A few friends and I saw Hamilton here last July, and I have to say it was one of the best Broadway experiences (and shows) Ive ever seen! The theatre itself is laid out quite well, but its the set design, the attention to detail, and the quality of the actors that really make you feel like youre on the original Broadway, despite being a few hundred miles away from it.I will definitely be coming back here to see any other Broadway shows that pique my interest in the future!

Im giving it 4, just because of how tight the space between rows is. Anyone with long legs is going to be smashing their knees into the seat in front. Other than that, there really isnt a bad seat in the house. We took in Hamilton there and it was an awesome experience.

I love the stage, and the show (HAMILTON) is superb, but the theater has a very tiny lobby, and theres always a crush to make it downstairs to get to the restrooms. The seating is comfortable and the theater inside is a nice size-- not cavernous, but with a goodly number of seats.

Watched Hamilton from the mezzanine (intermediate) level, was a great experience. Even from the back, you can get a relatively good view. Best seats probably would have been either ground level or front row of either balcony or mezzanine level. Cast was wonderful, set was amazing. The building itself is quite old, and it can be hard to find bathrooms in the mass of hallways in the back. Speakers were quite loud so be wary if you have sensitive ears.

Luv this theater! You definitely get a touch of a vintage feeling upon entering. Staff was helpful&friendly. Two tips!#1 If youre tall you might want to get an end seat; not a lot of leg room directly in front of you. This is based on the Mezzanine level where I was sitting. #2 Dont be in a rush to get out. Its gonna take some time. The elevators can only accommodate so many people at a time. Otherwise youll have to use the stairs. It takes a while. The only solution would be to leave as your show is coming to an end in order to get a head start exiting. The drinks at the bar were good. Sorry for such a long review. Hope it helps.

This Theatre is quaint and charming! I recommend the right and left center mezzanine level seats for the perfect view of your production! The staff are friendly, intuitive, and organized! Ladies and gentleman come looking your best as you will not be allowed to powder, and press in the restrooms during intermission. Due to the time constraint traffic control methods are employed to keep the restroom and concession stand lines swiftly moving; an effort that was much appreciated during intermission! There are souvenirs and treats for sale at prices most reasonable for the occasion. The architecture is stunning and the staff absolutely lovely! Enjoy your show!

Went to Hamilton here! I loved it! I was so glad and grateful to be there. I had amazing seats in the Orchestra Center Row L. These were absolutely amazing seats - the stage is a number of feet above the seats, so the first couple rows would’ve been too close. Even on a Wednesday night, the theater was PACKED. I already want to go again! If you haven’t seen it already, I really recommend going before Hamilton leaves Chicago on Jan 5, 2020. The theater itself was a beautiful place -it is a lot smaller than it seems based on the seat map. The only downside - it is EXPENSIVE. If you have a little one with you, downstairs you can get complimentary booster seats so they can see better. We were so close, we could see all the characters’ expression - it was amazing! I really recommend coming here to see Hamilton.

I am 5’8” and there was only little room for my legs. Everything else was good, it was fun watching the show.Don’t forger to be on time.FYI the general seating is NOT wheelchair accessible, they might have different seating for people with special needs. This theater is smaller than others Ive been to in Chicago. As is true of most old theaters, the hall was beautiful and full of architectural details from days gone by. The smaller size of the theater brings everyone closer to the show, but can also create more obstructions. Many of the seats marked obstructed are perfectly fine seats and offer a reduced ticket price!

Went to see Hamilton and had a wonderful time. The seating and visibility to the stage were excellent as the theater was smaller than others we had been to which allows us to be closer to the stage. You could easily see the performers and hear them without straining. The knocks on the theater are the lobby is too small for everybody to be in before the show starts and the restrooms are barely adequate during the intermission. If you do attend a show, recommend purchasing any items from the concessions stand immediately as they are very difficult to get to during intermission and after the show.

I saw Hamilton here during the polar vortex. It was nice and warm inside. The performance was good too.It can get a little crowded inside, but that is part of the fun, like at a nightclub. The bathrooms were clean and efficient, and managed to handle everyone during the intermission.I sat on the first balcony, which I think is called the mezzanine. It was like stepping into a time machine in a good way! The theatre was opened in 1906 and as you ascend the stairs you just get the feeling a lot a history is present here. Orchestra Row D was perfect for a first viewing of Hamilton. Its true you cant see the turntable from that close (and I guess the actors shoes), but that made it more magical somehow, like the actors were floating across the stage in perfect synchrony. What you can see, exceedingly well, are the actors facial impressions. Their near-spontaneous impressions and interpretations add an indefinable extra dimension to the experience and draw out sympathy and humor more than I thought possible. You really forget about everything around you and feel like part of the play.

A beautiful theatre to visit--the architecture and design inside is beautiful. There isnt great indication of it online when you book, but the view is very limited in the last 5 rows on the orchestra level because of the large balcony overhang and several posts. Wonderful theater to experience a play, in our case Hamilton. Would have been 5 stars except the theater suffers as most older buildings that lack rest room facilities matched to the typical full audience size. You can expect the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the refreshments are responsible for downtown Chicago. Would recommend without hesitation. Beautiful and historic theatre in Chicago’s theatre district. Easy to access from the redline subway, and surrounded by excellent and fancy-as-you-want pre or post show restaurant choices. Theatre auditorium is ornate and classic LU styled, with beautiful gold inlay and detailed accents. Seating is perfectly situated for great viewing at nearly any level, and while the top balconies are a little vertigo-inducing, the railing is nice and seats are comfy for an hours-long show. Bar and merchants facilities are split between levels, making it easy to get what you want, and bathroom facilities are small, but well placed. Elevators make even the top seats fairly accessible to handicapped patrons. Staff were helpful and polite on our recent visit, and box office opens fairly early, which is nice.

Maybe, they made a substantial donation or purchased the naming rights or some such to become a major patron. They had a full page ad in the program, the day I attended a performance. Now that the mystery over the name is solved, it is the old Majestic Theater completely renovated to period greatness, true to its original bones.Smallish by todays standards yet an intimate setting for great productions.
