This is a locally-owned business that does great work and cares about their customers experience. They did a great job re-framing my print, and when my own actions caused some minor problems with the frame, the owners went more than the extra mile to make things right. Highly recommended.

The selection of frames here was good (really a much better selection than other shops in town). The qualify of the work done on my project was also good. The service at the shop was, however, rather poor, to the extent that I would not recommend this establishment.First, the framing project took about a month longer than promised. There were various reasons for this, including that some hardware for the frame didnt work as expected, so replacements had to be ordered. I was OK with this--unexpected problems can happen. And, at first, the communication was good--I received an email advising me of the delay, and that the project would be completed within a week. After a week passed without an update, the communication was not as good. I had to ask for updates and then wait for responses. And the delays went on for another several weeks. I understand that the person I was communicating with was ill and out of the shop for several days, but I wish that someone else could have taken over in their absence. In any event, delays happen, and communication isnt always perfect; while I would expect better from a high end shop, these were not deal breakers.Second, and what really was a deal breaker, was that despite my express request when placing my order to keep and return the original 100-year old frame to me, the shop appears to have thrown it away. The reason I went to the frame shop was to replace this damaged frame. Although it was damaged, the frame held sentimental value to me and I went out of my way to ask that it be kept and returned to me and the end of the work. The excuse given was that someone else had put the frame together when the person I was working with was out sick, and presumably had not been told to keep the original frame. I dont expect someone to come in to work when they are ill, but I do expect that the shop should record customer instructions in such a way that whoever was doing the work would have them.When I picked up my framed photos, they did not mention that they had accidentally tossed the old frame; I had to ask what happened to it. When they told me they had thrown it out, I was offered a full refund, but they did not offer to try and find the frame. I asked that, before accepting a refund, some effort be made to see if the frame could be found (i.e. had the trash been put out yet? Could they go through it?) While it was the least that they could do to offer to refund me, I wish that they would have made at least some offer to see if the frame could be found without me asking them to do so.Despite the nice work done on the framing project itself, the lack of care, is something to beware of. I would not recommend getting any work done here.

I took a bridal bouquet of dried flowers there for my sisters Anniversary this year and they made the most beautiful shadow box I have ever seen. The most memorable and perfect gift of all. The colors of the matting matched perfectly with the flowers and the frame was perfect.. I highly recommend these fine folks for anything really special. They are wonderful to work with. If you are looking for framing services in the Charlottesville area there is no need to shop around, this is where you should go.There are good small businesses and great ones, this is a great family owned place. When combined, their level of quality, service and value cannot be matched by other area frame shops.
