I surprised my boyfriend on our anniversary by being kidnapped by the “zodiac killer” after dinner. We had a blast! I was having trouble booking on my phone but Vince went above and beyond to assist and answer my questions via text. The puzzles were really clever and we made it out with 4 seconds to spare with just the two of us. Libby was the one who facilitated the whole thing. She did a great job trying to keep the element of surprise for my boyfriend and making sure we had an enjoyable experience—Would definitely go again. My boyfriend has been to several escape rooms and said this one was very challenging. This was my first one. Thanks Libby we had a great time!

We love and adore this space! We’ve been coming here since last year and every time they don’t disappoint. Masks are required and hand sanitizer is everywhere. Katie was our escape room attendant and she was loads of fun. Can’t wait to come back.

We played all four rooms at Fox in a Box in one day and we had so much fun! Vince was a great help in getting us set up with same day rooms with a bit of a break in between. We have played over 40 rooms across the country and FIAB is easily top 3. The Game masters are awesome, Warden Libby is second to none and Katie made Zodiac feel completely submersive. All GMs were helpful when needed. The attention to detail and the little cards, pictures and t-shirts are a great addition and unique. Definitely a Highly Recommend!

My team had a great experience in the Bank! I’ve done a ton of escape rooms and Fox in a Box is a great company with great rooms! Libby, our escape van driver, was wonderful and super helpful. The extra special touches that she gave us were EVERYTHING - that’s what makes the experience SO special! I’ve done all of the other rooms at another location (Miami) and the team here in Chicago was wonderful! We had a great time, and we escaped!

My friends and I went to Fox In A Box to do the “Zodiac” room for Halloween night and it was definitely the best decision possible. Our game master was Lin and she was AWESOME. It was most of my group’s first escape room so Lin suggested we do interactive so we can receive help. Thank god she did, or else we would’ve been lost. Her hints were perfect and always came when we needed them. The room itself is incredibly immersive and difficult without being nonsensical. It was definitely the most fun I’ve had since COVID, and it was great seeing them be so safe about it. Will definitely be back, couldn’t recommend enough.

We did two rooms, Prison and Zodiac. Our game masters were Lin and Libby respectively and they both were absolutely amazing. They both really helped bring the escape rooms to life. The rooms themselves were both great. The theming was amazing and I highly recommend Fox in a Box if youre interested in doing an escape room are are in Chicago. I personally prefer Zodiac because of the style of the room, but neither one will disappoint you.

This place is always a blast! Linn was a great game master and did a perfect job. This business is so reliable. We called, no one answered, but they called us back in 5 minutes. They are reliable and the puzzles are superb!! Will always come back!

Libby was the best!!! Explained everything clearly and even made us cards at the end with drawings of us in our Halloween costumes! Such a nice touch! She was amazing, and we will 100% be coming back!

Did the Bank escape room with 3 friends on Halloween. It was the first time any of us had done an escape room and it was a great time. Challenging enough to make you think, but the gamemaster is there to provide hints when you get stumped. Libby was our gamemaster and she was wonderful! We will definitely be back to try out the other escape rooms.

The Prison escape room was so fun! It was inly two of us so it was very challenging but still a great time. The staff was very welcoming, upbeat, and committed to their roles which made the experience even more amazing! Our Warden Libby was the best! So fun to work with and just an all around sweet person!

WHAT A FUN EXPERIENCE! I will 100% go back. This is our 6th escape room and we have never felt so satisfied with an escape room (we did the Bunker). Warden Libby was so much fun and definitely made the experience that much better. Being a team of only two made for an especially difficult time but with a few clues we were able to overcome the hurdles that more players can easily overcome. The prison escape room is a great story that is well supported with fun visuals and sounds. Can not wait to return and do the others!

So much fun we went twice in one weekend while friends were in town. I haven’t been back in a while because of safety concerns, but I am looking forward whenever I will be able to return and complete the remaining rooms!

My husband and I had an amazing time doing the Prison escape room and we got out in time! This room was very immersive AND interactive. It legit felt like we were breaking out of a cell. They had us pick aliases and referred to us as such throughout the game. Our game master was so awesome he even gave us a postcard where he drew us a picture of the aliases we had picked! Mine was poison ivy so he drew a cartoon of the character in a jail cell.

Very nice escape rooms. Having played ~40 different rooms, was challenged by Fox in a Box Escape the Prison as it required more practical thinking than most rooms Ive encountered. Instead of just using things as you would expect in an escape room, actually think how youd escape in a real prison. Get creative, get out of escape room mentality.Warden Libby was very good at providing appropriate guidance and their method for delivering clues just continues the theme for the room.Rooms are always private. Makes it a pricier option for couples, but guarantees the option to play in whatever size group you want.Would definitely do another room with them.

My girlfriend and I love playing escape games online and fox in a box was our first real escape room and it wad an amazing experience! Their rooms are usually for groups of 3-6 but since we only had 2 they allowed us to ask for hints as often as we wanted so we had a better chance. Libby our amazing assistant made sure we had a fun and challenging experience. We ended up escaping with just a minute left! There was never a dull moment the hour we were in there! Were definitely gonna come again but this time with friends because the rooms are better suited for slightly larger groups. This is a GREAT place for a double date.

This was my fourth time coming here. Its definitely a favorite activity of mine, and I got a chance to come here for my birthday and participate in the Zodiac room. Libby is the best game master, and I was super excited to find out that she would be the game master for my group! Some of my group arrived a bit late, but everyone was very courteous regardless. Also, one of my group members didnt quite listen to the instructions, but Libby was still very kind and collective. She gave great hints and was a great game master as always!

Great experience! As a team building event we went to Fox in a box and it was so fun! We had a big enough group so we were able to have groups in each escape room. Mine was the bank and it was awesome. I had never done this type of thing before- it was great for team building! Very well ran, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend!

This was my second time coming here and I don’t regret it! The staff were just as nice and welcoming as the first time and really made me and my friends have a lot of fun! LIBBY was absolutely amazing in every way possible, and even blessed my friend after he sneezed. 10/10 would recommend Libby again.

This place was absolutely outstanding! The puzzles were complicated yet very enjoyable. The staff treated us superbly and were excellent at explaining the details of our room and the game. If you are trying to enjoy a good gaming evening with some friends this is definitely the place to go.

I’ve played two rooms with my friends there, and the experience is awesome! One hour sounds like plenty of time, but we were so concentrated on finding clues and solving puzzles. Libby, the room master of our second visit, was very helpful in giving us some critical hints. You can also choose to play the harder mode if you want. Overall, it is definite a place I will recommend to my friends.

Amazing experience, great escape game (bunker). The challenges were definitely fun and interesting. Our Game Master Libby was awesome, if you are heading there request for her. She added a distinct character to the experience with her spirit and energy. The personalized cards with hand sketches were an added bonus at the end for souvenirs. Totally recommend this!!

I and some friends of mine from Hungary went and did the bunker. The clues were challenging but possible to figure out, the room was well designed and the staff was very helpful, pleasant and patient lol.We had an amazing time with our “handler Libby”, and she was absolutely amazing as a guide. She was full of energy, very nice and understanding that most of my group was from Hungary and did not speak English fluently. My wife is from Hungary and her sister and friend do not speak any English, Libby, (I think that’s how you spell it), actually went out of her way to not only write thank you cards, she actually took the time to translate them to Hungarian.....accurately as well. She was amazing and showed true character, professionalism and kindness as well by going out of her way to do that for us! Amazing time all around! Will definitely be going again!!!!Scott

Awesome experience! We did the prison escape room. It was well-designed, challenging, and so much fun! Fantastic customer service as well. For example, we got there quite early, so one of the game masters gave us a coupon for a free appetizer at Bar Louie next door to munch on while we waited. Also, their storage lockers include phone chargers so you can plug your phone in while you are in the escape room. Overall, definitely planning to come back and do the rest of the rooms!!

We’ve done a bunch of other escape rooms in the city and suburbs and this one was my favorite! The game was a ton of fun itself but Honestly the friendliness and hospitality of the staff made this place Stand out above the rest! Lindsey was an amazing host she was so funny and sweet and you can tell she enjoys her job! We will definitely be back to try the others ️

This was my first time doing an escape game period and I’m glad we chose Fox in a box. The best part about the experience was Libby, our game master. She made it really fun and the extra mile to make it worth it. Definitely coming back to do the remaining rooms and asking for Libby!

We had such a fun time here! We went to Zodiac. I have been to a lot of escape rooms in many cities, and this is honestly one of the best ones Ive ever been to. Things I liked: the hint system (clues were given in an technical format), the clues made sense (you could see how you could use a clue to solve the puzzle), all of the puzzles were mechanical (meaning that there was no human interaction for when the Game Master saw you do something, then the puzzle suddenly worked), and we loved our Game Master, Lovelock. Honestly, if I go again, I might try to request him as our Game Master. He knew it was a little cheesy, but he still played into it in a genuine way, and that is all I ask for in someone working a room. I thought the cards at the end were a nice touch, in addition to the photo they send you. No regrets about this escape room, and if youre into escape rooms, this is one of the best for sure.

If youre new to escape rooms or want a new challenge to do with a team, this is a great place to book. The staff are super enthusiastic and thoughtful, willing to reward out of the box problem solving and celebrate creative approaches. Libby was a fantastic guide!

Been to a few other escape rooms and this one definitely takes the cake! Some highlights include amazing hospitality, exciting room choices, fantastic puzzles, and a very clean facility. We played The Bunker room as a family and our Game Master, Jay, got us excited and ready to go for the game and made us feel like true winners when we escaped! Thanks to Jay and all of the other amazing staff members for making our experience a very pleasant one!

A few good friends dragged my apathetic self to Fox in a Box and I ended up having SO MUCH FUN. I had never done an escape room and was skeptical/nervous about the experience. We did the Prison room and I absolutely had a blast finding clues and working together to problem solve as a team. Our guide Stephanie was SO sweet and very clear in explaining the rules (and great at giving just a few hints at the right time)! I would 100% try the other rooms if I lived in the area. Great way to spend an afternoon and make new memories!

If I could give this 6 stars, I would! My roommates and I did the Zodiac escape room today and had the best time! Libby was our game master and she made it even more fun. She’s super nice and helpful but not TOO helpful so we can still figure out things on our own. Perfect amount of help. Plus, she was funny and very informative about how the escape rooms work. I will definitely be back.

I was looking for something fun to do with my teen & tween nieces and we signed up last minute for the Bunker Room at Fox in the Box. They even let us start early since the room was available. We did interactive play with hints and had a wonderful time! Agent Sam/Slam gave us helpful hints along the way and even gave us an extra minute of play so that we could escape the room since we were so close! It was a wonderful experience for us all. Agent Sam/Slam encouraged communication & teamwork and my nieces were over-the-top excited to have escaped the room! Sam/Slam even made custom agent cards for us with amazing drawings reflecting our agent names. Highly recommend! This was a highlight of our time together in the city and we made fun memories that well cherish!

We had so much fun escaping from prison! Our game master Connor was super helpful when we needed him, but let us take the time to figure stuff out too. Would definitely recommend.

One of the best escape rooms. Ever.Puzzle were great and they made sense to the story (we did the zodiac killer room). The use of hints were perfect in that they helped but didnt give up too much info. Overall, highly recommend it. Katie (our game monitor) was awesome! Next time were back in the area we will def head back to try another room.

Our family of four (two kids ages 10,12) LOVED our time at Fox in a Box!! They are organized and we were able to fill out waivers ahead of time. We actually ended up coming back two days in a row.Our first experience was The Bank and our game master was Kelsey. She was great! She explained all the rules and guidelines and was the right amount of helpful during our game!! Thanks Kelsey!!The next day we returned to do The Bunker room. Katie was our game master and she was also so wonderful!! She even drew little pictures of us in our fatigues. Thanks Katie!!We have done around 7 escape rooms on different vacations and we all thought these were the best!!We are already planning our return visit!!

Went as a work trip for the managers of our store and it was a great experience for us all. Libby was very fun to work with in the experience and made us all feel more immersed in the whole bank robbing setting of the escape room. I definitely want to come back and try the others. The personalized cards at the end were a very nice momento for us to take with us. Most places give a business card but the hand drawn figures of all of us topped it all off perfectly.

Firstly, Libby, our game master, was absolutely great to work with. She exuded the enthusiasm and professionalism of the perfect getaway car accomplice for the Bank room. It was a well made and challenging room that definitely led us wanting to come back for another. Great job, Fox in a Box! Keep up your amazing work!Difficulty: 9/10Puzzles: 9/10 - there were quite a few number pads and locks, but there were also puzzles that I have never seen or heard of before. The clues were also creative - youll need to actually piece together clues from different rooms - and intuitive.Fun: 10/10 - theres a surprise in the middle of it that made it all the more exciting!Last hint: dont forget to open up the safe after you unlock it! I played the Lab room last year which didnt have the best storyline/theme/puzzles for me personally and also some other players. The great news is that the owner quickly responded to customer feedback and that room was discontinued. They replaced it with the new Zodiac room and Ive heard great feedback on all their current rooms. I look forward to trying another one of their rooms soon to see if they deserve five stars.

We really enjoyed working with Katie during our time there, her added flavor to the room was definitely a benefit to the company.We have done many many rooms, and Fox in a Box is definitely in our top 3. Anyone looking for a good time should definitely seek out this location! We did it as a group of two, and you get the whole room reserved for yourself.Be warned though, you do have to purchase tickets for minimum 3 people, as you do get the entire room to yourself (Worth it!)If youre not sure which room to choose, definitely choose Zodiac ;)Til next time!

BEST experience Ive had at any escape room. My younger nephew, who does a lot of escape rooms, loved the Bank Robbery. Our Game Master, Libby, was also great! She helped us to work together and have a great time solving the puzzles, without giving the answers away or making it too easy for us. Overall a fun and great experience for everyone! Super accessible for anyone of any age or ability! Will definitely be going back!

Just completed the 4th and final escape game at Fox in a Box and LOVED IT! Fox in a Box has everything you want in an escape game, is super challenging, and I love the private rooms. For all four rooms (Bunker, Prison, Zodiac, and Bank) we had game master Libby who was WONDERFUL! We kept all of the drawings she did for us. If you go, definitely ask for Libby, as shes hilarious and makes sure that you have a great time (also, she always remembered us which was really sweet). Fox in a Box definitely has some of my favorite escape games EVER! I cannot more highly recommend this place :) (Also, its perfect for people with a variety of experiences! It had puzzles for everyone).Well be back as soon as theres a new room! Also, when you complete all four games you get a super cute shirt that is quite cute and comfy.

Being only my second escape room experience, Agent Libby was a phenomenal and eccentric helper in my groups endeavors! I would highly recommend the Bunker to anyone, whether they are experienced or not.

Updated after second experience: During a staycation with my husband in Chicagos South Loop, I opted to give Fox in a Box another chance and the two of us tried to escape The Bank, and it was the HIGHLIGHT of our weekend! This institution has adjusted well during COVID times, with clear directions to text upon arrival in the lobby so the Game Master can greet you to bring you straight into your room. The games are evenly spaced out so we didnt see any other groups during our entire experience, and the staff were well-trained on facilitating safety instructions and offered hand sanitizer upon arrival. There are no longer lockers to store your things - instead they are stored in plastic bins within your escape room, which made perfect sense.This time, we were very very clear with our Game Master Lin that while we opted for an interactive experience (with help), we didnt want any clues unless we were 10 minutes behind or specifically prompted by us. The clear communication on the front-end allowed for a fun and fulfilling experience, where we escaped with the banks diamonds with just SECONDS to go!! The multiple rooms were immersive and sound systems were very clear, and the puzzles were really fun in the Bank! The only thing was that the walls were probably a little thin (or maybe the mic was left on) because there were times we could hear the group in the next room screaming/yelling. But we were focused on the goal, and Fox in a Box delivered a fun, safe, challenging, and fulfilling experience! We are glad to see them come back during this challenging environment and we will certainly be coming back!First experience: I have been to many escape rooms in Chicago and The Escape Game continues to be my favorite. Overall Fox in a Box wasnt a terrible experience. We found the Zodiac room to be less immersive and older, relatively speaking. While Stephanie was very nice, she offered us the option without supervision or with added assistance. We chose the latter but confirmed that we wanted supervision but wanted to be the ones to initiate for help. However, we didnt realize our option took ALL the challenge out of the game as the gamemaster was far too lenient on us, and too obvious with the clues, which resulted in us escaping in just half the time - without excitement. We didnt even get a single opportunity to ask for a hint and light the lantern!While we were clearly lackluster about the experience as Stephanie did our final debrief, we politely thanked Stephanie as we left the experience. I wish I was more honest in the moment, as we really felt let down. A bummer for the $40 spent that day, and so we jumped in a cab and headed straight to The Escape Game to play their Prison Break which satiated our competitive appetite. If you are considering Fox in a Box - opt for NO additional assistance.

Today I visited FiaB for the first time with my mom and my sister. This was our first experience in an escape room and it. was. fantastic! The game we played was the prison room and our game master was Libby. Since this was our first time, we chose to do the more interactive option where Libby could help us with little clues as needed. Her hints stayed in character and while they didn’t totally give anything away, they were just enough for us to put pieces together. I really appreciated her genuine enthusiasm and kindness during our many “d’oh!!” moments. The puzzles were challenging but never frustrating. I thought they were really clever and they really were all logical once you figure everything out. We didn’t escape in time, but now that we know what to expect from an escape room, we will be back soon and bringing friends! Thanks for a wonderful first experience. :)

This place is great! We did the Prison and Zodiac rooms and they were awesome. Josh and Ryuta were excellent game masters and very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come back to do the rest of the rooms the next time were in town! We also loved that they provide a variety of phone chargers for use while we were escaping, since wed been out all day and our phones were almost dead. Highly recommended!

Fiab was able to accommodate our group from one day to another. We had the bunker and the bank rooms and we all had a great time. Def a great team building experience!Shutout to Libby who was awesome and a great guide/hint person :D

This was an amazingly fun time even though we didnt escape. Everything from the game master to the room was an enjoyable experience. The game master was particularly awesome as she could tell we were having fun and seen to genuinely vibe off us. We did these zodiac room which did have a spooky vibe and at lest once times got me with a scare... although I did feel silly about it later. I would definitely go again.

Some friends and I did the Zodiac Killer room. It was an absolute BLAST! This was my first escape room and I was very impressed. The room was challenging and the staff do a fantastic job making sure everyone has a great time.

Had a great time with my son and nephew. Libby was a phenomenal game master. Highly recommend fox in a box!

This was my third visit to Fix in a Box, bringing different friends and loved ones each time. The time are challenging and definitely possible to finish in the allotted time. Libby, our game master, was hilarious and engaging, her warmth and humor made this the best experience Ive had yet. Thanks, Libby!

I had a great time here! We had planned to go with a group of three, but one dropped out so we decided to give it a go anyway. Bruce, our game master, helped us select a more suitable game for our reduced group. He was also great with subtle hints, enough to nudge us out of a rut, but nothing too revealing! We managed to make it out with a minute to spare. I had a great time and I am really glad we decided to go even only with two people.

The escape rooms are very interesting and fun! The puzzles really makes you think and the fact that you only have an hour to solve it and get out really gets the adrenaline pumping. We did all 4 of the escape rooms (bank (which technically youre trying to break into instead of escaping), prison, zodiac, and the bunker). All four rooms are designed beautifully and the puzzles really flow well together. Since doing all 4 rooms, we had 4 amazing game masters: Bruce, Kenzie, Lindsey, and Jimmy. They were all very helpful since we chose to do the interactive play and theyre really good artists.Also, doing all 4 rooms will get you a free shirt.I would definitely recommend the escape rooms to friends and looking forward to trying more of their escape rooms whenever we are in Chicago!

I had a really great time! I went with my two friends and Bruce was the guy that helped us out for our Prison Escape. He was a delight and extremely helpful! I highly recommend for groups, it took us a while so I’m not sure if we are just slow or if this really is hard but it took us almost the whole hour to do it. Will go back again!

Nobody in my group of 4 had done an escape room before. So this was definitely an experience! We had an amazing time. We were warned that this was geared towards a seasoned escape room person and we were offered an interactive experience. We did Zodiac and it was awesome/thrilling, so be prepared for the creepiness! Definitely recommend for a fun night out.

Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Sydney was awesome and we would request working with him again if we could! We really enjoyed it!

Great first time experience! We choose The Bunker! It was fun, the puzzles were not too complicated, but it took us time to figure out how this game works as it was our first time!Libby was our leader and she was very positive, energetic and helpful!Will definitely come back for to solve other rooms!

My friends and I went to this place because of the reviews and werent disappointed! We liked it so much the first time we came back the next day to try another one! Thanks to Josh & Libby for guiding us through Prison and Bank, I would definitely recommend trying this place out! Its a fun and unique activity to do with friends/family and gives a pretty rewarding feeling if you manage to make it through your room. 10/10 would go back.
