This is a beautiful fun place that is excellent. Everyone from the wait staff to the crowd are nice on Friday especially as they had an excellent fish fry I had frequented more than once at a great price so families could have a great buffet . Great place that went to with friends ! I love it !

More of a 3.5. A good course for a beginning or intermediate golfer. Fairways could use some more watering but other than that its pretty nice.

Fun and inexpensive. I six putted a hole on a very steep sloping green!

Greens in good shape and offer a challenge. Fairways are poor, feels like your riding over speed bumps....every fairway.

NOT a family friendly place!!!! Cary had the potential to be such a positive experience. The weather was beautiful, the golfers were all extremely friendly at this course and many commented on our two daughters and how well they play. Unfortunately, Tim Quick made this the WORST experience I have ever had at a golf course in my 35 years of playing. When we arrived, my daughters, ages 12 and 10 were on a golf cart with me while my husband prepared to walk the course. After paying $90 for all of us to play, he wanted to save a little money and get some exercise walking. Tim drove up in a golf cart and reprimanded me that only 2 people can be in a cart. So we either had to get a cart or we would be kicked out if all 3 of us ride in the cart. A smile and a polite description of the rules is all it would have taken to get on the same page. My older daughter volunteered to walk. We played the first two holes and the humidity was rising so my husband encouraged my older daughter to ride along too. Little did we know the gestapo would be watching us. We were 150 yards from the 3rd hole and Tim came driving up and really laid into us about not following the rules. He said he knew we were trouble makers and was watching us (with binoculars!? Thats just creepy). He also said he called the owner about us. Excuse me, but we were not being rowdy, we were not intoxicated and we were minding our own business. If there is a waiver the club needs us to sign for insurance purposes, then offer it. In the end, yes we could have sucked it up and gotten another cart. But Bowes Country Club, Prairie Landing, The Highlands of Elgin and Red Hawk have NEVER harassed us the way that Tim Quick did today. It was a pathetic attempt at asserting the very little power this guy actually has in his sad, little life. We will never be going back and I strongly recommend that families find a different place to play.

A good course. Could be better maintained, but challenging enough for a novice golfer.

Its been there since the 1920s. Very hilly. Great fall foliage veiws for the fox river valley. Undulation on fairways. Sometimes your best shot will test your second. Stay below the flag, greens have roll and are moderately fast. Knew people who use to sled the hills in the winter. They were caddying in the 30s. Last weekend, dog and chips included with round. Who can ask for anything more.

I have never left a review, good or bad, but the person I talked to today was just plain RUDE! I made reservations on Saturday for the kids to to take their dad golfing for Father’s Day. No problem, just had to take a less than ideal tee time as it was short notice. I was told I could ride along as a non-golfer since the kids wanted to golf with Dad. Great, surprise good to go!Today, when I learned he had an unexpected work committment, I called to see if we could get a later tee time. I was told that we would t be able to golf because their policy only allows two people per cart, so one child wouldn’t have a ride. (Three kids) When I asked if the youngest could ride on my lap I was told ‘absolutely not! The insurance would never allow such a thing’. Walking was my next question, but she then proceeded to tell me that children under 10 are not allowed on the course anyway. What?! My husband has taken all three of our children on the course by himself before and had a wonderful time! They are being taught the etiquette of golf from a lifelong industry professional, and are respectful of other players, being quiet and letting others play through as needed. I would have had no issue with the policy if I had been told up front when I made the reservation, or if it had been followed in the past, but this was just a disappointing way to end their love of Cary Country Club!

This has always been a fun course to play and I would normally give it a 4 star but through no fault of their own, the heavy rains of earlier this season have caused major damage throughout the course. O am looking forward to enjoying it again next year.

Sometimes their fairways are beat up pretty bad, they have always fought some drainage issues, but this is one of the better values in the area for a golf course. Some dislike the odd ball holes but I think they force you to make some challenging shots you would normally not have on a public track like this one.
