leagues for 4 years and they are simply so much fun! Ive made some incredible long-lasting friendships, and they offer a variety of leagues and events! Its a great way to meet new people, or get to know those you already know. Ben, the owner, really focuses on making it a customer-focused experience and is willing to go above and beyond to make customers happy. I havent tried other sports leagues in Chicago because I havent needed to! S3 is where its at.

S3 Leagues has been a huge part of my Chicago existence and also my future as a whole (I met my boyfriend of four years in the whirlyball singles league). Ive been a part of multiple leagues, joining sometimes by myself, other times with a handful of friends, and also as full team, and have had so much fun along the way. Its always a great group of people involved and a blast playing games with like-minded individuals who are looking to have a good time playing games and grabbing some drinks. There are a ton of perks of joining like some of the leagues have free shirts, you get a party at the end for first place for a lot of them, and great discounts at the home bar before and after (also during for some leagues) your games. I also love that there is always something to play, no matter what season it is. Definitely give it a shot!!

S3 was the best thing I could have done when I first moved to Chicago for work (not knowing anyone). Their leagues are as much social as they are sports and I lucked out, landing on the best softball team of people who became my dear friends to this day.So many friends, connections, roommates, and relationships have sprung from the people I met through S3! I recommend for any type of athlete! The skeeball league is super fun for non-athletic people too. :)

S3 Leagues really are more than just a league. Other organizations in Chicago runs leagues, but S3 really knows how to make it a better overall experience. The leagues are very personally run by a guy named Ben, who you can tell cares a lot of every little details and tries to make it feel more welcoming. You can sign up a team of course, but a ton of their players join solo or with a few friends and they makes teams by age group so youre not stuck on a team of weirdos all across the age spectrum. Plus all teams walk or ride a league bus to the same bar after games for drinks! So if youre looking to meet new people, just hang out, and not get crazy nuts about winning but rather have fun and make new friends this is the place for you. Ive played in 7 leagues now since moving to Chicago and plan on playing in many more. Thanks S3!

These leagues were the best thing I could have asked for when new to Chicago. I met all of my current friends playing with S3. They do an awesome job making teams of indy players by age group so youre not with weirdos of all sorts of ages. Plus their players are all pretty normal which is a plus. They definitely allow full teams so if you go that route you can save some money, but their indy fees are the cheapest in town too. No matter how you swing it (pun intended), S3 is THE BEST social rec sports league in town. Try it out! My name is Michael, and I approve this message :)
