Great little museum about the Battle of Carthage and surrounding civil war events. The guide there gave a great presentation and then went out of his way to give us information on several other local attractions that would entertain my kids.

The docent was very knowledgeable. There was a lot of Information here. I really enjoyed it.

This is a very unique battle very early in the war (before Bull Run). A beautiful mural of the action by famous artist Andy Thomas greets the visitors as they enter the museum. A huge, fantastic diorama featuring hundreds of detailed miniatures is also a big attraction along with countless Civil War relics. Located just one block from the historic town square in Carthage.

Me and my good friend Kira had a phenomenal visit one of our favorite places in Carthage, Missouri today again. We were happy to have a one on one conversation with Steve Cottrell the author for Battle Of Carthage book. My friend Kira and I will keep visiting this location no matter what cause of all the rich History inside this Museum.

This was a neat little place. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind as well as informative. We actually didnt know much about the Battle of Carthage and he gave us great information and details so we had a clearer image of what we would be looking at. My children are younger. It was hard to read everything and really take in the bloody history that took place. It was a lot smaller then I expected but displays so much educational and historical value. I definitely plan to return so I can really understand what happened. My family really enjoyed this visit.

Interesting place to visit with well made displays and very helpful and courteous staff. The large interactive display of the battle of carthage is my favorite.

Small museum but great history!

It was a very small (one room) collection of related artifacts from the civil war battle there. The displays were a bit simple and a few dated or incomplete. We did not have a bad experience just not on par with the other civil war museums we have been to. I would say it is at the level of a great private collection worthy to be seen by anyone in the area but not really worth the drive if you are not passing through.

This was a fantastic museum that details the history of my home town of Carthage mo I highly recommend this to tourists interested in the civil war fantastic artwork the staff is excellent just once in a lifetime experience

Small but the staff fill in the gaps of any questions you might imagine. The fellow we met made this one of our highlights while visiting historic Carthage Missouri.

Operated by the city of Carthage, it is a nice way to spend an hour to an hour and a half. Informative.

Even though it is not very big, it is packed with interesting information that would please any American Civil War buff and surprise any casual visitor.
