The show Gentlemans Guide to Love and Murder was excellent. Super cast and well staged. Orchestra was also great.Would get 5 stars if I werent sitting with my knees pressed against the chair in front of me the whole night. Im just 510. Not sure how a taller person would fit at all.

We went to see the Grant Wood Stroke of Genius , first time at theatre and was smaller than I am used to, but seats were comfortable and looked like every seat has a great view of stage. Attendants were very helpful and concessions not outrageous, you have to buy a cup ($3.00) instead of taking glass bottles in, but 1$ refill on pop (coke products).

I love to see all the talent this area has. I also love that they provide access for the Deaf Community by offering a show with ASL interpreters.

We enjoyed a performance on the stage in the basement. The cast and crew did an amazing job in the performance of Dracula. We liked how they sold refreshments. We will be back!

Coe has an awesome theater department and great shows. Its one of the best hidden places in Cedar Rapids for great theater. Dows Theater is a very cozy and place to watch a show.

TCRs creations are never disappointing! The set, outfits, music, effects, and of course the singing/acting are always fantastic. Its great to see what goes on behind the scenes too - the amount of time and effort that the community puts in to the productions is inspiring. Ive never seen a show I didnt enjoy.

We saw Matilda right after it’s opening and it was a great time. The production value was amazing for a community theater. We are looking forward to seeing more shows in the future

Great theater Great actors Great shows unfortunately there food policy isnt a theater norm they sell you food then dont say until your at the theater door that you cant eat inside the theater i mean i get the cleanliness part but we are paying good money for food and beverages oh and yes another thing you sell cans of soda but you cant take the can in the theater you have to buy a special cup which is three more dollars plus the 2 for the can of soda so by thus point your can of soda costs you five dollars so if your not interested in downing a whole soda in the lobby something to watch out for but other then the food and drink issues a great location good parking depending on the event and the cast of the show Matilda were so friendly

A nice little theatre in the ️ of Cedar Rapids. We saw Hello Dolly and had a blast. My only negative would be that they let it get quite warm in there, need to move some air around when youre in there for 3 hours

I wouldnt mind a bit more legroom in the balcony seats, but its a lovely place for a performance.

Just saw Dracula! Awesome performance! Highly recommend. The lounge serves up fantastic drinks.

I loved this theater. The space was beautiful and went with the performance well. The staff was friendly and interested, and the seats (though a little tight) were comfortable enough for a long show. My wife and I will be back soon.

TCRs Hello Dolly is a first class production! Nina Swanson and the entire cast is engaging and spot on. My 11yo twins were enthralled!

Really nice place. Like a smaller version of the Paramount. Comfy seats and good sight lines. Saw My Fair Lady and it was great. Performers were fantastic and i would definitely recommend going to see a show here. Nice selection of booze and great bathrooms.

I have been a season pass holder for about 10 years now. I expect to be one until I am no longer able to. Their shows are amazing, and the theater is the most beautiful place. If you dont think they can put on a Broadway show level play in Cedar Rapids you would be very very wrong.

Loved the theater- Really not a bad seat in the house, though, that being said, I would try to avoid the first row and the back rows near the person doing lights, if you have a choice. Saw The Hunchback of Notre Dame and thought they did a phenomenal job- especially Quasimodo and the Archbishop. Very well done from sets to costumes to characters. Pleasantly surprised!

Loved Elf the Musical!!! Buddy the Elf is a very good actor. Costumes so colorful and fun. Snow in the theatre was a nice touch!!! So happy I went. Amazed at our local talent.

Wonderful time tonight at the Burlesque in the Black Box show.

Cedar Rapids clearly takes pride in its theatre community. Theatre Cedar Rapids draws in the finest in every area of musical and theatrical production. Every show Ive seen there has been easily comparable to the work of professional production companies in Chicago or Minneapolis. I was stunned by the attention to detail in the last show I saw. The choreography and lighting design stood out in particular, but it was evident that every person involved in the show approached their duties with passion and dedication. The building has practice rooms, smaller theatres, and studios inside, making it an ideal, self-contained theatre facility. The lounge/concessions area is very tasteful, and its selections include local wines and brews. TCR is a highlight of the arts in Iowa!

Such a beautiful theatre! I saw a wonderful performance with my girlfriends (Heathers) and we all had a blast. Sadly, 4 stars because the price for water was outrageous. How hard is it to give guests free water? I understand charging for a sippy cup, but the price wasnt much different than a regular water cup. That made me a tad upset. Luckily, the outstanding performance took my mind off my dehydration.

The plays are great! Amazing actors! The prices.... The auditorium is beautiful. They also have a concession stand for food and drinks BEFORE and AFTER the play.

Such a treasure in Cedar Rapids! It is beautifully redone since the flood of 08. They host lots of neat events. I just visited for a seminar and hope to go back to see a show soon!

Love the history and the atmosphere.

A great community theater which is very well run and supported by the community. It performs major musicals and plays every quarter which are are on a professional level. There is also a smaller theater which puts on smaller plays and more experimental theater.

Have attended several musicals and plays at TCR and all were FANTASTIC! Outstanding local talent and we are impressed during every event! Great job TCR and those involved!! Thank you for sharing your talents!

Excellent theater right in the heart of Cedar Rapids! Reasonable prices and a great little lounge right inside for before, intermission, and after the show! The latest showing of Beauty and the Beast was incredible, cant wait to see more!

Best live theatre in town

My wife and I took our daughter to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, and it was so much fun. I had not been to TCR before, and my wife had not been there since before the flood. We love the new look!

Intimate Apparel was a great play. All the actors played their roles well, in particular Jo Jordan as Esther.

TCR put on a great showing of Disneys Beauty and the Beast. My wife and I really enjoyed it, and we will likely try to go to more shows in the future. One tip, though—get there early. If you try to arrive too close to showtime, parking can be a bit of a hassle. If youre early, a spot in the little lot across the street is available for a small price, but it fills up very quickly.
