I enjoy this place. There are beautiful walking trails that lead to the river that are maintained. The farm is active; raising grass fed beef, turkeys, chickens and goats. They have a wonderful little store where all is available, including raw milk, eggs and many other yummy items.

I love the path through the preserve for running. Its covered with finely crushed gravel, so its easier on the joints than pavement. And Im more likely to see deer than humans on the trail. All Grass Farms is also there, so I can buy fresh eggs after.

Absolutely beautiful! One of my new favorite spots! Cute and friendly kitties even greeted us upon arrival. We also saw goats, turkey, chickens, cows, and plenty of wild birds and deer during our walk. The animals seem so happy and the paths make for a lovely walk.

Could have been a great place but I will not go back...no one wearing masks that are mandated by the state for public places. I wore a mask there and had no idea what their philosophy was prior to going. I felt they put me at risk.

Large, quite, clean place. Nice small store with milk, eggs, meat, dressings and spices and some handmade-organic beauty products. Prices are a bit high, but its ok if you buy time to time, though they have permanent customers and milk is sold out in the first 2 hours daily. From what I saw, they have cows, sheeps, chickens, pigs. You can take your bike for a fresh air ride. There is really no odor.

This place is absolutely phenomenal. They take such good care of their customers and take the time to make sure each person knows what they are buying and how to cook and handle it. Being a noobie to the fresh food world I was definitely impressed with the customer service and felt valued as a person, not a dollar sign when shopping here. 100% worth my travel time and money spent.

I havent actually gone to the forest preserve, but the country store on the farm is absolutely phenomenal. I think they continue to add more products as I keep finding more to buy each time I go in there. Definitely want to keep this place going and support local farmers and local products, which is way more healthy than getting food elsewhere. Very impressed with the county farm store; check it out before going to the forest preserve.

This is a huge swath of open land with the Fox River as its Eastern border but there’s no access to the river for fishing, paddling, picnics, etc. There’s a farm and store for parents and kids with a small parking lot and shelter a mile and a half from the river - ?? The walk (bike?) path goes around the land in a large circle and it’s way too far to carry picnic or fishing gear, coolers, kayaks, canoes, etc. This is a Kane County Forest Preserve. Why was river access ignored? Is this the plan for the near future? Is it even being considered? Who is the “Brunner family” and do they have something to do with this? What about the land between the farm and the river? The farm/store (All Grass Farms) appears to be a business so do they lease from Kane County? Does Kane County subsidize All Grass Farms? Was this business the only consideration for all this land? I am a tax-paying citizen and homeowner in Kane County, they need to build a simple dirt or gravel road that leads to a parking lot by the river. Put up a few signs for typical liability purposes, some benches, a few picnic tables, and an outhouse or 2. It doesnt have to be fancy. Develop it more and build a small brick restroom facility later. This is precisely what Mchenry, Lake, Cook, and thousands of other counties across the USA do for tax AND fishing/paddling license paying citizens. Do this and guess what? Fishermen/women, picnickers, and many others can actually use and enjoy the land, patronize the farm/store, and refer their friends and family. Everybody wins. I hope someone from All Grass Farms reads this and does something as the chances are nil that a County official will. Of course, if a miracle happens and they do consider this, it will likely take years for them to do anything. Until then, what a shame.

Ive had the privelage of watching Brunner Family Farm evolve over the past 4 years. It is a beautiful place to walk. I would love to see a wheelchair friendly walking path so more people could enjoy it. Smaller and more intimate than other places. Great place to go and get away from people. The Farm Store staff isnt friendly, but dont let their snooty attitude ruin your visit. Barn cats are very friendly and will let you pet them-dont take them home, though. They are official Brunner citizens.

Review №45

I love this place! The associates are knowledgeable and kind. Ive been drinking raw milk for 20 years and this is by far the best tasting and highest quality. For people who may feel out of their element and have a lot of questions about raw milk and the other products: the staff will happily answer your questions without being condescending (as has been my experience at other raw milk producers) It has always been my dream to have a farm like this where I can sell directly to the consumer, but since that dream never came to be, visiting here is the closest I will come. The quality of the products are unsurpassed which is why I drive an hour each way. For higher volume milk drinkers, they offer a cow-share program, but since the proteins are not destroyed and putrified by pasteurization to lengthen shelf life, you should only purchase enough so that it will be consumed in the shortest amount of time. AGF has recommended guidelines. The animals are well treated, valued, and well cared for, and it shows. Thank you, AGF!

What a wide open trail. About 10 ft. Wide! No trees to block your view. I saw adsolutely no one else The crushed limestone base is quite spongy, not compacted; so you are going to have to gear down and work your way through. Park at the Carpentersvlle dam. There is a trail heading south too but the Forest Preserve has dropped several large trees over it. Brunner is actually an industrialized farm with a section of land along the river preserved. I would not advise bringing children as the farm is protected by an electrified barb wire fence bordering the trail. The trail ends abruptly at the Buffalo Snow board park. Do not venture out onto Hwy. 31 Suicide move. Fight your way through the brush onto the snowboard hill and down to the river. From there you can safely make your way across the river through Algonquin and head south on the Fox River bike trail.

Who do you think you are keeping those animals closely compacted infront of a main road like that, pure animal cruelty. Quit killing animals and eating their period eggs. Learn ethics!! I will never support a business that exploits animals. Not even a family one. Animals are not objects to make money off of. Try gardening as your new hobby, thank me later. (:
