What an awesome organization!!! I love watching kids train, develop, and mature as young people; as well as basketball players!!!It’s so refreshing to see discipline at the forefront. We always say; basketball is similar to life (respect, togetherness, teamwork, sacrifice, and most importantly LOVE)!!!!SLAM CITY is an example of these qualities!!!Continue to do a GREAT JOB Coach Walter Webb Jr.

Don’t waste your money. Signed my kids up their summer camp at NZone. They are not “elite” players and were actually separated from the rest of the group with no coaching. Total rip off.

If I could give Slam City zero stars I would. My son tried out for their basketball program and made an AAU team. We paid over $1300 for training and the AAU program. It was the most expensive team he had ever played for. We were warned from another family at school that they would take our money and Coach Webb would make promises he wouldnt keep. I wish we had listened! The only problem is he never played in a single tournament. He had a few training sessions and was promised he would play in the Walter Webb Jr. tournament since he didnt play in the tournament the weekend before due to space requirements. Well that never happened! My son texted Coach Webb to ask him about the tournament schedule since he had promised them at training the night before that it would be coming out and Coach Webb never responded. Ive sent Coach Webb multiple emails which have all been ignored. Im disgusted by this behavior and the greed!!!

I am not sure if this organization truly exists or if it is a scam. I have been trying to reach anyone for close to 2 weeks now to answer a simple question and no one ever calls back or replies. I thank God that I did not register online as it mentions that all their sessions are non refundable. Stay away from that place. I have one star to be able to publish my review but they deserve negative stars.

Wonderful organization! It has been a blessing to be with a organization that has a boys and girls team with the values and mission that this organization possesses! Coach Webb and the staff are very professional and passionate about educating the youth in basketball fundamentals.

Coach Webb and Staff have been an excellent coach and mentor to my son. His leadership is second to none and I would recommend Slam City to parent looking to help their child take their game to the next level.

Even if I am not a fan of another basketball organization, I dont publicly criticized organizations like I am about to.Slam City Management - my advice to everyone is to never play in their events. We scheduled to play in a Slam City tournament last spring...got the usual statement about having plenty of teams. I had three teams playing in it. Two teams were to play on Saturday. One of the teams was just playing 2 games on Sunday. On the way to the games on Sunday, I got a phone call that there were no games, the teams had pulled out. I understood this but it raised warning signs. This year I decided to give Slam City Management a chance again for a tournament this Saturday. I asked specifically what their team situation was in the 5th grade and 6th grade age groups as I had 3 teams that I wanted to play 2 games each on Saturday. I was told that this was not a problem, that they had plenty of teams to do this. I asked what teams were playing; I was told they dont like to do that as they have been burned in the past. I understood and communicated that my concern was that we have been burned in the past by the standard statement we have plenty of teams only to find out that the organization does not.I registered my 3 teams, called on Wednesday to make sure we were good with teams. I was told I would get a call back. I didnt. No schedule Wednesday. No schedule Thursday. No schedule Friday. I have called 3 days straight only to be told my call would be passed along and someone would get back to me. I emailed. I called the organizer Coach Webb but have received no response. A schedule link finally comes out at 3:00 Friday. One team has one game. The other two teams do not have games scheduled. Maybe it is premature at 3:00 on Friday and there is a schedule coming out later... Doubt it.The families on these teams have been waiting for a schedule. And if there are no games to play, it is too late to get into another tournament. It wasnt a lot of money but it will then be about getting the money back.Do not play in Slam City events. Do not bother. I dont know how their training side works but the tournament side, especially for girls is horrible. This happens way too often where organizations tell you they have teams just to get you in the door, they dont have teams and dont communicate this to you until it is too late. There needs to be quality places to play in the fall. Customer service had declined in several places; that is one reason why we proposed a fall league, why we host a tournament in October. But there needs to be more. Add Slam City to the list of organizations to avoid.

First off I need to say the training is above average. They will introduce training techniques that no house coach will teach you. With that said I highly and I mean highly advise that you do not join any of their leagues. Training is good but the league is a complete money making machine for them, on top of that as a bonus it will give your son plenty of learning opportunities on how to deal with disappointment. For example my son plays for Slam City and we were at my sons tournament at nZone, first they charged $30 for the three of us to get into the gym to watch the game, second my son had 0 playing time as did 4 other boys on the team. Although we had 12 players the coach only rotated between 7 of them the entire game and the game was not even close. We were losing from the start all the way to the end. Instead of giving everyone a chance to play the coach rotated between his magnificent 7 all the way to the bitter end. I dont blame coach Webb for this as he was off at some other game. But in the end hes the leader and it falls all on him in the end. So we drove 45 mins one way to get to the tournament, $30 on admission and saw our son sit on the bench with 4 other players the entire game. I know some will say Well its high level playing...blah blah blah Guess what even in the NFL and NBA if the team is far behind on the score board their coach will let their 2nd and 3rd stringers have some playtime.

Disappointed by poorly run camp. After the 1st day my 5 year old said he didnt want to return bc no one passed him the ball. I encouraged him to give it one more try and when I arrived early the 2nd day I confirmed what he said. He was standing by himself at half court in a game. The coach said nothing while older kids, what looked like 2nd & 3rd graders, played past him. I was going to let it slide and on my way out the assistant manager, who led that 1st day, had the gall to approach me and say my son was not engaged from the beginning.1) If youre a coach or teacher and say a 5 year old is not engaged, thats like saying your dont know how to coach or teach.2) Hes bright, athletic, and excelled on both a soccer and a baseball team when there were a dozen kids the same age and a couple coaches. Not 200+ kids of all ages a few elementary school gym teachers and a handful of teenagers.3) Im paying you to coach him! You work for him and I, so figure out how to engage him!!

Great place for your kids to get proper basketball training and skills. Coach Webb is a man of God. His staff is those of the same beliefs. Keep up the good work Slam City.

Stay away from this place. The owner (Walter something) and his staff are unprofessional and rude. They have over sized class sizes, poor quality of coaching. Also have predatory practices - if youre late by even a minute to pick up your kid, they will charge your credit card without informing you. Whole place seem to have anti white sentiment.
