Loved the boat cruise along the River Dee, if its a nice day you can see some really nice and interesting sights.We ending up on the boat called Jackie, seated on the open top deck and for the most of the trip on the river told of all the history and famous landmarks on the way.Very informative indeed, finding out about the nearby Witches of Broughton and the famous hill where they tried them by rolling them in barrels, mostly to their death into the river. This is now known by the name of Barrel Well Hill, but used to be called Gallows Hill, because folk were also hung there also.Not to mention the Roman connection with the city along the River, plus old dwellings of some rich and famous.Well worth the trip, which takes in a lovely stretch of river, just down from The Groves

My wife and I have taken the short half hour and longer 2 hour trips on a few occasions. They have always been very relaxing and enjoyable. The staff running things are friendly and helpful. If youre looking to see the river in a comfortable surrounding, this is by far the best way of doing it.

Enjoyed the trip and so did children. Did expect staff to clean seats before letting new people on though and they didnt. Some people didnt bother with masks either. There was plastic sheeting in front of you though

Rented the Lady Diana for a group of wedding party guests to take them to the EtAlia restaurant for the wedding meal and celebrations. Looked after really well from boarding to getting off. Well worth it, even though it was a much shorter ride than a normal charter.

Great way to see the stunning river side properties as well as learn about some of the history of Chester and the river Dee, there are refreshments available to purchase and plenty of seating on the boat and the staff were really friendly.

Nice trip on the river in the sunshine, very warm day so thankfully there is a bar on board for refreshments albeit a little expensive. The trip has an audio commentary with a pause to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, the half hour trip from the Quay was £7.50 which is a little steep for such a short journey. The staff were friendly and efficient.

A very nice ride up the river Dee. I forgot to say the captain had a very good knowledge of the history of Chester and the houses along the river bank . its a must for travellers to the beautiful city of Chester .

A waste of £25 each for this very basic Xmas experience. Felt unwelcome from the outset as our ticket was clearly shown on my phone, yet we were challenged TWICE about its authenticity, while other hordes of screaming women were herded on-board with hardly a glance. Perhaps a summertime party evening would be more pleasant, but the Xmas one was grim, a complete rip off.

Chester is a beautiful small city anyway, with lots of history and very beautiful old buildings. The boat trip on the river Dee goes along stunning town scenery to the left and soft meadows to the right or visa versa. It takes approximately about an hour and is a nice trip for parents / grandparents and kids during daytime and sometimes are special offers for romantic candle light dinners or busy parties.

What a lovely experience for Bank Holiday Monday! A serene and informative trip to Aldford and back turning by the Iron bridge. Very friendly staff including Lisa serving beer at the bar. Looking forward to booking another trip later in the year!

Great little cruise today. The boat was clean and tidy, and the crew very friendly and allowed us to take our dog on board. Very informative commentary during our trip down the river. Would love to go on the longer cruise next time.

Great fun 25mins for 30 mins £25 deposit recommend 1hour as you can get far up the river in that time, staff were helpful and friendly .

A bit boring, thought there would be more houses backing on to river with helipads in the back gardens and similar. Not just a complete wall of trees on both sides. Most exciting point of afternoon was an angler sitting on bank waved to me!

We did this on a beautiful crisp Saturday in September and had a lovely time, we saw some of the nice houses and listed buildings on the banks of the Dee there were several boats out from the rowing club one of which we had to stop to avoid overall it was a nice trip the Commentary was difficult to hear and a little out of time but that didnt spoil the enjoyment.Combined with the bus it was good value!

Had a lovely 30 min Valentines day cruise along the River with a glass of proseco and chocolates. The boat was nice an warm too on a cold day in Chester.

Nice short river cruise. Just the right length to keep kids entertained. And allowed us to take the weight off our feet for abit after doing a walking tour and being walking the city walls

Fantastic! We went on a short 30 mins trip around the river. Views were lovely and very relaxing. We were blessed with hot weather too which made it extra special. Normally I get sea sick so I wanted the shorter tour, I was absolutely fine. Seats are comfy too. Staff very friendly. The card machine wasnt working but we were still able to pay by card once we had finished the tour.

Kids absolutly loved this.

Nice chilled,relaxing 2 hr cruise. Not a great deal to see apart from iron bridges at either end. If you hearing is not good sit near the captain to hear the commentary.Drinks and toilets available on board.

Beautiful relaxing, but very short, boat trip on the River Dee, with a very informative narrative. Again lucky with good weather. Shall HAVE to return in order to join the longer boat trip!

The half hour river trip is vastly overpriced. In comparison, the 2 hour trip is well worth the. Money. My only complaint was it advertised snacks and drinks on board so I didnt have lunch only to find all on offer was drinks and crisps. Also my walking is impaired and no staff came where I was sitting for me to ask them to get me some crisps

The big boats offer lovely relaxing river trips; while Paul and his team care for those who like to flex their muscles with the smaller craft such as the row boats and also keep you fortified at their great little coffee shop.

Good fun to do on your visit to Chester. We took the boat with the joint ticket, giving you a discount ride on the city tour bus. It made for a pricey day, but we learnt new things (and we live in Chester!). Theres a bar on the boat so you can enjoy a drink whilst watching the world go by. Not so much fun for kids, probably best for adults - especially if you have limited mobility but want to see the sights.

The information given on the boat was really informative. It was a restful couple of hours in a busy weekend. Well worth the trip for the cost.

Me and the hubby did the 3 hour iron bridge cruise on 1st July as a Birthday treat to us both,it was far better than we expected and the time flew,I really could have stayed on longer.The crew were fantastic and funny and the atmosphere relaxing.we will definitely do it again next time we visit.Thankyou Chester Boats for making our double Birthday memorable
