Nice open space about six miles south of Castle Rock on the east side of I-25. There are two hiking/biking loops. The southern loop is more scenic and extends several miles past the Tomah Road exit. Although I am not sure, there may be a way to continue under I-25 and link up with another trail that continues into Larkspur south to the Greenland Open Space and beyond.

The trails are nice and open. It runs along I25 heading south. There are two easy loop trails from the Trailhead. The southern trail connects to a longer trail that goes down through Larkspur. I decided to take the longer trail south to Tomah Rd and it was a beautiful walk. I didnt get to see any trains on my side but the tracks run parallel to the trail in many areas. I will be back to do the Northern loop!!

With an accident behind me, Im trying to get as close to what I used to be doing or better. I never give up fight through the pain & put on a happy face so no one see the pain. Great hike wouldnt have kids younger than 4 or 5 year old out there. Some trials r really have a sharp angle that even I can t maneuver around. Hike with caution everyone & have a great time!!!

Nice very simple, flat but pretty hike. Good for small kids. The historic barn and buildings are fun to spend a few minutes walking around. Someone broke into the old stone house and used it for paintball practice it appears :( We saw wild turkeys and huge hawks on the north loop. Nice covered picnic table and bathrooms / trash available at the trail head. Trail was empty when we went. Lots of parking.

If you enjoy beautiful Colorado, and hearing busy Interstate traffic a couple hundred yards away, and hearing trains rolling by a couple dozen feet away, this trail is for you. Leave dogs at home, because there are no dogs allowed.
