Studio IX has been a respite for me for more than years now. Greg Kelly does an outstanding job of creating a cozy and welcoming environment where community thrives while stuff seriously gets done. I especially enjoy working in the Gallery, where the lovingly curated rotating art exhibit continually surprises and inspires. It is also a beautiful event space drawing a serendipitous mix of local artists, entrepreneurs, and educators. Since the start of the pandemic, Studio IX has been a model of consideration and intelligent public health practices. Bravo to Greg and James for keeping this beloved space open, vibrant, and safe!

I came to Studio IX seeking an office, and instead I gained a new sense of “the workplace” - it’s not just my desk-away-from-home, it’s a community, and a trove of resources, personal as well as professional. My business has grown as a result of the relationships that I’ve developed here, for sure. I’ve also become friends with business owners who work in unrelated fields, and we are each empowered by the support we find in one another. Also, it’s a community hub with a beautiful event space. Hardly a week goes by without an interesting, member-friendly event (art installation openings, concerts/live radio show broadcasts, speakers). And the Art Park and all of its entertaining, healthy quirkiness is just steps away.Critically, the coffee is really, really good.

Studio IX is my home away from home. Whether its for hosting volunteer meetings, making a private work call on Zoom, or meeting a friend for coffee, Studio IX is where Im most comfortable.Ive also hosted a large community event in the Gallery and Café. I brought in catered food and drinks in the cafe and then hosted a concert, film, and discussion in the Gallery. It was the perfect space for 50 people—open enough for everyone to have a seat and tight enough that it felt like the place to be that night. It was a huge success.I recommend Studio IX to friends regularly and have found some of my closest friends in the city there. The space and the community (and the coffee!) are what make it my second home.

Art and space lovely as ever. I was taken aback by the honor cafe but its fine - seems like its a different vendor (or no vendor) every time I get over there the past few years.

After thirty years of working out of a home office, I desperately needed a change of scenery. An hour into my first day at Studio Ix, I knew I had landed in the right place. Comfortable office facilities. Attentive staff. Plenty of space. After-hours art and music events. Plus a friendly and diverse community of entrepreneurs and creative types. I only wish I had joined Studio Ix sooner!Kathi Ann BrownMilestones Historical Consultants

The most awesome find in Charlottesville in recent memory. Compared with trying to work & study at various coffeehouses, deciding to join Studio IX was a no-brainer.

Few work spaces offer a variety of membership options, outdoor seating, conference room space, and amazing coffee. Studio IX includes all of the aforementioned plus its a great community. To my luck Studio IX opened in December 2014 right around the same time as I was launching a research project working with teachers. We were able to use the conference room space for team meeting and trainings. The teachers reported that they loved coming to Studio IX (I think it had to do with the Grit coffee). I am running another study this fall and we will be using Studio IX again. The space is centrally located downtown Charlottesville, VA, provides free parking, and has a cafe on-site.

Meeting rooms are small and stuffy. Food choices are extremely limited. Good for individuals, but groups do not fit well.

Studio IX is a fabulously atmospheric co-working space in a converted textile mill located in the heart of the hip new arts district of downtown Charlottesville. The curated mixture of materials and subdivision of spaces inside provide lots of neutral texture & variety for any motivational mood, and there is great value in being surrounded by other passionately productive people. I recommend anyone curious stop in for the grand tour.

I knew I would like co-working (as opposed to working from home/the library/coffee shops), but I was surprised at how much I LOVE working out of Studio IX! You get a free coffee with your membership (and its a nice quality brew), lighting fast internet, scanning, printing, everything you need, including cool co-workers. Theres a nice indoor patio, comfy chairs, and even a standing desk. Has increased my productivity exponentially.

I was in from out of town with a group of co-workers and in need of a meeting space for the day. We would normally rent a small conference room in a hotel, but Studio IX was a VAST improvement in every way possible. Cheaper, amazingly friendly and helpful staff, a welcoming and colorful vibe compared to the normal drab experience that comes with more traditional meeting options, no nickel-and-dime upcharges for things like A/V. All in all, I cant recommend Studio IX enough.

I just returned to New Haven after a great few weeks working out of Studio IX. My summer MBA internship brought me to Charlottesville and I needed to find a separate desk to work out of in Charlottesville last minute. Luckily a quick Google search found me Studio IX and after a brief call with Greg, they found a way to accommodate me last minute. I had a dedicated desk and really enjoyed the casual yet professional environment, where everyone was extremely friendly and I actually made a few professional & personal contacts in my short time there. I have nothing but great things to say about Studio IX/the IX area and I was glad to hear whenever I told my Charlottesville-based friends where I was working out of that Studio IX already has a great reputation around town!

Great shared office place with a cool coffee shop.Ive been at Studio iX for three years now and its become my home base, because its such a wonderful atmosphere and productive place. All the expected amenities to get work done, free parking out front, bright/light space to work, friendly staff, and interesting co-workers.What I particularly like is the combination of community building and exposure to local artists, because Studio iX has changing exhibits in their gallery, with opening nights. Plus talks from other members of the community and monthly happy hours. It can easily measure up against WeWork and any other coworking place (Im also a WeWork member and use their spaces in cities across the country, but in Charlottesville its always Studio iX).The coffee shop roasts its own beans on premise! Fantastic quality and a team thats obsessed with making phenomnal coffee/espresso!Highly Recommend!!
