My wife and I loved this escape room! We did the Lavinia Fishers Boarding House, just the two of us and we were able to escape with 8 minutes to spare. It was our first time visiting Charleston and it was great to be able to do an escape room rooted in the history of the city. The next time we come and visit we definitely will come back to try out the Apothecary room.

Had such a fun time at Time Traveler Escape Rooms today. We did Dr. Trotts Apothecary room. Host Lance was awesome, funny and knowledgeable. Rooms were super clean. Puzzles were all different and really took teamwork to figure some out. Great double date with my sister and brother in law! We will be back to try the other rooms.

My brother and I completed the Apothecary room today. The puzzles were interesting and had a great flow throughout the room. Our gamemaster Megan was fantastic. She made the experience super fun and was very engaging with us. I cant wait to come visit again and try the other two rooms.

Awesome experience! The escape rooms are based off Charleston history so it makes a great activity for anyone visiting or who wants to know more about where they live. The owner was extremely pleasant. Will definitely go back!

We had a blast! I’m not very adventurous and my wife talked me into going. So much fun . Megan was awesome. Way more fun than tours we went on. Do yourself a favor and do it as a couple or a group!

My husband and I are escape game enthusiasts and in Charleston for one night. We stumbled across Time Travelers Escape Game in-line and booked The Apothecary. Meghan was so welcoming, kind, and a great game master. The room was well designed, the locks were specifically chosen for the time period of the room, and the theme taught us something new about Charleston. I definitely recommend this local gem!

We did Dr Trott’s Apothecary as a belated Fathers Day present. We all had a lot of fun! There were some things that the veterans hadn’t seen before, but it wasn’t so challenging that our ‘virgin’ wasnt able to participate. We had a blast... the atmosphere was great, and Meghan was an awesome game master. She was energetic and friendly: you can tell she really wants her customers to have the best time possible in her rooms. I can’t wait to go back and try the other two!

Super Fun. Family friendly. Just the right amount of challenges to not be terribly difficult but kept everyone engaged and really thinking. Staff was amazing! Courteous and helpful. Will definitely be going again.

Me and a friend visited Charleston recently and tried the Lavinia Fisher Boarding House room. It was very atmospheric and the puzzles were challenging, but the owner was who really made the game above and beyond. She was so fun and super helpful. We really wanted to do the Apothecary room but ran out of time on our trip. Next time in Charleston, Time Traveler Escape Games is first on our list!!

We have done multiple escape rooms. This is hands down the best. You can tell that the owners have taken much time and thought into every aspect. From the construction and detail to the clues and game itself. Megan was amazing and a awesome person. They truly care about your experience!!! You need to visit them! They are awesome!!!

Hands down coming back again. My husband brought me for some birthday fun and we did the Lavinia Fisher room. Cherish led our game and she was so welcoming and fun. The waiting space is a nice place to relax and have a drink (yes, you can buy alcohol to get yourself in the mystery solving frame of mind AND you can bring that drink right on into the room while you Sherlock Holmes your way through solving everything in one hour... or attempting to solve it in one hour). The game itself is hard, but you can ask for as many clues as you need to while in the room (the guide is not in the room with you, but pipes in over a speaker). We will be going back again to do another room and I suggest you book a reservation as well!

I love how the room tied into Charleston’s history and really made you feel like you were traveling back in time. Highly recommend! A must do when visiting Charleston.

I highly recommend this escape room experience . I went with my family, we were a group of 6. We didnt choose to book the private room because we figured it was unlikely that a group of 2 would join us, and we were right. The escape room attendant, Lance, was exceptionally friendly. He provided us with a humorous and informative introduction, perfectly controlled guidance during the game, and excellent comments once the game ended.

Lance was an awesome host! My family had such a fun time and the space was very nice as well. We thought that the escape room itself was challenging but definitely doable with some help. It was also very enjoyable to have the escape room relate back to Charleston history! Would definitely recommend :)

We had a great time at Time Traveler Escape Games. We went through the Lavinia Fishers Boarding House room. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We appreciated the variety of puzzles involved. I wont give details/spoilers but it was so much better than other places that are padlock after padlock. This room combined the room ambiance and puzzles. The historical tie to Charleston was cool. I highly recommend this company and we will be back to try the other rooms.

Second time visiting this location. Three rooms, each with different theme.Fun & challenging. Looking forward to playing The Spy Who Loves Me.Cherish is a great game master, when you want/need a clue, thats just what you get is a clue (not the straight out answer). Serving beer, wine & soda is a bonus.

This is a wholly unique escape room experience. Its very challenging although there are unlimited hints and guidance throughout the room if desired. You can drink beverages in the room including the alcohol sold at the establishment. There are also no combination locks.It was a lot of fun, and I cannot wait to go back.

A spectacular place to have some fun. The puzzles are intuitively challenging and the management is incredibly kind.

Had an awesome time! Went with a small group of ladies for a bachelorette party. Lance and Cherish were patient, sweet, witty, and very accommodating! The room we played was a good challenge as well, with an interesting story line and puzzles. I would highly suggest checking them out when in Charleston!

This is the first escape room we did after the covid lockdown ended and I was very impressed with their sanitation measures. Everything was very clean and there was hand sanitizer available in the main lobby. The game itself was a lot of fun and challenging - we had a great time and the host was amazing! We will definitely be back again soon, thank you for the great experience :)

We came here for my 13 year olds birthday and it was great! The place is really nice and the experience was perfect. The staff are friendly and fun! Love the stories that are integrated into the history of Charleston.

The host was wonderful and offered helpful hints that still didnt spoil the fun. Slightly spooky but not scary. First time playing an escape room, but played with others who were experienced, and the story line and clues were challenging but not impossible, even for a beginner. Overall, so much fun!

Lance was funny, helpful in a not-giving-spoilers way. The room was nonlinear, allowing a group of 6 to work somewhat independently to advance the puzzle. The puzzles ranged in difficulty from obvious but not obvious, to so difficult we had to use a lifeline. We succeeded and it was the most fun escape room weve ever done. Highly recommend!

It was the first time that our family did any escape room and it was really fun. The whole product took was organized really well. Meghan was great, encouraging us and being a great photographer when we were done.

We came to Charleston for a spooky filled weekend in October. However it started to rain so we decided to do an escape room. We booked a time with Time Traveler and didnt realize that the room we booked was based on actual Charleston History. Our room was so fun and challenging and totally fit our spooky weekend because it was around the first female serial killer that lived in Charleston! We will definitely be coming back to try another room next time we are in Charleston!

Went last night and got to experience the room with Megan as our game master! She was awesome. Very interactive and kept the story realistic and challenging. The Apothecary is definitely harder (more challenging) than the Boarding House, but we thoroughly enjoyed both.Kudos to Megan, as she was awesome, fun and truly cares about her customers! We will be returning as soon as another room opens!

A Very unique spin on escape rooms. I love the added historical aspect. The staff is wonderful the place is really nice with great details to forget your experience. The location is also fantastic making it such that before or after the experience there is plenty of other things to do around. Highly recommend it.

We went as girls night out ( we are locals) and Ive done many escape rooms but my friends had never done one before. We were drawn to this place because the rooms are unique to Charleston. We chose the Lavinia Fisher room and it was awesome! So different from the other rooms that Ive done even in Charleston. I cant wait to go back and try others. Id totally recommend this for a fun night out!

Loved that they had games before hand to play while you wait. It wasnt very fast paced like the others we have played. We had first time players in our group and they were not impressed.

I went here with my 2 best friends for a Ladies Weekend. We did The Boarding House, which was wonderfully ominous with mood lighting (which occasionally made seeing things slightly difficult) and creepy music. It was different than other escape rooms Ive done (no apparent timer, limitless hints, more about solving puzzles than finding codes, able to keep our phones/personal items), and we had an amazing time. Our guide, Elizabeth, was incredibly friendly, personable, and helpful with hints while still making us work for our solution. We find exultant when we won, and it was great that they had a bar to either settle your nerves before or celebrate your victory after. I look forward to frequenting this establishment again.

We had an awesome time at the Lavinias Boardinghouse room. Cool historical (or was it??!) legend that stuck to the script we had read online about the boardinghouse and it was neat it was based on this history. Kids 11, and 14 found half the clues for our family of 4, so it was a great time for all of us. Highly recommended! Staff was great too.

Unexpectedly great fun. Everyone should try this establishment. Locals and tourists both! Ive never felt so brilliant and dumb at the same time! Excellent staff, friendly and accommodating to adults and children alike. Getting to sip a beer while racking my brain was an added plus!

We had a group of four and the room we did was amazing!! The man who worked there at the time we went was so nice and personable. He joked around with us and made the experience so much more fun! One thing I really enjoyed about this place was the rooms were based off of real historical events that happened in Charleston. By far the BEST break out place I have ever been to! Will definitely be back!!

We had a super fun time doing the Lavinia Fisher room last weekend! It is slightly spooky, however theres nothing that will jump out at you ; just dark lighting and slightly creepy music. Im an easily frightened person and did just fine :)When you first arrive, they have a really great little lounge area were you can have a quick drink and play some small games while you wait (Jenga, Exploding Kittens, that kind of thing). Then you can bring your drink into the room! Usually escape rooms are pretty firm about no drinks, but they even said they would bring some extra drinks to the room if we wanted!The staff was great and super friendly. The room itself was a really good level of challenge--difficult enough that it took some thinking (and often times some hints) but we were able to solve. They make a really good use out of different kinds of hints, puzzles, and locks.I totally recommend checking it out! We were there with a visitor but were definitely going to go back and do another room with our friends!

Girlfriend and I like playing escape rooms, but hadnt checked this one out yet. So glad we did - it was awesome! Their games are themed around Charleston history (fun, quirky parts of history). The puzzles were very challenging, but creative at the same time, with some excellent surprises built in. The staff was helpful and fun. Thanks to their assistance, we just made it out just in time. Highly recommend this place for dates or you could take a larger group and have the rooms to yourself. They also have a bar, so we enjoyed a drink in the lounge before our game. Lots of great restaurants nearby for dinner. All around good time.

My husband & I do escape rooms every chance we get. This one was one of the most difficult; however, Lance, Elizabeth, and Cherish were absolutely wonderful! With their guidance (& patience) we had an amazing experience! I know that, from now on, well judge all other escape rooms against the high bar that theyve set. This was the first escape room I did that actually felt like you were escaping the room. The idea of blending history with puzzles felt immersive and was really fun. Major props to the design for having each part of the puzzle contribute to the escape. I’ve been to others where some of the puzzles didn’t go anywhere, but everyone in our group had something to do and it was a lot of fun piecing it all together. Will go again when we have the chance!

We did Lavinias Boarding House (with Lance) and had a great time. The theme was laid out very well. You can ask for help if you get stuck. This was a fun time for our group of 6. Takes about an hour for the game to play out.

Great experience!! The escape room was very fun and uniquely different. There were no clunky combination locks, instead the locks were puzzles themselves. Great place to go! It is truly an interactive escape room, you get to play with everything and move things around. I did not feel restricted in regards to the items I could touch or look for clues in/on.Plus ALCOHOL!!! This place has alcohol cheaper than most anywhere else. It gives you an extra boost of confidence. Hang out before and sip on some liquid courage and intelligence. And then hang out after and sip some celebratory drinks (A+ for effort if you didnt solve the room, still drink).Cant wait to go back and check out their other room.

Lance and Megan are awesome. Every thing about the experience is well thought out with twists of wit if you are really paying attention. A great tribute honoring the rich history of the Holy City.

Where to Begin?!?!This place is phenomenal! I chose to propose to my now fiance at an escape room and this place (regardless of occasion) has an amazing owner and crew that seem to work flawlessly together with great personalities. The room (JFK) we played was truly amazing that engaged our teamwork and O go back to the amazing staff and their wonderful effort to ensure my proposal went well. They even accomadate my special request to throw an engagement clue into the fold (she had no idea though still! Lol)

Absolutely worth it! My wife and I went on a date and wanted to try something new. Time Traveler immediately became one of our top three dates ever. It was so much fun we are already planning our next visit when the new game is ready. Also, the staff was great, we had a great time. ...by the way, they have liquid courage to help you relax and enjoy the night....

This was our first escape room experience and our daughters third escape room. The staff was friendly and the scenario was really fun! We went through the Apothecary room and it was challenging for all. The business was clean and the room was set up for us and ready to go. We had a great time and would definately go back for another room.

Was invited by friends to Time Traveler Escape Games and honestly didnt know what to expect. Turned out to be soooo much fun. We had a group of 8 people. Everyone had such a great time. The staff was really nice. The escape game we played was really fun. They weaved the history of Charleston into the experience which was cool. We only got to play one room and everyone is excited to go back. This would be a great place to bring friends visiting from out of town and would also be awesome for team building ... or just for a fun night out with friends. We had so much fun at Time Traveler Escape Games! My best friend and I explored the Apothecary this afternoon. It is unlike any other escape game we’ve played.The production value is high - from the video that sets the scene to the quality of the rooms and decor. The puzzles themselves are smart and fun. Unlike other games, there are not a dozen padlocks to open to navigate the game. There are locks, and keys, and secret cabinets/doors that spring open when you get the puzzle right...We can’t wait to go back!

Lance was a great game master. We had such a blast in the apothecary room. Super friendly and helpful when asked but never so much as to spoil the fun. This was our 2nd time doing an escape and it was great. I highly recommend this place, and they have drinks!!!!

I was in town visiting my family on Saturday and we love to try out escape rooms when were together. We also really love Charleston history and spent many nights in downtown Charleston learning the history of the city when I was growing up. Time Traveler Escape Games does a great job of taking points in the history of Charleston and immersing you in a fun and interactive experience. The puzzles are challenging but solvable and along the way they do a great job of teaching you a little about the historic city of Charleston. Would definitely go back next time I’m in town.

The building is a beautiful. The rooms are uniquelydesigned reflecting a specific event in Charlestons history.The owners are are also the creators. Time Travel guides are courteous and helpful and very intelligent. Theyre also super funny. It is an unforgettable experience: engaging, entertaining and challenging.Last but surely not least ...this escape room has a bar offering selection of wines and locally brewed beers.

Our adventure into Lavinia Fishers Bed and Breakfast was GREAT!!! Our group of young teenagers broke this case wide open with 2.5 minutes to spare. The girls had a blast and appreciated our host Lance’s knowledge of history.It was a very enjoyable adventure. Our host Lance was very hospitable. Had an excellent experience, along with my family. We have done escape rooms across Charleston, and Columbia. This place does not disappoint. Challenging, fun, and had the opportunity to learn some little known history about Charleston. We will, definitely, be returning.

What a great girls night out this past weekend. We did the boarding house room. Packed with clues and we made it out with Meghans help. Even the best gumshoe would need a little help. Very cleaver clues, its not easy, teamwork and makes you really think. Get there a little early and enjoy a glass of wine. Really something different to do downtown. Take the family or a group of friends and do this, then have dinner nearby. Youll have lots to talk about and laugh about over dinner.

This was our first experience at an escape room and it was so much fun. Using Charleston history made this one great. While we waited for the previous group to finish we enjoyed a glass of wine and prepped our minds with different puzzles. When we went into the room you would never know there was so much really going on in there. The clues were really clever although there were a couple I am not sure we ever would have figured out without a tiny bit of help from the wonderful owner Meghan. I have to brag a little - we made it out with 8 minutes to spare!!!! We will be going back for the other scenarios very soon!!

We have gone to quite a few escape rooms, we found this company and tried the apothecary room. This was one of the most well thought out rooms I’ve done! Everything was painstakingly to period, down to the locks. The room was difficult but we got through with 4 people and a couple clues. I can’t wait to go back! Very high quality for your money and awesome people working there.

Time Traveler Escape was awesome! We went through Lavinia Fishers boarding house and barely made it out alive!!! Awesome room, puzzles were challenging but a lot of fun. We also cracked the pirates code, which was a small puzzle challenge that was fun and fast paced. Definitely recommend checking their escapes out!!!

An awesome experience for friends, families, and couples! I have visited multiple escape establishments in Charleston and Myrtle Beach and this one is my favorite. The decor is gorgeous and the staff is friendly and fun. There is a lovely lounge area and a variety of beverages are available for extremely reasonable prices.The rooms use electrical engineering to provide surprises in all the nooks and crannies, and reach far beyond basic combination locks. The science nerd in me was fascinated and I frequently exclaimed, No way! Cool!I cannot recommend this place enough and cant wait to go back and explore Lavinias Boardinghouse!
