In general, the influence of the French Baroque is noticeable in the interior of the theater, many interior items are made in a similar technique with many famous French buildings.Beautiful and iconic performance space. A must see. Seating in the balcony is better than floor seats in the back of the main level.

This is a beautiful theater. The attention to detail in the architecture is amazing. The way the ceiling is painted is delightful and reminiscent of the renaissance eras value of making the entire building a work of art. Balcony seats still have a good view of the stage, not a great view but good. Sound and lighting is good. The multiple locations for beverage lines are a nice touch and I feel it minimizes the wait. Drink prices are not so nice but it is Chicago. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous.

This concert venue is spectacular!I had the opportunity to see Chris Tomlin perform his Christmas show and it was a blast. The concert hall is iconic in and of itself which made for a lovely atmosphere during the entire show. The acoustics in the building were top notch and it felt like there wasn’t a bad seat in the house! This location has a very friendly staff that was kind, efficient, and helpful ushering people to and from the concert hall. There were plenty of options to purchase drinks and snacks which was an added bonus on the evening. Looking forward to coming back and taking in another show!

The Chicago Theatre is a must for any music lover to experience. Please go and experience the tour firsthand. The guides are wonderful and the history is incredible. I was blown away. I saw Rise Against perform there the night before, from the front row, they played their acoustic set, Ghost Note Symphonies along with another punk rock favorite Face to Face. It was one of the absolute best nights of my life and getting to experience the tour the next day was an eye opening experience as well. There isn’t a bad seat in the house.

We were there for a Madonna concert. I believe this theatre, one of the most traditional in the US, has lost all of its charm. If you take a look at once magnificent ceiling, you can only see dirty, dust, and holes. I believe more money should be spent on a renewal of one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks. I am sure they have more, considering the artists and the shows they bring. Please, just spend a little bit of what you people profit on this once exquisite piece of architecture.

Went here to see the live My Brother, My Brother, and Me podcast. We had a blast, of course, and that was certainly in part thanks to the venue. There is plenty of seating here, and even all the way up in the balcony, the sound resonated well and I was able to see the stage a little better than I had expected. The view of the stage is great. The theater itself is gorgeous, both inside and out, and intricately decorated. The staff is kind, cheerful, and very helpful. Lines moved very quickly and efficiently here. The seats themselves are small, and there wasnt much wiggle room, and nowhere to set my drinks or popcorn (which I paid a pretty penny for considering the sizes- but Chase card holders were getting a discount!). The walkways between the actual columns of seats were quite narrow, and someone stepped on and spilled over my 5 dollar popcorn and water (he bought me more, and I didnt even ask him to).The stairs between each section of seating however were spacious and easy to navigate. There were plenty of lavatories nearby each entrance as well, so if you had to step out, you werent gone long and never had to fret about missing much. There was a relatively cheap parking garage nearby, and we paid ahead of time, so there was no trouble parking.Despite my few seating woes, I had so much fun, and I look forward to the next show I attend in The Chicago Theatre.

Favorite venue in town. The Chicago Theatre is a 1921 construct Cinema Palace, one of the grand movie palaces spread across the city. The space has impeccable sound and the renovation work from a while back brought this Theatre into a realm all its own. This mid-size venue fits 3600 but you wouldnt know it from its cozy demeanor. The only downside is the absolutely uncomfortable, low seats that make you feel like inspector gadget, folded into a chair. I wish this was not so, as I am on a taller side and it makes for a rather awkward show experience.

Beautiful architecture! Seats however lack leg room. You will need to get up every so often or your knees will start to hurt. We were first row of the balcony section and had to stand to get relief from the tight leg room. I included some vlose up photos from what was on the wall near downstairs washroom.

This is an aMAZing space!!! The theatre is almost 100 years old now (as of 2019), and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL inside!! The staff was also super friendly in a genuine way, which I really appreciated. Our seats were comfortable & clean, which is always a nice touch. We had seats one row away from the front of the Loge that were pretty good; the people on stage were small-ish, but were could still see their faces and facial expressions. Please be aware that the Chicago Theatre is HUGE; if you get seats farther away than that, youre getting to the point where whomever is on stage becomes a dot instead of a person/people, and I did not see screens set up for viewing for people in the back of the theatre. I suggest weighing that carefully when buying tickets, so that you understand what kind of experience youre in for. Also of note, I found out that the theatre does daily tours at noon (I think) for $15, where you get to learn about the history of the place, and see normally restricted areas like backstage!! Im TOTALLY going for that!!!

My first show at this theater. It is definitely better than most especially the newer ones. I sat up in the balcony. Theater needs to be remodeled with larger seats and more leg room. I went to theater as a kid when they only showed movies and now I am 60yr old and they have not updated the seats or carpet; still the same uncomfortable seats and dirty carpet throughout the auditorium. For the money you purchase tickets for events at this location, the least you can do is update seats and install new carpet. The bathroom were okay, seems as though they were remodeled. Other than that a nice theater/landmark in downtown Chicago.

Great venue. Absolutely gorgeous. Only got four stars because of lack of signage... Incredible confusing finding seating and all the ushers looked stressed and overworked, almost everyone needed help finding their seat. Also looks like it could use a bit of renovation, pealing ceilings and walls. Other than that, it was a great place to see a show and Ill definitely come back.

Went to the Vince Gill show last Thursday. Excellent show, excellent theater! We had front row seats in the loge section. The folks that work there are very friendly and helpful. Concessions consists of popcorn, candy, water, soft drinks, beer and liquor. Several stations throughout so if you want something youre never far away. Anything you buy there can be carried into the theater. Parking right around the corner at Wabash-Randolph self parking. Big Walgreens on the corner between the parking garage and the theater. Great location! Great experience! Great show! One more note: if you are looking for loge seats, consider taking the second row or further back. The front row has a guard rail in front of it. If youre tall like me its not too bad but if youre not its a bit of a problem having to always sit up straight to see over it. Not terrible but a distraction for sure and you cant sit anything on the wall beneath the rail, understandably. The rail is visible in a couple of the pictures I posted. Enjoy the show!

Do you like uncomfortable seats that tear at your cloths, rude staff and paying five dollars for a sixteen ounce bottle of water? Then youll love this place. Otherwise stay away. The only thing that this place has is a famous sign and some classic art styling, otherwise its hard to think of a worse venue to see literally anything. One of the most overpriced, over hyped and downright unpleasant places in the city.

Huge structure with elegant chandeliers and great sound system. However, there is only 1 (1 men & 1 ladies) on each Flr., 2 stalls. The higher the seats the steeper the incline. Public self parking garages are available for $53.00 for 2 hrs. Other than that...perfect.

Love this place. My husband and I go often for date nights. They book A+ talent and the venue itself is beautiful. If you are driving, buy tickets online and purchase the discounted psrking rate they offer at time of purchase. The garage is just around the corner and if you pay in advance you just scan and go. Saves money and makes it so much easier. If youre afraid of heights do not sit in the front of the balcony. Even walking down the main balcony stairs freaks me out sometimes, hah. You get just as good a view slightly further back. If you want to be in the action, be on the main floor. If you want a more intimate setting, go for the boxes. If you plan on drinking or snacking, get their early because the lines can be brutally long. The staff does their best to remedy the wait, but its normally a lengthy line.
