Bryn was awesome! She is very personable and made the whole experience enjoyable. I had her change the size and placement of the template a couple times before we got started and she was patient and easy going. My daughter and I got tattoos together and Bryn did them both. We love how they turned out! The shop is clean and decorated eclectically...super cool. Pleasant environment. Highly recommended!

The staff I spoke with were very kind and professional. It was my first tattoo and they made me feel comfortable in the space. Me and my tattoo artist, Bryn, had a good conversation during the appointment which made it more bearable! She really made sure the placement was correct and font size of my tattoo was what I wanted before making it permanent. Great place!

I am blown away with the work that Aaron Lewis has done at Canvas Tattoo. He brought to life a Disney half sleeve that I had no idea where to begin. He was very thorough with the design process from start to finish and I will confidently say that I will be coming to him for all of my tattoos from here on out! It’s very hard to find good quality tattoo work anymore. I STRONGLY recommend this shops professionalism and quality over any shop around.

I sent in my ideas to the owner and he recommended Marcus based on the detail required for this sleeve. I have had multiple appointments with Marcus and will have a few more as we put a rather large piece together. Truly incredible experience for my memorial tattoo for my cat Max that passed 3 weeks ago. I checked them out online and called in with no idea who I wanted to work with. The shop manager explained that they dont typically recommend an artist, but after hearing what I wanted, suggested I schedule a consultation with Bryn.Bryn is one of the sweetest, most awesome, genuinely kind souls on this planet. She truly brought my idea to life. I had an appointment for 1:00 pm,I arrived early because I knew I had to fill out paperwork. When I got done with my paperwork I waited for my tattoo artist on the front porch to call me back. I saw him pull in at exactly 1:00, when he greeted me on the porch. I thought he was going to take me back and start my tattoo. He told me he was going to lunch,now keep in mind they open up at 12:00. After waiting for 40 minutes and still waiting to be taken back I had enough and told them I was leaving. My wife was there a week earlier and had the same experience with her artist. Dont get me wrong, her tattoo is awesome and she loves it. But I feel they treated us like our time is not valuable.

Have had 4 sessions so far, 1 more to go and many more tattoos to come in the future. Canvas is welcoming, has fantastic artists, and deserves 5-stars all around :)

Joey soft hands Ces is definitely the best artist I have been too since getting my first tattoo. He truly appreciates his art craft which means everything when getting something permanently stamped on your body. Overall the establishment was extremely clean and professional. 99/100 Experience !!!!

Wow I recently visited this shop during a business trip to Charlotte, NC. I did not have time to obtain my desired tattoo but I told myself that on a future visit I need to revisit this shop. I have military friends that reside in the Charlotte, NC area and this shop comes highly recommended. The personnel are very professional, kind, and courteous. I got my first tattoo at Canvas a few years ago with Zac (at a different shop now) and I’ve gotten 2 more since, one with Brad and one with Elisa and every piece is PERFECT. The artists are all wonderfully talented and really kind and fun to be around. They each make you feel welcome and at ease, whether it’s your first time or 100th time getting ink. Each of my pieces was designed with care and they made sure I was 100% happy with their drawing before my appointment. Could not recommend them more and will be back again soon! (Shout out to Brad and Elisa, pretty sure y’all are my artists of choice for life!)

Brad Yow was amazing from start to finish. I was super nervous for my first tattoo but he made it such an enjoyable, painless experience, not to mention he is incredibly talented! He brought my vision to life—to memorialize my sweet cat of almost 15 years that I lost to cancer back in June. He gets to know who you are as a person, what the piece means to you and then creates a masterpiece based on that. He has a forever client with me Thank you a million times over Brad!

Bryn has done an amazing job on all my tattoos and the place itself is very clean and professional. I’ve gotten all my tattoos (10 of them) here and it’s been a great experience. My husband had gotten a tattoo with them in 2018, and he wanted the same guy now, but it took 8 months for them to even call us back about a consultation, then the guy was 30 minutes late once we finally made an appointment. Very unprofessional and a good way to scare off repeat customers. Never going again and would not recommend.

She was amazing my friend drew my tattoo and I sent it to Elisa and she cleaned it up so nice while keeping the original design and concept. I will definitely be returning in the near future.

Aaron Thomas did my tattoo on my arm. I was so particular about what I wanted and he listened and NAILED it. I have been to Canvas Tattoo & art Gallery 3 times in the last 4 months and they have worked me in for an appt with my fav artist the next day each time. The shop is insanely clean with a sanitizing station outside for you and your phone. The staff is courteous and all have masks on, the inside is spacious, and I felt very comfortable being there for hours. Joey does amazing work (as do all the artists from what I can tell), and I plan to go back soon to get more work done!

My artist is Puff Smith. He does a great job tattooing & I couldnt have picked a better person. Hes the best!

Canvas is an amazing place to get a tattoo, no matter if its your first tattoo or just adding to your sleeve. I got my first tattoo here from Michael Barnhill and he did an amazing job. The consultation was very simple and easy he knew exactly what I wanted even though I only had a few concepts and couldnt necessarily visualize it myself. Be prepared though if there is an appointment before yours. Everyone is different and how they react when getting a tattoo is different. I had an extra hour wait because the person before me had an issue sitting still, but the wait was well worth it! I definitely plan to keep coming back for my future tattoos.

After we discussed the sketch, he added a little more detail, printed it out, and we started. He talked to me throughout the whole process and helped me understand the aftercare as well. Before I started getting my tattoos explicitly from Canvas Tattoo & Art Gallery, Id been to two other places. My first tattoo was done in a very small college town in Illinois and another was done in Boston while I was visiting a friend. Both of these experiences left me loving tattoos, but the feel and experiences left something to be desired.After moving to North Carolina and looking high and low for a new tattoo shop I discovered Canvas. Needless to say I will never be going anywhere else unless under duress. Everyone at the shop does amazing work. Seriously, they can take any idea you make and make it extra special and unique. The artists are all super nice and personable and make the experience of getting something permanently marked into your skin into something enjoyable (despite the needles being stabbed into your arm (Ow!!)).Another major difference for me between the other two tattoo shops Ive been to is the healing process. After being tattooed the lovely people of Canvas use whats called Saniderm. That stuff should be illegal its so awesome. It takes away all the human error or the other methods Ive used, which let me tell you, before Canvas left a lot to be desired. My first artist sent me out on the street with no bandage and the second wrapped my leg up so pitifully I bled all over my clothes. Saniderm takes all of that out and leaves me honestly craving another tattoo almost as soon as the dang thing is off. I love it.Seriously, any tattoo shop you go to, you need to look at the artists work and prices and whatever else before you make a decision like putting something permanent on your body. That being said the range of artistic talent at Canvas is amazing and the environment and rapport between the artist and the client is something Ive never seen anywhere else. There is a very legitimate reason why they are voted Best Tattoo Shop.

Puff is fixing my wifes tattoo that originally started at another shop but my wifes vision and the tattoo artists vision differed. Puff has been extremely patient and has worked hard to get my wife what she wants! He is a true artist! We have atleast one more sitting but are blown away at how he has brought this tattoo to life. Cant wait for him to start my sleeve. The staff and artists are friendly, caring, and extremely talented. I had some idea of what I wanted and he took what we discussed in our consultation and came back with exactly what I had in mind. When I went in for the tattoo, he was great with explaining exactly what was going to happen. The finished product was really well done. Overall, I was very impressed with everyone I interacted with. It was a great experience.

After doing a ton of research on artists and studios in the Charlotte area I was very excited to go to Canvas for my first tattoo! I had the pleasure of working with Brad who took time to listen to my ideas and ended up creating the most beautiful design which exceeded my expectations. When it came time for my actual appointment, I had a great experience from beginning to end. Brad made sure I was comfortable and continued to check in throughout the process, explaining what he was doing along the way. Everyone I interacted with at the studio was so kind and respectful, and definitely kept me entertained. The time flew by, and the finished piece is absolutely gorgeous. This was my first experience with Canvas Tattoing. But not with the Artist Eric Smith (AKA Puff), he has been doing my ink now for over 10 years. Puff does the styles of what I like inked on me, very detailed and professional. There is nothing Puff can’t do, when it comes to ink work.The location of Canvas Tattoing is exactly where it needs to be and it fits in, with that location. The staff is professional, and fun to be around. I sat for a few hours and would walk around and the other artist would let me watch. Absolutely love this place, and Puff is the whole reason I came.

Great atmosphere, fun and engaging staff. We went for my daughters first tattoo and they did a great job making her comfortable and counseling her on her design. The work space is clean and professional. Everyone there seemed very knowledgeable and interested in their craft.

The online ratings attracted me to Canvas. And it really lived up to the ratings! My tattoo idea was turned down by a few shops so my expectations were very low to get what I wanted and I already mentally settled on what I thought they’d be able to do. Great experience. Would highly recommend. Brad Yow went the extra mile to be sure a very simple design was placed and positioned exactly correctly. Took him 15 min to do the tattoo yet he patiently took and hour and a half to be sure placement was perfect.

My husband and I were both planning on getting a tattoo (different ones) and wanted to research the artist we wanted separately. Once we both decided, we revealed it to one another and much to our surprise we both had picked Dallas at Canvas. Dallas was AWESOME! We met with him and shared inspiration for what we wanted and made an appointment for a few weeks later. When we came in, we were quickly greeted by Dallas with our designs and were both incredibly pleased with what he came up with. He was very careful to make sure that the placement and the design of the tattoos were exactly what we wanted and we were both surprised at how quickly the time went by. I chose a mountain design with delicate lines across my right forearm that I am absolutely in love with. It is an incredible addition to my growing collection of tattoos. My husband chose a solar system design with color on his bicep as his first ever tattoo and needless to say hes ready to show it off. We cant recommend Dallas enough!

I called a few months in advance to schedule a tattoo for three of my family members to get as a surprise for our mother. A few weeks before the appointment, a fourth family member wanted to join. We werent sure if there would be time, but Dallas was quick and efficient, and all four were successfully done. He even put the stencil on my mother, who cannot medically get a tattoo. I had the best experience getting my first tattoo! I was a walk in and was not turned away. Marcus took my idea and made it absolutely beautiful! I am very pleased and ready for more!

I had an awesome experience. The shop smelled so clean, looked incredible, and made me feel very comfortable. The staff was fantastic as well; very flexible and skilled. Brad did my tattoo, and Aaron tattooed my friend: awesome people and our tattoos look sick. Its also healing very nicely. You can definitely trust them to make your next ink look rad, unique to you, and all around well done. Super grateful to have this experience, 12/10 would recommend!

Got my first tattoo with Dallas today. He was super knowledgeable. Answered every question I had, explained the correct way to do a tattoo, and guided me in the right direction. Since it was my first time I was nervous AF, we had great conversation and I was amazed at how quick it all was. From start to finish, I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you Dallas! Will definitely be back for my second tattoo.
