So awesome to let you rent a whole theater area and watch MOVIES! The Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely be doing this again.

I had an incredible theater experience. I was nervous about returning because of COVID but showplace icon did an amazing job of making everyone feeling safe. I can tell the staff was all retrained. Everyone was extremely professional and always ready to help. Everyone was wearing a face mask and guard, and people at the front was ready to exchange any cash for gift cards so everyone can have a truly contactless experience. It felt safe enough for me to want to return again.

So In This Time Of Worrying About Covid-19 And Being Concerned How Businesses Are Dealing With Cleaning And Making Sure You Feel Safe Being Out In Public, This Theater Is Doing A Tremendous Job At Making Sure You Feel Safe And Comfortable While Enjoying Being In A Theater Again To Watch The Newest Movies Being Released. I Really Felt Safe When I Went To See The New Mutants Movie. I Like The Way They Set Things Up To Make Sure All There Patrons Felt Safe And Could Enjoy Them Selves As We All Try To Get Back To Some Sense Of Normalcy. I Highly Recommend This Theater For Anyone Who Wants To Go And Watch A Movie (The Best Way To Watch A Movie) And Feel Safe Doing So. There New Set Up Is Very Simple And Easy To Follow As You Are Learning The New Way To Purchase Your Tickets And Food. The Staff Is Very Professional, Friendly, And Helpful. I Will Definitely Be Returning In The Future To Enjoy More New Releases Of Movies I Cant Wait To See. I Hope Everyone That Goes Has A Great Experience Like I Did.

The theater was clean and it was a very organized process. Everyone was cordial and gave lots of direction. I felt safe because of all the extra precautions that were implemented.

It was a waste of money for VIP. There is nothing special about VIP and all that money you spent. You still have to go to the concession stand to get your own drinks which i could of done somewhere else for cheaper. Plus you gotta pay for parking.

It’s literally insane to me that movie tickets are $17; it costs $11 to park (after validation for two hours, as if that’s enough time to see a movie) $7 for M&Ms, and $7 for a small 7/11 Slurpee... this place is a total wash, and I vow to never visit it again. I will not recommend it to friends, visitors, or strangers alike. If coronavirus has shown us anything, it’s places like this should just go out if business. Start over. The relationship between what it cost consumers and value received is out of whack.

This is my neighborhood movie theatre and I enjoy coming here. The space is clean and never overly crowded. There is parking onsite which is validated for 2 hours with a theatre visit. There is also a great view of the south loop skyline here.

I love this place. The plaza it is in is lovely. Its a theater where you choose your specific seats in advance, prices are fair, seats are very comfy and they have various large showrooms. Its located close walking distance from the Green/red/Orange line on Roosevelt.Can order tix online well in advance or buy them there. (theyve got other one off locations in different cities which is kinda neat).Five stars for the theatre! One lost for the catch when it comes to driving/parking.Driving?FYI: If you drive you can get validated parking free for 2hrs but if you go a minute over that youll be paying $11 for the 2-4 hour range, and more if you exceed 4 hrs.

My favorite movie theater in the city. Even though I love that I never get beat out of seats here. I would be doing it a great disservice if I didn’t recommend catching a hit film from this location.

Clean, large theatre with multiple screens and good customer service. Love their $6.00 dollar movie Tuesdays for VIP members (along with other perks). All seats are recliners, and the food is served at the concession stands only (including beer and wine). This is my favorite theatre.

Very nice. 1st time here. Loved coming to 1st show on Saturday. Took public transportation this day but good to know they have validated discounted rates.Friendly and everything was clean.

Excellent theater surrounded by a nice selection of stores, aesthetically pleasant to walk down the streets that lead up to it.The theater itself is clean and organized, staff is friendly and helpful on using the kiosks for purchasing movie tickets and snacks from the concession stand. The theater itself has the most popular seat reservation system with wide electric reclining seats.I was pleasently surprised at the selection of beer and wine offered--small menu about five beer options and only one wine option. Prices were reasonable for the area about 8-10$ per drink.

Nice theater with validated underground parking and cushy seats. The parking is validated for 90 minutes if you shop at the attached shops, but the validated parking from the theater is not free. Few free street parking available behind the theater, great Tuesday special priced movie tickets (must sign up for the free membership), can upgrade to special sections of the theater for adults.

I have seen EVERY Avengers movie here with a group of friends. I absolutely love coming here any time I can make it. Seats are assigned, food is decent and its always clean.

Tough call here, showplace is definitely the most convenient place to see a movie if you’re close to the city, though the quality has dropped over time. They’re trying to go fully digital, so everything, even popcorn, is ordered through a screen. Make sure you spot hero your parking or else it’s more expensive, even with theater validation. They have the big over stuffed reclining seats, which I personally don’t like, but you may if you’re into that. They do assigned seats, and were one of the first theaters to adopt in the city. Feels like they skip a lot of movies that are at AMC, but they only have something like 15 auditoriums.

This is my favorite movie house to visit in Chicago. They play current movies in a modern and nicely designed inside. The seats are plush recliner chairs and have a good amount of armrest space to not be on top of the person next to you.Upstairs is the VIP lounge where dinner, snacks and alcohol can be enjoyed and there are photos of famous people as decorations along the wall. The VIP seating section, where your food and beverages can be brought along, has HEATED (!!!) recliner seats.The beat feature of the theater is their pricing. They have deals all the time; the best being their Tuesday night deal (check website for current offerings as it may have changed) where all seats (including VIP!!!) are $6 and free small popcorn for Theater Members (which is a free easy reward program that gives you discounts on food and has even offered me early screening ticket for free).Parking can be found underneath and is easily accessible and safe, although (with theater validation) is $10.Overall, highly recommended to enjoy current movies, good food and EXCELLENT pricing.There are photos of famous people

Ive come in the past and its the best great sound,great popcorn all around awesome. Im actually rating this in the theatre i just finished rise of skywalker.

Really cool place! Nice location, clean, big enough but not too big and the staff is very polite. Great place to catch a flick.

Seats were comfortable. Screen and sound were good. Concession service was bad and the people (now not really interacting with customers) were somewhat rude. It wasnt clear to use the kiosks to order. Getting out of parking garage took 20 minutes and parking was expensive. Walked out telling my group, tonight doesnt make me want to come back to this theater again.

Avoid this theater. People in the row ahead were talking loud and laughing the entire time, despite asking them to keep quiet. I had to walk out to get help. Instead of having them talked to, I chose to just ask the manager for a refund. However, I was told that he could only give me a pass to another movie to be used in the next 30 days. What good is that if youre visiting and dont live here? Wasted my money. Dont waste yours!

ICON 21+ great place to have a couple drinks and a meal before your movie. You can bring your food in the theater and theyll give you disposable cups for your cocktails if you want to bring them into the theater as well. Seats were comfy, you can recline and turn the seat heater on too if you wish. Fun experience!

This is really the only theater we go to now. Parking is pretty cheap with validation and the theater is newer which means nicer seats. The 21+ VIP section is really what makes this place great! The bar is solid with some pretty fun cocktails and the restaurant is also delicious.

Great place to see a movie! The theater is super clean, very comfortable and everyone is always nice! The chairs inside the theaters are amazing! Theyre sooooo plush, they lean back and put your feet up! The sound system is also top rate. In closing the concessions are very good and they maintain a proper staff to keep the lines moving. I would highly recommend The ICON Theaters to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable place, with good food and treats, to watch a movie.

On a Monday we went to a screening this time. The movie theater validates parking for the first 90 minutes, after that you pay 10 dollars or more. As for the service they were fast and accurate, As for the place it looks clean. There is assigned seating so it is nice to know your seat will be available and do not have to rush to get to the theater. The seats recline and they are a bit soft with cup holders on both armrests. Easy to find and plenty of stores and restaurants in the same mall to visit.

Love this place. Like all cinemas, food and snacks are pricey. If you dont mind spending a little extra money, have at it. Seats are nice and clean and atmosphere is good. All the times Ive been there, there hasnt been much of a ruckus.

Great theater! They have large seats with lots of leg room and all for an affordable price.Not a fan concessions setup with computers but next time, Ill just stick to drinks at the bar.

Cost too much. Just paid $40 for the movie $15 for 1 popcorn & 1 drink then another $10 for parking. This is why I go to the burbs more than here. Everything is now automated but it costs more. You would think paying fewer staff would equate to a less expensive movie, but thats not the case here. You get the same experience for less in the burbs and with free parking. I love my city so I try to support things close to home, but I dont like when its an overly expensive experience. Its unnecessary. One last thing...the staff is courteous so that helps.

The movie theater was good, the staff inside was excellent, BUT THE PARKING LOT IS A RIP OFF, THEY GIVE YOU 2 HOURS but when u leave it costs u $11.00 TO PAY FOR THE REST OF THE MOVIE, WITH NO SIGNS TO TELL YOU THAT BEFORE YOU DRIVE IN!

I think it’s the best theater downtown. Comfy chairs nice bar with above average food. Tuesday’s have a great deal on movies and being a VIP member has great perks too! I highly recommend being one it’s free and you get great deals.

Tuesdays are the best time to be here! Staff is not friendly but 6 for a movie and 5 bucks for popcorn and a drink... Not bad. The theater seats are super comfortable. Definitely recommend!

Place was clean and nice. Bought my tickets online and showed them to enter, smooth and easy as all theaters should be. Tickets are incredibly cheap compared to AMC ticket prices. Went here to watch Frozen 2 for $7.80 (student discounted price) and had a great time.

$6 tickets on Tuesday. Extremely comfortable seats. Good sound and projection quality. Easy parking or ride share pickup. My preferred Chicago movie place now

Honestly I used to love going here. Its nice and clean, and the upper section with the bar is a great spot to relax before and after the movie. What makes me give it only two stars is the security of the place has gone downhill, especially at the bottom of the escalators going up into the theater. Ive had family and friends talk of instances where people have waited at the bottom of the exit escalators waiting to do a snatch and grab on people exiting the theater. Complaints were made to the theater management but were largely shrugged off, so my friends and I have largely stopped going here except in larger groups.

To be fair, I come to this theater more than any other because of its great location near LSD & 90/94 in the south loop. One of the pioneers of reserved seating which was how they got my business when they first opened.Pros: Complimentary garage parking under a certain time period with validation. Great location with access to a small rooftop park that has great city views behind it. Recliners. Perfect size for busy nights. The plaza in which it sits itself is very nice as well.Cons: The staff, they literally all look like they are dying to clock out, not friendly or outgoing. They dont clean often enough. Terrible use of lobby space, could use more furniture or attractions. Bar staff also once asked me what I wanted on 3 seperate occasions and never brought me the drink, I left without a drink and got to my movie late.

I love the high-back, swiveling and rocking seats in this theatre. Also, depending on the film, I-MAX, 3-D, Dolby sound, etc. are all options.

VIP seating is highly recommended. There are great menu of food you can order and bring in the theater to watching movies with. Bacon popcorn and flat bread !!!

One of the few theaters with a truly BIG screen. That is great!Service is miserably bad though. It is hard to express how bad it is. Took me 15 minutes to get a glass of wine... kidjanot. There were two couples ahead of me and three people working.Frustrating barely covers it. What is weird is a competent bar tender would make the place loads more money yet they have these people running things.Note to the theater: You are losing money

I do not like this theatre. Naturally the bar is pricey but the staff on Xmas day...after 7pm was pretty bad. The manager was awful. He never checked on us, but checked on the ppl on either side of us at the bar. Im not sure if his people were new but showing his frustration with the staff, publicly, is very unprofessional. My drink was made wrong. The guy who made my drink pretended he didnt know who had made it! It was just all bad.

It was decent. Lots changed since I was last here. I kinda like how they set up ordering concessions. It was a little confusing but I enjoyed Fantasy Island nonetheless.

My favorite theatre in downtown Chicago by far. They have a VIP screen for the newest movie of the week. 21 and over Bar where you can have a couple drinks before the movie starts! Drinks on me! Very classy and state of the art technology, amazing sound system, and screens. Just be ready to pony up the cash. A ticket for a VIP Flick is around $25 and its assigned seats so get tickets early for popular movie nights.Alright hope I convinced one or two people to check Showplace Icon out even if its a little pricy.Hey make it a special night out with your significant other. EnJoy!

I can say this place has both comfortable seating and high quality projectors- which i a big deal for me as someone who works in the film industry. I am not a fan of ordering everything through a kiosk but this is the way of the future I suppose.

Clean, helpful staff. They actually start the movie on time. Free popcorn refills and drinks, too. And COMFORTABLE seats that lean back. Why go anywhere else?

Caught Bad Boys For Life I like this location for their seating love the lounge recliners very comfortable and the theatre is roomy, it is normally quiet place to catch a movie as well.

The concession area was comfortable and open and the staff was very pleasant. We went to a later show, and the lobby area wasnt very well lit.

Great place if youre going on a date but starts together pricey if you are just going with family. Slightly more expensive than the avg theater but more posh as well. Get pre assigned seats. They place as a whole is nice and clean. Parking is validated for 2 hrs so if youre seeing titanic, youre screwed. You will likely exceed this if you include the whole production of previews, concession etc. Pakring used to be free, which to be honest was never going to last. So now between the 15 dollar ticket and 10 dollar parking. A movie night may start approaching 70 dollars if you dont sneak your own food in;)...great place to go though if your pockets are not thin. clean and nice stores around. Not 5 stars only for cost.

Modern cinema with comfortable seating. All you expect from a cinema. There is a parking garage below the cinema and bus stops for the 12 and 18 line close by.

Needs to be more than one hall for the bathroom. Long walks down the hall holding it because large Coke lol. Make sure you use it before the movie starts. In the front to the left. Youre welcome.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. For starters, this theatre has some weird thing where you buy things at a computer but make change with a person. Every single person that worked here seemed to be miserable, nobody smiled. The entire place was filthy despite many employees just standing around. Popcorn was cold. Seriously terrible.

Great theater, friendly staff, TERRIBLE patrons. Every time I come there are at least 3 people on their phone at full brightness, usually with sound on. I actively avoid this theater if a movie has been recently released because I know the crowd will ruin the experience. If it’s less busy, you can usually get a row to yourself and then the stadium seating wall will shield light from using their phones around you.

ShowPlace Icon on Roosevelt is my first choice when going to see a movie. Its in a convenient location surrounded by other great spots to window shop or stop and buy. They have multiple ways to purchase tickets and access the theater from wheelchair accessible to standard stair, escalator and elevator. They have added the new snack kiosks to move the line a little faster but it needs a lil tweaking so they added someone to assist when needed. Otherwise, comfort, convenience and great movie selections is all you need to relax and enjoy your entertainment..

Once again terribleness start with parking. If you are going to a movie that is over 2 hours it will cost you $10 to park. Great sound, lots of Kios to pay for everything including all the concessions. Wet bathrooms..

Pretty nice theater and somewhat convenient given its very close location to downtown Chicago. Each theater has automatic seats that lays back and are pretty large and clean too. Staff is friendly and pretty quick. They validate your parking if you decide to park at the plazas underground parking garage, however they can only validate it up to somewhere between 1 and 2.5 hours so if you were watching Endgame, youd still have to pay for the last half hour or hour out of pocket. Ticket prices are average given the location as well, if you go on slower days and off peak times, you can pick up some pretty cheap tickets though.

Really great theatre for cheap movies. Theres many amenities that you get from AMC like reclining seats and laser projection. Tuesdays is the go to day for cheap movie, it used to be 5 dollars but now its 6. Place is generally clean. Workers are fine though a bit unmotivated. Food prices are still crazy high but its a movie theatre

While the theater is nice enough to validate parking, for2 hrs, Im curious to who that benefits; considering most movies are over 1.5 hrs. Then you have to get to your car and have time to shop at the $how concession for $nack$ before the movie. Seems like a $cam

Getting worse! They keep automating what people should be doing. They make you use terminals (touch screens) located about 30 or 40 feet from the food service counter (which had A SINGLE PERSON behind it) then notify when your order is ready via text. The process is unclear, slower, more cumbersome, and just inconvenient.They need to stop being cheap and just hire an adequate number of employees. Just make things quick and simple by having a person take your order and payment then hand you your food in the order, that you placed your order.This is the opinion voiced by myself and 80% of those that were in line.

They charge full adult price for kids 2 and under. I think that says enough about how this place operates. I was going to buy 8 tickets for everyone good choice trying to rip us off on the one ticket for our 1 year old that will be sleeping in his stroller. Keep it up on those good business choices.
