Great staff at all levels from the front desk to housekeeping to the trainers. Everyone is polite, knowledgeable, and willing to assist if you have a question or issue. The facility is clean and extremely well maintained with ample space on the exercise floors and in the locker rooms. The equipment is in great condition and there is enough of it, and enough variety, that wait times for any particular piece are limited. There is also a great amount of space on the exercise floors.

This gym has all the right weight lifting and cardio equipments! It is spacious. The staff is professional and friendly! The gym is very clean. Cleaning crew does a great job!

When I said Im not satisfied with my fitness, thats a result of the pandemic, my having to exercise remotely for months, my schedule keeping granddaughter two days a week so I cant attend more exercise classes. I feel that ACAC is doing remarkably making classes available.

I appreciate the efforts to keep clean, but the cavalier attitude toward masks and social distancing is a problem.

I always enjoy attending group classes, working out in the free weights area and using the cardio equipment! There is always plenty of equipment available and all of the equipment is kept extremely clean! The staff at ACAC are exceptionally friendly and professional! I look forward to joining again next year.

ACAC Albemarle Square is two blocks away from home. It is sanitary, well managed, and has plenty of equipment.

What can j say about this great place. They took care of me and made me feel special. They rewarded me back to good health .and I loved the great trainers..and the front office staff for our rehab section. They always made feel wonderful . I wish I could afford this place to train maybe soon after I get better and Ill be able to turn around and start a new journey to get stronger and big again. Love you guys!@

The bathroom restoration turned out beautifully, with more showers, more lockers, ceiling fans, more sinks, and a clean feeling. The trainers are friendly and pretty attuned to ones exercise techniques. The pool offers an excellent work out with classes, and specialty exercises for those getting back into exercising in general. Getting used to the cost is something to understand as an investment in yourself. Family rates offer the best deal. For injury management, the PT shop adjoining the club will get you back on track quickly. Put this place into your lifestyle for a good body investment. Enjoy!

When I joined I specifically asked about the cancellation policy because I had a feeling the gym wasn’t going to work for me. I was told I could cancel at any time. Fast forward a month and a half, it takes over two weeks to get someone to speak with me despite numerous inquiries. They tell me I have to pay for an entire year (I never signed anything). They asked me to come to the gym twice to discuss with me and both times I arrived to find that the person wasn’t there. Finally they agreed to cancel. I check my statements and I’m still being billed. They tell me that I am being charged for an extra month because they processed the cancellation after the 20th (my initial cancellation request was a week prior to that date). Really questionable business practices. I have started asking around and this experience seems to be quite common.

I recently joined the gym under the PREP program. I am so grateful to the staff for their knowledge, energy and patience . The facility is always clean, excellent selection of classes. Everything you need to improve your health. Just need to bring your determination!!!

Great staff and wonderful facility. My only complaint would be that I wish they had memberships for the pool only. Their monthly fee is a bit steep for me especially since I have extremely limited mobility. I would be paying for services I am not able to use. I have asked about a pool only membership and theres no such thing. I have also asked if I can be added to my sons family plan but thats not an option either. As a senior it would be amazing if they had a plan I could afford. Otherwise its a great facility and the staff is super friendly and engaging. Amazing for families, great daycare and always clean.

A clean well staffed the facility with a wide selection of both cardio and strength building machines. Both the front desk staff and the sales staff very competent and welcoming .The administrative staff and the trainers are also great. It is an expensive facility including pools hot tub‘s saunas steam rooms and massage therapist.. A group of us just wish that they were open later hours especially on Sunday

Great gym!

This is my happy place. From the moment I walk into the (beautiful!) lobby, I am greeted by the friendliest employees and welcomed as a familiar face. I love the new cafe and social space! Often I will grab a smoothie and read by the fireplace after my workout. The new cycle studio is also awesome - I had never tried cycle before and was super intimidated, but now Im a regular. :)

I have been a member for years and have gone through many stages...weights and personal training, cardio classes, times where I preferred to exercise on my own. I have tried Tai Chi and am now doing aquatics. I LOVE how there are all ages and all levels of fitness here. The desk people are very welcoming and friendly and their hours are convenient for all lifestyles.

Easy to love a workout: an array of equipment, good value.

What a friendly, welcoming place! They must be doing something right because many of the employees have been there for years and years. Youll see all types of folks here striving to get healthier. The staff makes it enjoyable to do so. Renovated some parts recently and now it even looks nicer than before.

The physical therapy at ACAC has helped my husbands back and core so much!

Great staff and good locations throughout Charlottesville.

It’s a great gym to workout in but the atmosphere is extremely horrid. The elderly kept wanting to take equipment I was using at the time for a workout. I also think their phone policy for the locker rooms is too strict. I got complained about twice for using my phone when literally all I did was turn my music on. I understand the staff at the time was just doing their job but when I went to the manger of the gym about my complaints... all he did was stare at me. He had nothing to say and I had never been treated in such a way by a gym in my life. He doesnt deserve the position he has. I would not recommend this gym to anyone unless you’re 55+ and have lost your mind.

This is a fantastic gym. so glad my family and I are members here. We LOVE the kids zone. Great for the kids to be around other kids. The cardio area is well maintained, and almost always clean. The equipment is up to date and almost never faulty. The weights area is good and so is the floor. I have not taken many classes but the ones I have taken have been great. Expensive, but worth it

Pretty terrible experience, the overall staff was generous and helpful when I needed assistance. This gym has some really stuck up, self righteous/ entitled older members. So unless your geriatric dont go to this gym!!

I really like being a member of this gym. It is always clean and the equipment is always in good order. The staff is friendly and helpful. They pay attention to detail, like having mouthwash in the locker rooms. They really have everything I need. It may seem a bit pricey but to me this place is worth it.

Love the renovations they recently made to this club. The lobby and new cafe are SPARKLING! Cant beat the family atmosphere here, and I love how many different types of people you can see on any given day. Really a place that feels like family.

Acac Albemarle Square is a top notch facility! The renovations that that took place (lobby, cafe, cycle studio, and Kids Zone) have made it even better! Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable - great choice for all of your (and your familys) fitness and wellness needs!

I just keep renewing my membership here. Year after year! This is the cleanest gym Ive ever joined. Friendly, helpful staff. Has state of the ark equipment and a classes available you are sure to want to join. My personal trainer, Pam Finney, has been amazing to work with and is helping me meet the goals I have set.

Love it here. I go for prep class. Fantastic friendly trainers. Helping physical fitness training. Warm water pool. They have any and everything youd need in a gym and spa. Yoga. Step classes. All of it.

After we were offered a Membership for 2 months at a Promo rate for a Physician Referred Exercise Program with my Drs signature which I diligently obtained even when Kelly in the PREP program had some technical issues with her fax. The Manager Kendall Skeen is on a Power Trip and he and Kelly K. had us removed from their gym in the middle of patiently signing up for ACAC with CHUCK in MEMBERSHIP. After that, Kendall called and belligerently told my wife off all because of the blame on the technical issues with their fax. As many other reviews over the recent years have said, the ACAC gym are THE MOST EXPENSIVE GYM in Charlottesville, and they are also THE RUDEST GYM in Charlottesville. If the management would like to improve their reputation for abusive and nasty staff, I suggest that Kendall calls me back today (and without further ado) to apologize, invite us back to ACAC on the Promo that they already offered twice. Thank you!

Best gym around, hands down!!!

What’s amazing about ACAC is how well they stay consistent with a clean friendly space, great staff, and well maintained equipment. There’s tons of classes and the newly remodeled Kid Zone is awesome. Though it’s one the most expensive gyms in town, it’s more than a place to “work out”. Very family friendly.

I attend the gym frequently and am always impressed by how clean it is last week I found that my car would not start so after making the usual calls with no response, I went to the desk and stated my problem two trainers immediately offered their assistance they went above and beyond what I expected so helpful I really appreciated their assistance.A sincere thank you to Chris Lalk and Mike Drew.

Awesome place to go for physical therapy as well as aqua therapy. They has a wonderful 90 degree temperature pool.

The staff was courteous , but its so busy you feel like a piece of cattle being prodded through the chute so more can be loaded in.

Extremely well set up gym, well trained and friendly staff. I stayed for a week and would call this the equinox of the south (but half the cost).keep in shape while on vacation! and enjoy doing it.also they employ some of the best staff ive seen - shout out to the military staff

It sure is nice to have a dry, air conditioned place to exercise when the temperature and humidity soars. The showers are always spotless, too.

Downtown ACAC TAMge best, stFf very helpful friendly, classes exceptional. Went to albamarle location not near as good. Pantops, very small. Downtown cafe, so good, smoothies the best, quaint, love the fireplace sitting area and more comfortable than Starbucks... Roof lounge, wow, view of city, meditation heaven, zero stress. The pool is outstanding, classes there really beneficial.... A complete Gym...

Best gym in town. Has almost everything youd want. The building is a bit small and the machines and weights are crammed in there. They would benefit from a much larger building. A bit pricey, but theyre the only gym in town with all the options we want. Staff is super friendly.

I love my gym. They have a great two month orientation program that really got me into using the gym regularly. The gym is clean and the classes are great. It is more expensive than Golds, but I think you pay for what you get. So if it is in your budget, you should totally check it out.

Recent renovations have spruced up an excellent health club, with all the equipment and classes anyone could want. Broad array of personal trainers. And, excellent Physical Therapy facility with highly skilled therapists.

My only desire is to go to a place and feel that I am being helped. Not saying they dont help it just seems that they are too busy. My only problem is I wish there was a place for people that are really out of shape section and a people that are there for fun section. Because it already is hard to get back in shape but for someone one who is already struggling with appearance issues it is hard to go in there with all those people looking at you and work out. I just need help. Maybe I need a Dr. because this is messing with my head.

I go every day. Great classes, individual exercise machines, spa, physical therapy and swimming pools.

Very happy as a member of ACAC. We joined years ago, and have always had a pleasant experience in their clubs.
