Easily my favorite rehearsal spot in Chicago! The location is pretty low key and you can practice at anytime of day or night without having to worry about bothering neighbors. Parking can be a bit tricky at times but make sure to pay attention to the signs especially in front of the facility and youll be fine! The facility is also very secure. It is fob access only and the rooms have standard handle locks with a deadbolt and a place to additionally add a pad lock of your own. Would highly recommend practicing here!

I share a practice room here - friendly staff, usually not too crazy loud neighbors, and safe enough to leave gear.

I rent a monthly space here. Ill start this off by saying that Im not a serial reviewer or even much of a reviewer at all--I tend to find too many clever or snarky or suspiciously over glowing or petty and angry ones to really trust and I dont want to add to the noise, but something has come up that I cant ignore. Ive had no real complaints about my experience until now: the air conditioning on half of the 3rd floor is broken and needs replacement. It will be 3 weeks without air conditioning before work will begin (they say). At this point its an oven in my room (there is no window or ventilation since its a band practice space). I have requested rent compensation a number of times and they still will not agree. What they are offering is scheduling and use of one of their hourly spaces. This is not reasonable for me for various reasons--I arrange and record music using many instruments (often unconventional) and effect pedals, and do not want to spend the time and energy it will take to transport these things each time I want to work, also I like to pop in for a little bit here and there whenever I want. These explanations should not even need to enter my discussions with management as I have chosen and am paying real money for a monthly room and not an hourly space. Ive been made to feel I need to explain my reasons, like its ridiculous I dont want to accept what they are offering. I am losing money every day I cant use my room. Superior Street management: I will gladly adjust my rating if you change your stance and discount my rent for all the time I have been affected.UPDATE: GM called nearly 2 weeks after my initial complaint to confirm there will be no rent compensation. Are they in financial trouble or do they just not care about their tenants? Either way not good. Proceed with caution.

Terrible neighborhood. Had my car window busted during a smash-and-grab. In asking around, many fellow musicians have had the same thing happen to them as well - including Superior Street Center For The Arts sound men and other fellow employees! Additionally, the facilities are mediocre at best. Their large room smells like festering water and rancid garbage. Beware of this place.
