Place was filthy. Little holes in hallway doors with mouse traps and bathrooms were disgusting. For the price it would be more efficient for me to drive across town for better and cleaner experience.

A year ago (give or take a few months) I came to this theater with my nephew excited to see what kind of improvements had taken place since AMC had bought this theater. I was excited to see some renovations going on and I told myself I wouldnt come back until they were finished. Unfortunately I am here today to see that nothing has changed. The staff is great dont get me wrong, but its all the same old musty carpet, same old gross worn out seating. For me part of the experience is being comfortable and being able to immerse myself into the storyline of any movie. Here I cant do that if I am constantly having to resituated to get comfortable. I guess Ill have to wait 2 years in hopes of a completed competitive movie experience. Until then I will continue to go to Marcus theaters with seat reservation and recliners. For being a big corporation I would have thought AMC would have been able to crank our new theaters within a year. Good luck to yall.

This is nice because its always less busy than the other theater. It lacks organization as far as the flow of things and the staff. It could really thrive through some updating through the interior. Its a little uninviting.

I love this theater and their Tuesday discount movies ! Also love when they have a sm. popcorn and soda for $5 special that day ! Really nice for us seniors on a budget !

Very run down. Tattered old seating, bathrooms appear to have leaking toilets, and just painted over doors and stalls which is poorly done. Poorly staffed. Picture quality is dim. Very disappointing for it being under new management.

The popcorn was not fresh but better than the Coral Ridge theater. The actual seating area needs some updates. The seats are severely worn. The speakers could use some updates as well. The staff were polite and had positive attitudes.

This theater has really declined and it was evident in its appearance, as well as the odor. Patrons are forced to go through concessions to get their tickets, but in all honesty, could easily get into a theater without having to pay as there is no one to check tickets for admission. The theater itself was dingy and had a horrible odor. The womens restroom only had two stalls working, and one you had to grab toilet paper from a nonfunctioning stall before entering one of the two functioning stalls. Also, only one soap dispenser had soap in it. The restroom itself was very dirty and is clearly not tended to on a regular basis. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience as I dont ever remember this theater looking and functioning so poorly. Hopefully theyll get things turned around soon as its nice to have on the SW side.

As soon as I walked in it smelled like the place had not been cleaned in years. The matinee price was good, but the popcorn and drink was pretty expensive. When I got to my theater room the smell was still bad and everything was slightly damp like the air conditioner was not properly removing the humidity. At this point I don’t think that even a good cleaning would work to get the smell out, I’m pretty sure it just needs to be gutted and refurbished.

Theatre was quiet and it was nice to sit and enjoy a movie there! I would give 5 stars because everyone I encountered was polite and helpful and the environment was clean and welcoming but the smallest popcorn is $8.32! When youre a single mom and you take your child to the movies, you dont expect popcorn to be as much as a movie ticket! Atleast I dont anyway.

Paid almost 60 bucks for three of us to see a movie screen didnt even turn on for the previews. I well definitely not be back to this theater.

Good sounds system. The temperature of Air conditioner is very low. There are hardly 10-15 people in the particular movie, in theater it feels very cold. They should increase the temperature if amount of public is less. Other than this, everything is good!

The screen was dark and looked like 720p at best, you could barely see who the characters were. The speakers were quiet to the point where dialogue was hard to hear. Seats werent the most comfortable. Water was leaking out of the toilets and sinks onto the floor and the other bathroom was out of order. The only high point was the lemonade was good but it better be for costing almost $7. I dont normally write negative reviews but I felt I needed to this time.

The Movie was Legos 2 perfect for Kids and I found good also. Kids snack box good price but the popcorn could have been fresher. Overall, a Very good experience!!

It was unbearably cold in the actual theater. Literally exactly how it felt in the dairy fridges when I worked at HyVee. I was actually relieved to get out into the July heat. To add insult to injury, the theater has such a depressing ambiance now. It was never as cool as Galaxy 16 across town, but it was still an enjoyable when it was owned by another company in my high school days. I’m normally not the type to leave reviews, but do yourself a major favor and drive 15-20 min across town or to Coralville / Iowa City for that matter if you have to.

Went to see early morning show of the avengers and theatre smelled so bad as I entered, I almost had to leave but was tolerable in seating area, bathrooms were just as bad. Popcorn must have been from night before and it didnt seem that soda area had been cleaned from night before either. It was very disappointing, I wont go back to this theater even though it is closest to my home.

Had better prices then the other movie theater in Cedar Rapids. Place was clean and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Also like the fact we can fill our own drinks. Didnt have to stand in line or wait for an employee to get a refill.

Even though this isnt the cheapest theater in town it is the lowest quality theater. The place desperately needs an upgrade. The main entrance is outdated and the concessions look pathetic. The only change they have made in concessions is the coke dispenser. The walls have stains on them and the seat cushions have worn out making them uncomfortable. The ticket prices dont seem worth it. The staff working here doesnt seem to really care. The only reason to go here is if all the other theaters are full. This place is never busy and you wont have issues getting a seat. Compared to Marcus this place is terrible.

The seats were a bit narrow and facility was in reasonable condition, very low traffic for a Saturday evening, however the film projection itself had several issues where the image skipped or jumped and moved on the screen without relation to the movie being shown. This was during a screening of the Midsommar directors cut, and these were not seen at a different theater in the original viewing.

I got a gift card for this place for Christmas and finally got my boyfriend to see a movie with me. The movie was great and the prices where great but I will not be sitting in there for a two hour movie again when it’s its going to be just as cold in the theater as it is outside. Only difference was there was no wind in the building obviously. Very disappointed.

We love coming to this theater because it’s the closest to us and by so many other places. I never write negative reviews but I don’t want to see this theater disappear. It is so dirty and run down. From the bathrooms to the lobby to the old concession counter area to the floors and walls in every room. The service that is there is good but there’s never anyone past the concession counter or ticket booth. I’m guessing you’re losing money because of people not paying and walking in. If this place were clean I could look past the other minor things.

This theatre is long overdue for a renovation. While they have added new machine for the concession stands, the seats themselves still bear the smooth and inexplicably damp membrane of time. Additionally, the board they used to post times of has been converted to read, check online, which is fine, but this local misses the convenience of seeing times on my way home. All in all, its cheap and the only option on the south side. If you dont mind slumming, the theatre is seldom crowded and is a good place for a Sunday afternoon visit.

I just went to see the movie mule which was very good. I just wish you would start updating your seating. Have gone to the other theater across town and they have the Tuesday special like you and also a lot more for eating and have nothing but loungers in all their Studios.

Cancelled the movie because we forgot to put it on the projector, causing an entire theatre to not see the movie and get refunds.

Nice atmosphere

I have gone to this movie theater pretty consistently (least twice a month) from 2014-2017. The popcorn bucket deal makes it a good spot if you are going to movies regularly. Its best to avoid the busy times. Id say that about any theater, but this one it holds a bit more true as this location feels fairly under-staffed at times. Overall this is a solid theater, always a good experience.

I really enjoyed this theater. It doesnt have fancy seats or concessions, but they sure do a great job getting people through the lines and into a movie. Bathrooms a bit run down but clean. Theater had a good picture and sound was spot on. Warrenburg feels like they half-ass everything and it takes 40 minutes to get through the ticket window now.

Its sad..I grew up going to this theater and it was nice. Since changing ownership years ago, they havent spent any money upgrading. That I can forgive....the fact that it stunk like super skate and bo. I dont think theyve really deep cleaned since Clinton was in office. Its worth gas to drive to Collins 16 plex.

This AMC is ok. Still waiting for them to get the reclining chairs. The menu options are great, but they have gotten better. I use the AMC app to purchase my tickets and they cant scan the app, have to give my confirmation # every time. I think they still need a little work but alright.

We went for a 2pm show on a Monday. There were very few other people there so there was no line up. It was $21 for our family of four which was a great price. The theatre and bathrooms look like they havent been updated in ten years and the bathroom cleanliness level was pretty low. The worst part of the experience was the 27 minutes of previews that started at 2pm. Our 2pm movie started at 2:27. The a/c worked well.

No handicap chair area in theater. Sound was nice . No reservations available for seat it first come first serve.

Wouldnt be surprised if this theater closes up shop any day with out notice. I cant imagine the up keep of a movie theater being all that hard, but this place is a dump. The bathrooms are dirtier than a teenagers browser history.

It was very cold in the theater.we had to leave our coats on the whole time. And the price for soda and popcorn $24.99 is just crazy!

Went to movie, and they had problems with the projector, so we didnt get to see the movie. They did give us tickets to come back and reimbursed our concessions. Very polite and s@#t happens, no problem.

Saw a great movie (How to Train Your Dragon 3). Sodas there are too expensive if you ask me. Theater seats are starting to show their age. Image on screen seemed like it was slightly distorted.

The womans bathroom, was filthy at 2:30 pm in the AFTERNOON. When I spoke to the manager I told him it was filthy and smelled, the floor obviously not cleaned in days. He said sorry, its the only one working, have a nice day.

I used to work there and let me clear some things up. First off, every employee is a young kid who has little inclination to put in more then the absolute minimum effort (some people make an art of this and can put in zero effort without getting fired). We are paid minimum wage and there are two types of shifts. 12-6PM and 6PM-12AM. They have no flexibility in this matter, and often people have to no-call no-show because they are scheduled on days they requested off. Our Manager has been working there for 40+ years, and has a tendency to snap at us when he is under pressure. Claiming we are lazy good for nothing whiny millennials, however, you cannot blame the employees alone. Our corporate has sent many e-mails and posted revisions to our working guidelines outright stating that we are to prioritize profits over customer service. We are often seen as understaffed because again, corporate wants as few people working as possible. fewer employees= fewer wages to pay out. This creates great stress for all employees/managers and as other reviews state, poor customer service.TL/DR: The employees are underpaid high school students, the manager is a man-child prone to temper-tantrums, and corporate would rather line their pockets than pay more employees to help run the theater efficiently

We decided to spend a very hot Memorial Day at the movies. We were more than a little disappointed.There was only one ticket sales person was available with a line out the door. The concessions stand staff wasnt in any rush to clear their line either. We waited in line for 10 minutes to purchase 2 1 liter bottles of water (for $11 which made going to the cheaper matinee kind of pointless). The bathrooms were disgusting as well as the floors in the theater. Honestly, this theater had gone downhill since it was bought by AMC.

This movie theater is pretty nice and everything just they need more staff helping out and just not standing there and talking and gabbing when people are in line trying to get to their movie. They need to open more concession counters and keep their staff at full capacity at all times, not just MAYBE 1/4 or the time. Also, they need to have an actual manager there at all times. The employees need to stop slacking off and actually get to work getting people what they need. Maybe they should just put in a little more effort, I mean seriously, youre one of the only main movie theaters in Cedar Rapids. You need to step it up.

We just went to see It yesterday and had a terrible experience. The box office wasnt open and there was a sign to buy tickets at concessions, which was fine, no big deal. But there appeared to be only one person taking ticket and concession orders so it took forever to get through each group while there were 3 other people behind the counter doing random things and a line started to form. Someone else behind us finally walked up to another employee and asked if they could take their ticket and concession orders and they look dumbfounded and say yes, like we were obviously supposed to do that. Why dont you offer to help?Once the movie started there was a row of teenage boys behind us that talked through the ENTIRE movie start to finish. My husband and I turned around a few times, I shushed them once and eventually said shut up. They did for about 2 minutes and started right back up. Frustrated, I walked out of the theatre hoping to find a manager to handle the situation. The lobby was very very busy and I didnt want to cut in front of a line of people to ask someone and instead saw an employee walking down the hall. I explained the situation and asked if anyone could help and he rolled his eyes, sighed and said I would have to talk to someone over there (pointing at concessions). I said I wasnt willing to be rude to the 20+ people in line and would apparently just handle it.Our experience sucked at it could have easily been preventable or helped if there was any customer service whatsoever. There should be an identifiable manager who can handle situations like ours and the most basic customer service skills should be required.

Why are all of you degrading a movie theater? You chose to pay and watch a movie. If you dont/didnt like your experience, then dont go there. Dont be disrespectful and post about another movie theater and what they have, and stop complaining about the prices. If you dont want to pay, then dont go, and wait till the movie comes out on blue ray or DVD. In my opinion, this is a great movie theater, and the employees do everything they can do inorder to make you feel at home. Overall, if you needed a nice place to watch a movie, look no further, bring your friends and family and enjoy your experience(s) on your own.

This place has gotten really bad. They seem constantly under staffed, and the staff that is there doesnt seem to care anymore. Theyre not friendly at all and generally make it an unpleasant experience. But thats not the worst part. Ive had the picture go out or the sound go out multiple times while watching a movie and someone has to go ask a staff member to fix it. This was once a nice theater but not anymore.

Beautiful rooms, comfortable seats, but the heat was way too high and uncomfortable during the show. Well give it another try on the chances that it was just a fluke.

When this place was first opened, it was clean, had an up-scale feel, and was a great place to take in a movie. Unfortunately that was the last maintenance this place saw, and I firmly believe it was the last time it was cleaned.The bathroom was disgusting - some toilets didnt flush, others splattered all over. The sinks were completely gross.Hand-written and faded printed pages were hung in various locations indicating certain features or functions that werent working. The floor in our theater was sticky and the seats were completely uncomfortable. We spent $30 on three tickets and I didnt even want to try the popcorn for fear of the sanitation conditions.I will drive across town or to the next county to see my next first-run movie.

Everything sucks. I was there for the $5 Tuesdays and the line was 7 people ling before me and it took 25 minutes to get tickets. But before I could get the tickets for $5 I had to sign up for their ticket club. No just give me my tickets so I can go watch. Definitely plummeting service and services.Im back here and the service wasnt so bad this time but they definitely need to do a remodel. Seats are old and uncomfortable, and it smells bad in here.

Guaranteed accidental forgot my phone at the theatre called back within 20 min of loving and they said they had found a phone but I would have to come the following day during hrs to pick up never got a returned phone call or an apology . Manager took over 20 min to get to front when I came to look so I left in frustration and havent heard a word. Very sad my phone had some very valuable pictures of my life on it.

The quality of the video projection was actually at least as good as Marcus Wehrenberg, which surprised me. Their soda system is better, too, as Wehrenbergs New soda fountains get really messy and sticky. Westdale has those machines that let you pick whatever weird combination you want, like Coke Zero mixed with orange flavor, and it is dispensed inside an enclosed area that doesnt create much mess.Of course, Wehrenberg has a full bar now and a selection of other foods (their pizza wasnt half-bad!). Besides that, the area where Westdale is still behind is just that it seems old. They could use a remodel like Marcus put into Wehrenberg.Everything else was good - friendly staff, decent concessions, good viewing and listening quality.
