Great views and great location. Looking forward to returning to hanging out here when the 2020 pandemic finally lets up. Always great hitting up the farmers market or just enjoying the outdoors.

Marion Square is one of my favorite parks in Charleston. It is great to have this wide open green space in the middle of everything to find a quiet spot to sit, walk, read, lay out, have a picnic, have a meeting, or get some work done. Marion Square has good wifi that is useful when you need to connect. This is also a great event space several times a year where some of my favorite big events in Charleston are held and it is perfect for that purpose and seems to fit everything just right. There is also a lot of history to this site as you can feel all of the years of Charleston surround you any time of the day. Overall this is a really awesome park that I like to visit and use regularly and enjoy.

This was a small market with a few interesting crafts and products for sale from pet collars and pet clothing accessories to raw honey, cookies, and sausage to coasters, unique name plates, and paintings. There was a section like a food court too. The park was in the middle of a square that had a couple monuments, a fountain, and a pretty church around it. They also had some carolers, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and a large tree decoration that you could walk under.

Beautiful green space. People if all ages. Walking. Playing frisbee. History markers are informative. Some trash. Few people who appeared to be homeless sleeping on benches. Felt safe. We were there during daylight hrs.

This is a very nice part. Its in the middle of the downtown, close to shopping and the historic French quarter. Plenty of space to relax or just play it in the grass with a beautiful fountain. I walked my dog there often. My wife and I like to take leisurely strolls through it too. I highly recommend it.

Ventured down to Charleston for the day, walked the streets and came upon this spot. Took a seat just a little while to enjoy the breeze. I love the greenery, and the monuments, it was very peaceful and beautiful. I would definitely stop here again.

I love this place, I used to climb the base of the Calhoun statue with my late wife and drink while we sang songs. I also asked her to marry me under the magnolia tree right next to it. It is an absolute travesty that the city council had the audacity to get rid of the statue. Especially since the street is still named after the man. I’m very very disappointed in our town and local government for caving in to such a small vocal group of radicals. Makes me sick, they deserve to give up the entire city to people that would rule with backbone.

Marion Square is a wonderful park to take a walk or have a picnic. If you need some fresh air this is a great place to breathe. A great landmark in downtown Charleston. Centrally located, it is the perfect spot to take a break from the city hustle and relax, before hitting some more shops and restaurants of course. There are plenty of nice benches to sit on in the shade, and a nice grassy field to lay out on a blanket or play frisbee and games with friends. The farmers market is always a great time, so many wonderful local vendors! It is a truly colorful display of the authenticity the city has to offer. There is a Holocaust Memorial which gives the park even more meaning in promoting tolerance and standing against acts of hatred and violence. During the winter, the park really lights up with a giant and bright Christmas tree. It is truly magical. This park has a lot to offer, and creates a strong sense of community. Definitely worth the walk.

Spending time in the historical downtown area of Charleston is a treat in itself. The open market on Saturdays is a great way to pick up locally grown fruits and vegetables and products made with organic products. Goat cheese is a favorite of mine. The local farmers offer it as well as having many other vendors on site, makes for an enjoyable outdoor shopping experience

Va
Review №62

Used to be a nice park until the homeless people situation got out of hand. I thought there were some kind of rules against just sleeping on the ground or near amenities in a public park, but Ive watched security guards and cops walk by without taking action so I guess its not against any kind of policy. Which is really unfortunate unless you want homeless people in all of your park photos.
