My spouse and I LOVED Palmer Street when we lived in South End and I’ve made a point to visit every time I’ve been back in town! Knowledgeable bar tenders to help navigate the great draft beer lineup and loads of classic video arcade games. Nice and dark and chill space. Galaga!

Really a great setup here for a modestly sized arcade bar. Definitely a great alternative to some of the other options in Charlotte that are a bit off target for a real gamer hangout spot. Perfect balance of games and brews, including some of the staples that even novice gamers would recognize or easily enjoy. Owners presence and passion adds a nice touch with every visit.

Now the Vibe and Setup for this bar is Unique! Probably the only bar where I might consider bringing my kid. The retro feel is palpable and the drinks arent bad!Check it out if youre in Town!

Still one of my top favorite places! On top of air hockey... Skeeball...classic arcades and pinball...they have consoles! Most importantly Mario kart 64 on a TV! Kids are allowed but not after 8:30 or 9:00 I think. Its an awesome place to spend an afternoon with kids or an evening having beer and Mario kart competitions! Chris is super awesome and you can tell he cares about maintaining the place.

Palmer Street is the best barcade in Charlotte. Its not the biggest or the flashiest - its the best. All the games are original cabinets and the owner really cares about everything from working on the games to the customers that show up. Drink prices are perfect, and the atmosphere is expertly matched with the theme of the bar. Check out this hidden gem as soon as you can.

I LOVE this place! Only got to go for about an hour, one night, about a half a year ago, but we played as many as games as we could fit in, and it was great! Would love to see a place like this opened near me!

We loved this arcade bar! Weve been to Abari and Luckys and this is way better than both of those. The space is very well decorated and much nicer than most arcade bars. A lot of the games are set to free play which is really nice. Pinball is 50 cents. They have a good selection of local craft beer and cider on tap. Their pretzels are amazing and $5 during happy hour specials. I tried the crispy bacon pretzel, jalapeño cheddar pretzel bites, and the Rocky sandwich. The bread was very fresh and we loved it all. The cranberry blood orange cider on tap was one of the best ciders I’ve ever had. It had a lot of flavor and was dry. In addition to the traditional games, they also had foosball, air hockey, a boxing game, and skee ball. We went for a happy hour on Thursday and it was not at all crowded. I would highly recommend checking this place out! I’ll definitely be back!

Very friendly and cool place. the parking lot is a bit small and people park their scooters in the middle of the entrance which is annoying. plenty of things to do with a decent draft list. seems like they have specials for cocktails and beers almost every day.

I arrived at 6pm and they had sign on door saying closed until 545 due to power being out but the power was clearly on inside.... Wouldnt pick up phone... Sucks for me as i was from out of townand i wasted $20 lyft ride to get there

This place is great! Chris the owner is passionate about his games & set them up in a great place. Going there the first time might be a little tricky to find, but totally worth it.Great selection of around 20 tap beers that kick butt. Well thought out beer menu.Theyve got a dozen pinball machines in there and they play great. I met the guy who takes care of them (Joe) & he really knows what hes doing.Everybody feels comfortable here. And you can have kids in there until 9 p.m. I highly recommend it. Ill be back soon!

Coworker and I stopped in to check out the place then returned for a quick beer and some games on another day. Because they arent a restaurant they require a lifetime membership, for exactly $1. There are tons of pinball machines here that are $.50 a game, as of this writing there is a free PBR pinball machine. With that said, there is a fairly large selection of completely free arcade games. Like you pay nothing. Meaning you walk up to a well cared for machine, and you play it without giving money. Mortal combat, Pacman, PGA tour, teenage mutant Ninja turtles, Mario Cart, Galaga, and many more. Why this place wasnt slammed is a mystery to me.

I had a great experience here today. I went with my boyfriend and its a great little spot to have some quick fun before heading out or making it your final destination. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The best part was that all the classic games are free!! You can play as long as you want and the games you do have to pay are just a quarter. I will definitely be returning.

Ive never been to an arcade bar so this was a first. This is honestly some of the most fun Ive had in awhile. Playing Mario cart with my friends was a fun trip down memory lane. You gotta check this place out if you like to have a good time.

This place is awesome. I dont get here often but when I do I enjoy it.

It is does not serve food anymore, and you have to become a member to technical go in, but you just sign up and it is a dollar a year. Other then that my friends went to have a good time and were going to stay an hour and then find a place to eat, we stayed 2 hours and could have stayed more we werent hungry.

Cool place to go. All games are free to play except ski ball, air hockey, and pinball. $1 membership fee. Only thing that i didnt like is that I wasnt asked if Id like my tab closed on the card i gave. It was automatically charged. Drinks are fairly priced. Overall, a good time.

A cute little hidden gem! When I first moved to Charlotte i use to love coming to Palmers because of the free (or extremely cheap) games. Now most of the games cost money and the experience is not as exciting. The beer selection is decent but unfortunately it doesn’t make up for the $1 games they have set up. I preferred this place much more when most everything was free and they weren’t trying to be too up to date with their game selections.

The food here is surprisingly good as is the local beer selection.But you came here for the games, didnt you? Well you wont be disappointed either because unlike Abari, the games are all in good condition and actually work. Oh and did I mention that most of the classic games are free?But do them a solid and buy a beer and some food while youre there.

Fun place! Loved playing the pinball machines. Was bummed that the Star Wars one didnt work, but there were plenty of other really cool options. Most of the arcade games were free which is a nice feature! The beer selection was great and the bartender was very good. Location is a bit off the beaten path, but so worth a visit. We went on a Friday night but there were very few people there. Its right around the corner folks. Go! I want to see this place succeed!

Palmer St has a solid selection of local beers to go along with a fantastic collection of (free!) games. The building renovation was beautifully done and the bar staff are friendly--what more could you ask for?Also, the beers and games are constantly rotating, so theres an excuse to go 4 times a week like I do :)

All the classic games (pacman, space invaders) are free and pinball machines are $.50. There are also some fighting games which cost money. Plus, skeeball and air hockey. The selection of beer is decent, too. You must have a membership, but a lifetime membership is a dollar or two and can be added to your tab.

My first choice and my wifes first choice on the menu were unavailable. If you have a limited menu, you probably shouldnt run out of ingredients. This place has a lot of potential, but there are still several kinks that need to be worked out. No way to get cash or quarters although they say an ATM is coming. Bring your cash beforehand to avoid fees.

I liked this place a lot. They have craft beers on tap, bottled kombucha and PBR for the discerning palate. I decided to have our meetup here last night and it worked out almost perfectly. It was almost like a private party as there were only 1 or 2 other people there at a time while we were there. Chris, I hope you get that Asteroids machine fixed soon. An old time popcorn machine would be great in here. Theres not a lot of extra room, but a breakdancing battle night would be awesome too.

This place is rockin. As long you are 21 or are under 21 accompanied by a guardian, play all the arcade games you want! Pinball and skeeball are 50 cents though. Excellent staff. They know what they have. Games will be rotated in and out, so which keeps the place fresh.They also have a House of the Dead machine in storage, but owner tells me it has audio problems, so well see how that goes. Then this will get a 6 star! :)Need an arcade fix? Come over here or to Abari,; you wont regret it.
