I come here every Friday for the cheap corona. The staff already know me and since I give out very good tips. I get first class service lol. Great place for socializing.

Great barkeeps. Very crowded on a Friday night. Dont climb on the bar or you get the shaft like this poor sap. Kind of confusing finding the place if youve never been.

Pretty good place to watch UFC fights. Drink prices/specials were good. We did have a mix up on our tab, but the bartender took her time and made it right!

Security was rude.Ask him a question not once but twice and they didn’t answer me but was quick to tell me the other area that we went to was closed. So I took my business to the American pub next door where they have cheap drinks and amazing mozzarella sticks

Been going here for years. Got turned away for the first time because of some new shoe policy. No basketball shoes allowed and I guess all AF1s are not allowed, even though I watched them let someone else get in with the same shoes. Not sure why a pool hall bar with games has a shoe policy but beware.

Came for my 21 birthday. The bartenders are extremely down to earth.

Bouncer and manager were horrible. Celebrating a bachelor party and one of the guest was refused entry. Was very rude about how it was done. For a group from out of town it has left a bad mark on an otherwise great night. Will never go here

COOL PLACE TO HANG OUT

Very cool concept to a bar. I wish I had something like this in my hometown. Fun social ice breakers with the games available to play. I think we might have the record for highest jenga tower with the least amount of blocks. :D

I use to love Slate! However, with the management and rules I will not be going back. Crowds are too wild and security is biased to fans. Overall very dissatisfied and have better options right Football Sunday!

Went to this club after the Panthers vs. Bills game. Had an AWESOME time. Walked in and was able to speak to a bartender almost instantly. Was bought a drink by a person standing next to me (even though I dont drink, just go out to socialize). Most people were good looking. The crowd was about 21-27 in age but mostly young professionals. DJ played good music. People were cool. Diverse crowd. No issues.

This was a very active place on a Saturday night. There was no cover and there were mostly younger people here. The bartenders were fast. It is a big place with music and some attempts at dancing. I noticed pool tables around but didnt realize until now that it is a billiard hall. It felt like a club with some pool tables scattered about.

Do not stop by if ur not from here(felt like it), the staff dont even care to atleast talk to u. Very very rude customer service.... hated this place .... not gona visit again ever....!!!

I went for Sunday football the atmosphere is great, however I hate the fact that the bartender literally overcharged me for drinks because I paid cash at first. But then I went with another bartender and got the same drinks for 3 dollars cheaper? Kind of ruined the experience from me.

Really enjoy this bar. Like that theyve got pingpong table, pool table, and other games. Drink prices are slightly on the pricey side. It gets crowded on weekends but never too ridiculous. Bouncers are nice. Have always had fun here.

We met up and the Panthers game was on, which was cool, especially since there were other games and golf playing on a few of the smaller screens (there are a lot of screens). There were plenty of things to do (skeeball, jenga, pool, ping-pong, etc.) and a few places to sit if you wanted to. The alcohol selection was like any other bar -- you could get mixed drinks or beer (including low-priced specials). It was a cool place in a good location. It only lost one star because it was so loud inside that my ears were ringing when I left.

Love the low-key environment inside. If youre not in to clubs then this is the place for you. Billiards, giant Jenga, giant Connect 4, and ping pong as well as arcade games are available to play. Drinks are a little pricey but tolerable. Would definitely recommend.

Great music choice in my opinion. Decent drink prices with awesome bartenders. 3 or 4 pool tables, free of charge. Table tennis, ect. Large place with tons of room, inside and out to lounge and meet people, hang out with friends. Will be returning for sure

This bar is awesome if you enjoy 25 male hipsters grinding up against you at all times. The bar is awesome if you enjoy horrible music blasting in your ear the whole time you are there. Parking is awesome too btw.

Extremely poor experience with Slates security and manager. This was my first time going and my party (7 ppl) was excited about being able to continue my friends bachelor party weekend. The security at the door stated that the new SC ID of one of my party members was fake. He didnt recognize the new format of the SC id. We asked to speak with the manager. Brandon, who said he was the manager on duty, didnt even look at the id before he stated that it was a fake as well, and explained that he already checked my friends id and cross referenced it with acceptable forms within 5 seconds of meeting us. This was an embarrassment to your establishment, and I would never recommend anyone to patronize this place. Poor discretion from management and security alike.

The bartenders were rude with poor customer service. They hold your card to open a tab, however when you go to get the card back be careful because they gave me the wrong persons card and then when I told her it wasnt mine she had an attitude with me and said she doesnt have my card. They basically lost my card or gave it to the wrong person and then got an attitude as if its my problem and they are too busy to figure it out. Another issue I had was the people walking around cleaning up drinks kept trying to throw away my drink, which was annoying because it was right next to me and half full still. Other than that the place was fun and offered more than your typical bar or pool hall, but the card and experience with the bartender really ruined the entire experience!

I loved Slate when it opened, but all the tables are in need of repair. Its an ok place to hang out, but most will prefer All American for anything except Friday/Saturday nights when everything is packed

I was at a sority semi formal holding a water with lime in it and a bouncer forcibly removed me from the bar. I asked him to smell or taste my drink to show him it was only water and he told me the bartenders don’t serve water in the cup I was drinking. However, if this man had simply taken seconds to investigate the situation he would have know it was water and he would have not lifted me up and carried me from the bar. I will be in contract with management about this barbaric behavior and hope to see this bouncer fired. This establishment takes nothing in to account when hiring their personnel. I cannot believe that they hire employees that put hands on customers without first even questioning the circumstances. I was highly displeased with my time there and hope to see retribution in the near future.

Came to this place to enjoy the game and play some pool. Guy at the door turns away one of my buddies who have a real ID stating that it was fake. The guy had no problem with his ID anywhere else in Charlotte. The id had started to peel a little from normal wear and tear. Same ID. They refused to recognize the hologram or had any other form of id verification. They call the manager and he doesnt even really look at the id but says that its fake and walks back into the bulding. This was the worst customer service that ive received my entire bachelor party weekend. I definitely dont recomment anyone going to an establishment that treats people this way. Definitely will not return. Needless to say me and my entire party left. Today they Missed a lot of money and a good time.

The Southend equivalent of a dive bar. Great for cheap drinks, loud music and bar fights. If youre lucky and tall, you can get the bartenders attention at the always crowded bar.

This is a great club for college age millennials, sports guys, beer buffs, pool hall types and forty somethings. TVs everywhere with indoor and outdoor appeal for everyone...loud, current music and lots of seating (I love clubs with tons of seating). Bring your whoever, pick your spot and have a blast. Bartenders are great and good food here too.

Very relaxed pool hall uptown. Nice location plenty of space. Ordered the chicken tenders and tots, which were very good. Only down fall is everything is first come first serve so that can be a problem when its crowded. But definetly a fun atmosphere. Ill be back.

Plenty of games from ping-pong to giant Jenga. The layout is always changing to keep things fresh and accommodate new activities.

Slate is a place where you can go whether you planned or not. A Saturday night at Slate could easily start out as just a night out for drinks, and friendly competition with pool, ping pong, Foosball or if youre feeling risky-jumbo jenga. It helps that theyre a dancing club, and food options literally next door. Slate can be a starting or ending point for a great night.
