Beautiful country, well spaced camp sites, fire pits prepared, trash cans available. Worth the drive to get off the beaten path! First come, get to choose your site, but no reservations. It seemed that water was of in the entire camp ground.

Be aware that if you have a camper and a tent on the same site youll have to pay for both per night

Lots of really decent tenting campgrounds! Some were close together which would be great for groups to not feel to spread out but still have your own space, but it wasn’t very full so you could find privacy if desired.

Great Meadow surrounded by great camping spots with a lot of seclusion. There is water in the campground, but not at each site. There are several playgrounds and several shelters at Beartrap.

Great campground just a short drive from Casper. From city to campsite in under 30 minutes. Open firepits, bathrooms, and room for motorhomes, campers, and RVs. One great way to beat the heat in mid-summer, always nice and cool on the mountain. Weather can change quick so always bring a coat. Be sure to visit during the Beartrap Festival each Summer. Too much fun!!!

Camp sites are close together and apparently no one goes to camp for piece and quiet anymore. 4 wheelers up and down the roads until 2am.

We rented the pavilion that has the fireplace. All around good experience. No complaints. Had a clean restroom, but the doors wouldnt shut tight or lock. The fireplace at the pavilion is falling in and looks a bit unsafe. Good shelter, you do have a restroom and there is drinkable water at the sight.

Fantastic place to take senior pictures...lots of different looks (different lighting, backgrounds, props, etc) in a smaller area allows you to spend more time on photos and less on moving from site to site.

Beartrap Music Festival is a wonderful way to start August. The weather in Casper, WY is perfect. The venue is large, dog friendly (bring a leash!), and offers all kinds of camping. They get great music too! Vendors are pretty good...wasnt too thrilled with the Grilled Cheese Sandwich food truck, but the others were good...nothing special, but if you didnt want to cook it was a good option. Late night jams will bring out the musician in you...or at least will get you tapping your feet until well into the early hours of the am. Check their website and get your three day tickets early!

I was here on the day of Beartrap Meadows campgrounds peak possible use, the totality of the eclipse. The care and cleanliness shown by the staff was exemplary, and managed to be unobtrusive about keeping on top of everything, as far as I could tell. The normal pit johns were not only clean, but were supplemented by equally clean porta-potties, which is a rarity anywhere. Trash was continually monitored and emptied. The incredible staff made a beautiful location the perfect backdrop for what may be for many a truly once in a lifetime experience.

Dont go in the mountains by yourself! Ever. Im from the deep south and snow is new to me. I got stuck just in 25 after i had just a bit of doubt . No cell phone signal 6 am in the morning. Lol. Local man helped me and a deputy drove up. Be nice to the locals and they will help you. Just ask folks before you go try something new , always have food, water, blankets, and a partner!

Nice place to camp. Especially if you can get a camp spot looking on to the meadow. Cell reception was ok. Bathtooms were a little to spread out if you are tent camping. But the staff were friendly and nice. One warning watch out for dive bombing hummingbirds
