Gorgeous city park with a duck pond, splash pad, a rubber-padded playground, multiple shelters, and a turf baseball field hosting a D1 university (SEMO) and summer collegiate field. I really enjoyed stopping here between state VB games games! Would highly recommend going there on a nice if you’re new to the area or just passing through!

This park has come a long way since I grew up here. It seems almost everything has been updated. The playground, new splash pad, updated ballpark, and Frisbee golf are just a few things that are great about this park. The only negative thing I have to say is the geese are a little aggressive. Be careful with the kids by the pond.

Lots of renovations lately, which is great. New splash pad for kids is a great addition. The walkway around the pond is still kind of messy but its a great place to visit and take your kids.

Capaha Park is a wonderful place for all ages. There is a playground for kids, with swings for toddlers and for bigger kids. There is also a real locomotive that is a great climber for older kids and tweens, that has been at the park for at least 50 years. There are two picnic shelters, one for a medium-sized group, and the other for larger groups, such as school groups.Perhaps Capaha Parks jewel is the pond, which has a permanent duck and geese population. People fish in the pond for both recreation and for food. Theres also a baseball park, where the SEMO team plays, and a band shell, where community bands play on Wednesday nights during the summer.

I love this park. Been visiting it since I was a child and have taken my children there as they grew up as well

Love this park I really love the rubber Chips my child is clumsy and she runs to fast and falls all the time much more comfortable than the wood chips some parks have lol

They’ve done a lot to make this look very nice. They’ve added so many new exciting things. I think it updates Cape Girardeau a lot. Love the new looks, and I think they did a great job.

We had my sons 5th birthday party at Pavillion #3 and had a blast! The splash pad is AWESOME!!

This is really beautiful park. The pond is inhabited by a variety of very curious ducks and geese.

If was for the extreme amount of flies while trying to eat, it would of been nice.

We rented Pavillion 1.Parks and recreation didnt bother to clean the area or trash cans before our reserved time, they were very full, so flies were everywhere. It was a rush to clean up everything, as it was filthy, and we ended up not coooming because of the cans attracting the flies. Over all very disappointed. Splash pad and bathrooms were well maintained.

Great park. My kids love to play first and then feed the friendly ducks that are always waddling around near the pond.

Nice park in the middle of town with plenty to do. A couple of playgrounds for kids, a ball park to catch a baseball game, ultimate frisbee, a lake with lots of ducks and pretty scenery, and a nice sidewalk that runs around the whole park.

This park is pretty large and bautiful so I love walking around it. Its not nearly as clean as I would like it to be, because the trash in the pond and the litter in the streets and grass make the park not-so-beautiful. The bathrooms are also not very kept in shape. Other than that, I enjoy hanging out around here, and I would recommend because its near a gas station.

Capaha park is a very nice park! There are playgrounds there, and a pond full of ducks! Theres always something going on over at Capaha park, like the womens march, PRIDE, and the Cape Girardeau Municipal band, are all examples of things that happen at different times in the year. It is the perfect location for a barbecue with friends, and is surely perfect for children.

I only come here to play pokemon go mostly. There are literally dozens if pokestops. There is also a splash pad and a playground and a baseball field if youre into that kind of thing.

Went to Capaha park with the kids for a pop up movie night and took them back to play at the park. With as many people that visit I would have to say the park it pretty clean. They have many places to for kids to play.

There are always fun things to do for the family. The children love walking by the water and visiting the ducks. They are always entertained by the different play areas . Toddlers and older kids can enjoy this park. The restrooms are clean, outside grills are available . Also a baseball park is in the same area. Dont forget to check out events such as The walk for homeless veterans hosted at Capaha Park this morning.

I have been going here for years. I played at this park as a child and now my kids do. I love that they are upgrading the park as well. The improvements so far look great.

Nice spacious park in the heart of Cape. Really good views and the pond is really nice. Sometimes the geese can be mean but other than that a really nice place to go.

The upgrades are incredible. This was fastly becoming a tired mid-city park and its beauty was being lost. New splash pad, baseball field, permanent restrooms, laid out parking, and more. The City of Cape Girardeau has renewed this beautiful keepsake for young and old.

Good playground for kids of all ages. Soft rubber chad underneath everything for safety. The rock mountain is a bit dangerous and climbable for kids younger than the labeled recommended age (5-12), so youll want to watch your kids if theyre 3 or 4.

Its a great place to hangout. Different things for everyone to enjoy.

My kids had a blast there all the playground equipment and the ducks you can feed theyll eat right out of your hand if you let them. The train they can climb on. All of it. They loved it.

Rage goose aside, it is a beautiful park but there is an obscene amount of goose and dog poop. Its absolutely disgusting. Also, there isnt a single trash can around the lagoon, but there are an abundance of trash cans in the parking lots near the ball field. Make Capaha Great Again!

Very clean kid and animal friendly place. We went for the very first pride festival hosted by Cape Girardeau, Mo . We had a very pleasant day. Perfect weather as well.

The capshaw park is a great place to bring your children, your dogs, your cats and anyone or any thing you want. The playground is phenomenal! Its big a and has a lot to enjoy. The pond it nice and during the summer/spring you can feed the ducks. There is a large pavillion equip with tables and lights for day or night enjoyment. There is a large baseball field as well which is currently under construction but should be completed shortly! I hope everyone that visits makes the most out of it!

Great park in the heart of Cape Girardeau. They have recently upgraded some of the playground equipment and are in the middle of renovations for a significant portion of the park. It is also home to the SEMO Redhawks baseball and softball field.

I think a lot of good things are happening here. Theres a lot of potential to revive the place, but the lack of restrooms that arent port-a-potties is a real downer.

Only getting better the additions and upgrades going on right now...will make it one of the best world wide.

Go!! Let the kids play at the park or run after ducks. Either way they are entertained.

A nice park to visit. Much of it is very well maintained. There is a very nice pond. Some go to eat there on their lunch break. This park is also easy to find as it is on Broadway, one of Capes busiest roads.

Capaha Park is one of the older parks in Cape, in a mediocre part of town. Its well on the way to being renovated, with the majority of the playgrounds & pavilions being already updated & work underway on the rest. Ive heard others tell of uncomfortable experiences around questionable people hanging around, but Ive always been perfectly comfortable taking my three-year old there. In all honesty, though, its not an area where Id linger after dark.

Love going here for a walk or to feed the ducks. But beware the geese

Capaha Park is a great little family friendly park, perfect for a walk or a great place to take the kids. Capaha offers 3 playgrounds, several picnic shelters, and several points of interest. The Capaha Park rose garden, established in the mid-1950s, is a must see in season, and concerts are held at the bandshell during summer. The Capaha Lagoon has a path around it for walking, and offers fishing and a host of duck and goose friends to feed. There is also a newly renovated ball field. Great place to visit.

Nice park, offers a few separate play areas, with a smaller one for the tiny tots. Nice pond with ducks and geese u can feed. Picnic tables, under a pavilion. We enjoyed our visit.

Love the new play equipment. Try to stop any time we are in town. Love feeding the Geese.
