My sister-in-law invited me to go to an event at the museum on Sunday. I had heard of the printing museum, but never went. I was in awe of the place. Seeing how they printed newspapers, flyers, etc on machines from the late 1800s and 1900 was so exciting to me. Loved it. We got the chance to roll out the papers too. They also showed how they made letters out of hot material and they painstakingly set up each letter for an article. The neatest part is that they made our names or business name using this hot substance into a stamp, for free. The entrance fee was $10.00 and you just donated any amount at the various demonstrations. It was great. I think its an annual event.

I had a wonderful time at International Printing Museum! The tour offered me a lot of knowledge about printing, which was impressive. Also, it was sweet that we were given some adorable gifts during the tour. The tour guide was so humored that we couldnt move our eye from the whole talking. It was a relaxed and interesting experience. It is valuable that there is a museum keeps all those remarkable machines invented in the old period far from us. Thank you!

It is one of the best places for family outings as well as to take kids along. The place in itself is a knowledge hub and the various exhibits depict the features of natural environment

This place is very interesting. You can see many old printing technologies. We attended on Boy Scout day, where scouts can earn merit badges. The demonstrations included seeing a working Linotype machine (they let you keep the cast line of text), a proofing press, and making a silkscreened T-shirt.

Absolutely everyone from the age of 2 to 112 should visit this amazing Museum! They have the history of the movies and all the printing machines that have been used in different movies like Newsies and some 50 plus more. The employees and volunteers are absolutely astonishing in their knowledge of the printing business. The most amazing thing about this Museum is that you get to learn how to use the printing presses. You get to take home the things you print and you can even see one of the original Bibles and how they were printed. This is a must-see in a little town called Carson California. Its not expensive and you go home awed. Dont miss the special Productions they have during Christmas Halloween and during the summer. On top of that if youre a boy scout or a girl scout they have a program for you to get a badge.

A hidden gem. Print machines from over print history. Most in working order and enthusiastic docents to demonstrate and sometimes assist you in operating them. They cater to young people, so bring your respectful children and they will be engaged. Im going back as I did not have a chance to see everything. And Ill bring my 17 y.o. with.

An interesting place to visit if you are interested in seeing (some working) vintage printing equipment. (regularly Open Saturdays only)I visited during a special Dickens Christmas season event. This was a special treat, with people dressed & acting the part of characters from Dickens stories. Others, in vintage costume, played music, greeted guests & some explained interesting features about... & demonstrated working printing presses & other interesting pieces of the vintage equipment. For this special event, there was even an entertaining live production in a small theatre space.Definitely interesting enough to have warrenty the long drive from our location.

Who knew that a printing museum could be so interesting. The best time to enjoy this museum is when they have events such as the Dickens show around Christmas time and their annual printers fair where many vendors come to sell their stuff and there is also lots of hands-on activities. I know they have other programs but I am mostly familiar with those two. The Dickens show is a lot of fun.

Everyone needs to see this place at least once to see how news and information was disseminated prior to computers, and prior to TV and radio! Bring your kids -- all inquisitive children will be interested in what they see. Some kids will be so fascinated that they may want to take up printing as a hobby, which is still very possible -- there are many books about printing at Amazon, and there is printing equipment of all sizes for sale at eBay. Dont rush your visit. Allow two to three hours to see everything and to talk to the guides. This museum also needs your financial support. Lets not take history for granted.

Fantastic place and so closeCame here for a tour with our GS troop. Didnt sound that interesting but wow! Our tour guide Sara was so knowledgeable and made it fun and educational for the girls. They had a short interactive lecture with her and then she took us around and showed us all the printing presses thru the years with a short demonstration on each. Even I learned a lot about the history and how books were made. They are located in Carson just off the Harbor Freeway and so close to us. I would highly recommend everyone to visit, especially kids who loves books.

So awesome. We took a big field trip of about 35 kids and adults and had an awesome time. I was amazed and how many working devices they have, and even more that they let us do the actual printing on some of the smaller presses - dating back to 1865! We were very impressed with the working Linotype machine, and the replica of the Guttneburg press. The tour was just right for a couple hours field trip, and the staff very helpful and friendly. Everyone had a great time, and walked away with a good days worth of education!

One of the largest printing museums in the US. The Museum opens at 10am on Saturday and the $10 admission includes a tour, printed page from the Gutenberg press, printed souvenir page, and linotype line you select. The first tour starts at 10:15 so get there when it opens as it lasts 90 minutes and there is only one tour at a time. We learned of printing from the time before the press, to the first press, and then to the innovations to the present with lots of examples in the museum. We saw type cast from lead, presses in action, and the LINOTYPE machine in use.We then spent time after the tour going through all the exhibits. It took a bit over 2 hours to see everything and we could have spent much longer. The docents were very happy to answer all our questions.
