It’s a gorgeous venue. It’s perfect for about 50 people. Any more than that and you will have trouble trying to set up tables. The ballroom is on the 3rd floor. The kitchen is functional but really needs updated. There are 2 ovens and one refrigerator. The dishwasher was nice. We used their china and silverware. That worked out great.

Do not book. Property will not refund your deposit & will lie about the reason. The people running this property are thieves. They waited until a month and a half after booking when we contacted them about the deposit to tell us we would not be getting our deposit back. They can not book the property because of the current virus situation & are making up excuses to return deposits because they have spent the money. Thieves

The Phelps House is a wonderful setting for events. The historic setting and affordable rental rates make event planning very simple.

Beautiful

What a beautiful old home. We go there every two years, on the first Saturday of December. They have a tour of several homes, located in Carthage, that have been decorated for Christmas,. Tea is scheduled at several times during the day and is served at the Phelps house. The sandwiches, savories and sweets served are always delicious. I take several friends and we always enjoy it. Reservations must be made in advance by calling the Phelps Historical Society. The next Open House & Tea event will be in December of 2020.

The place is beautiful. We had our wedding there and everybody loved the house. They could stop telling us beautiful the place was and how beautiful our wedding was.

Fabulous historic home for tours or special events. Wednesday is best day for touring, or call ahead. Beautiful setting for weddings, parties, dinners, etc.
