Our experience with Paradise Rental was great!! I’m going to be completely honest, I was a little bit nervous about renting because some of their reviews but the price was great so I thought I would give it a try. They are obviously under new ownership because we had a wonderful experience! The check in was super fast, we got there around 8:50 and we’re pulling out of the dock by 9:05. They had water skis and tubes that you could use for free with our rental (which was a blast!) The boat was large and super clean. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we’re going to be joining their Boat Club! I would highly recommend Paradise Rentals!!

I had an incredible experience renting with Paradise. The staff was friendly and more than eager to be helpful in anyway possible. Our group had an incident with the tide going out a little quicker than anticipated, however, the staff, including the owner, helped us out every step of the way and did it with a great attitude the whole time. The company never once tried overcharging us for anything and were genuinely more concerned about us enjoying our time, rather than making an extra buck. Will definitely be back to Paradise Boat Rentals anytime Im in Cape Coral.

Our experience with Paradise was wonderful. If you have a realistic approach to how Florida weather works the Paradise team does as well. Cody worked with us throughout our stay and made the whole process very simple. We could not have happier with the rental and equipment. Boat started first try every time. My cousin was in town and we rented a hurricane deck boat. Overall boat I was in rough shape. Tears rips, and dings. The boat is limited to 22 MPH. Made for a long trip while boating along the coast. We saw the same boat with same engine and they were substantially faster.you spend all your time getting to your destination.

Here is a review on a business that I am sure is likely at standstill due to the virus. From the beginning I had a great deal on a great boat for last week......which we couldnt make. This company was as receptive with my cancellation as they were in attracting business. Immediate response to my request for refund.Paradise is a stand up company that is exceeding expectations during this crisis. When I get to Fla for this missed vacation, I for sure will do business here. This is a very good company and the best option for SW Fla boat rental. Thank you!!

We rented a pontoon boat for 3 days from here. It’s supposed to come with a full tank of gas and only come with half (we returned it with more gas than we picked up with). The lights don’t work so coming back at sunset was extremely dangerous. Half the speakers didn’t work. There was a huge piece missing off the propellor didn’t the boat moved at a snail pace. They didn’t have infant life jackets yet they advertise online that they do so I had to go purchase one for 100 dollars. My husband mentioned all this and the person working could’ve cared less. Considering the amount of money that was spent we would’ve like some type of refund to compensate for all the broken stuff. Reporting to BBB also to make sure they’re aware they rent dangerous equipment

Terrible, terrible,TERRIBLE! We rented a boat and it wouldn’t even plane. They give you a free tube but the boat won’t go fast enough to pull it. We got a free boat rental because the first one wouldn’t run and we leaned now or their boat go over 10 miles an hour. Do not rent from them!

Rented a 24ft Hurricane deckboat, 250 Yamaha. Arrived and got loaded on the boat right away, the boat had 1/4 tank of fuel. Had to stop at Cape Coral Yacht Club and fill up for 100.00, aggravating, but without fuel, you cant go anywhere.Got back on the river, 250 Yamaha and the boat doesnt go more than 22mph at 6200 rpms.Run to Cayo Costa and noticed the fuel was out again. The guages stopped working. So now we can afford to take a chance and run out. So we made it to Pine Island Marina, put another 150.00 in fuel there to make it back.250.00 in fuel, absolutely freaking ridiculous for a boat ride. Told Cody when we got back, he could have cared less what we had to say. So beware, that boat has issues and I will not be renting there again.They can keep their special deals, because its not a deal when you have to spend 250.00 in fuel.Sad that I spend fun money for the day during Covid19, that I really dont have to and Cody gives 2 Fs about our families experience.

We got a good pontoon boat for our family vacation. The guys at the shop were very helpful on where to go around the waterways. The price was right and the pontoon worked good. I would recommend at least the 115 motor if you have a boat full of people.

The boat that we were to use was having mechanical difficulties. They offered a small center console fishing boat as a substitute. Once we got to the channel we tried to accelerate but it wouldn’t get above 10 mph at 6000 rpms on the motor. I called them and they said that boat was hard to plane. Occasionally we were able to get up to speed but it was an effort. We got back after about four hours of frustration. They apologized for the boat and in fact one of the guys said they’ve been having problems with that boat. I asked one of the guys what pitch prop they had on it. He told me then run aluminum props. I don’t think he knew what I was asking. I felt like we should get our money back or a voucher for a future ride but the person I talked to made excuses as to why they couldn’t. They told me the owner would call me but never did.

I could not have been happier with our experience! Staff was very knowledgeable about the area - where to do water sports, where to get drinks and food, where to see the dolphins, etc. The boat came with fishing equipment and all water sports equipment FOR FREE upon request. Such an awesome time! Great staff!

BEWARE of how this company handle your $500 deposit. They ask for your credit card to make, as they say, just a reservation for the deposit. It is a written reservation on paper. When you return with the boat they give you the piece of paper back and say that everything is ok and you think everything is cleared. Later when you look at your account there is still a reservation for $500. For us the $500 were still locked 6(!!!) days after the rental. Then we called them and asked why. “No, we do not make any reservations on your card, it is only a paper reservation”.We were a little hesitatative and trying to find out what this $500 reservation was on our account. THEN, about 2 hours after our call to them, the reservation was gone - the money was available again.This is not a acceptable behavior for a business.Now when I have read earlier reservations I can see that this have happened before so I wonder if this is something they try and might get away with some times.By the way, the boat was clean and nice so nothing to say about that.

Had a fantastic weekend of boating and jet-skis with family and friends. Everything went smooth, despite my own lack of knowledge about watercraft. Collin and Julius were great to work with. The highlight of our family reunion.A friend had recommended Paradise Rentals because he rented from them before and it turned out to be a very good recommendation. We made reservations for one of their full size boats and a Jet Ski. What an experience. Captain Colin took care of our large group of 12 and we received a top notch captains briefing (which was not easy with all the screaming kids). He explained the water ways, where we would encounter dolphins and where to go tubing. And we did see dolphins!!!They even followed our boat for a while jumping in the wakes. They gave us a very nice and spacious boat (I believe it was a Hurricane). It was clean, had nice cushions, a lot of shade for the grandmas and came with a GPS navigation system which was very helpful. The motor was strong enough to even pull a tube while we were all on the boat. The boys (young and old) took turns driving the Jet Ski. I could not believe how fast these skis were.It took us only 45 minutes from their marina to get to Sanibel, where we were hanging out pretty much the entire day, cruising, tubing, fishing, swimming and shelling.What a great day thanks to Paradise. Well be back for sure.

What a fun day in the Sun! A couple of buddies of mine from school decided we would go out and rent a boat. I spoke to a nice lady on the phone a week before the scheduled trip and arranged everything ahead of time.When we arrived, a great captains briefing was given to us, which was more than necessary, even for experienced boaters. Maps, GPS and Charts all go out on the boat with you which is great. Free fishing rods and Wakeboards came along with the Rental which made the entire day even better. The boat was in pretty good shape considering it sits outside in Florida year round. Everything worked fine and the stereo was better than expected. We had perfect weather and caught some nice fish and waves.Can not recommend this place enough!! Great spot to rent a boat.Thank you Paradise!!

Paradise Boat Rentals – Boat Club ReviewDon’t be scared off by the negative review, most of them were written about the previous owner. From what I understand the ownership was changed in late 2017.This will be a review of the “Boat Club” at Paradise Boat Rentals located on Del Prado Blvd S in Cape Coral, FL. We arrived in late December, 2018 and are here through mid April 2019. We are snowbirds from MN where we live on a lake and boat all summer long.We looked at various boat clubs that were available in the area and we chose the 10 Rental Package offered by Paradise Boat Rentals. The decision was easy because unlike others, they have no initial “buy-in”. They keep it simple, you commit to either a 7, 10 or 30 day rental package and you receive a discount from their daily rate. Now here’s the nice part… the rentals do NOT need to be consecutive days. We were able to schedule 10 days throughout the 3 months we were here. Additionally, rescheduling a rental was NEVER an issue.After a few rentals you get to know the staff. I’d have to say that Eric and his staff (Cody, and both Matt’s) were always pleasant to work with. They are mostly a younger staff and I have to say they know how to treat their customers. Always professional!We were impressed by the condition of the boats. In 10 rentals, there was never an issue that prevented us from having fun. Isn’t that what it’s all about? We rented pontoons and Hurricane deck boats. Note – most of their pontoons are tri-toons, which make for a much drier ride if you encounter wind and a high inland chop.BOATING TIP – If this is your first time boating in Cape Coral and you have a smart phone, do this a couple days before your rental - download the Navionics Boating Marine & Lakes App. If you’re only doing a single rental, the app provides a trial period. After the trial period you can upgrade for $15. We found the app invaluable. The biggest issue folks have is getting confused about which side of the channel marker they should be on. This app shows you where you are at on the waters, along with all the channel markers and even provides a centerline in the channel for you to follow so you don’t end up grounding the boat on a sandbar or worse yet - an oyster bed. Which we never did BTW, but saw others grounded. Even though their boats come equipped with GPS, having a “captain” steering and a “navigator” looking at the Navionics app, works great until you are comfortable with the waters.FUELING TIP. Paradise is not able to fill the boats with gas before your departure. Initially, we thought this was going to be a huge hassle, but it really wasn’t. You simply visit a gas dock right away instead of filling up before you return the boat. You return the boat with approx. the same amount of fuel when you rented it. If you head south toward the Gulf of Mexico you can purchase gas at Marine Max or at the Boat House Tiki Bar & Grill (Redfish Point). If you decide to go north, you can fuel up at Fort Myers Yacht Basin. We found the cheapest fuel at Fort Myers Yacht Basin, followed by Marine Max, then the Boat House Tiki Bar & Grill.

Awesome experience! We had so much fun.. Collin was great.. went above and beyond to help us out and make sure we really knew what we were doing and where we were going.. with out him we would have been lost! Thanks Collin!

I am surprised at these reviews I have had nothing but a wonderful experience with this company since the beginning, I am new to the boaters world and any and all questions have been answered. Over the weekend we had a little boating trouble and when no one could help us out, we were going to pull the boat and give up but the kiddos were so disappointed, so I decided to run over to the helpful guys here at paradise, they were more than happy to help and at no cost to me. I will never go anywhere else, they always remember my name and have been polite from the beginning.... They will continue to work on our boat!!!

This place is now great! New owners have replaced the boats, remodeled the store and hired helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I would absolutely rent from these wonderful people again.

Had one of the best days of my life renting a boat from here! The pricing is the best by far, the boat was really nice, we got to see dolphins, and the staff is very helpful! Especially Alex, who was patient and informative. An overall great experience

The people were nice enough but sitting in a room with stale cigarette smoke for 45 minutes going over the maps etc. was not a good way to start the day. The boat we had was very dirty and we brought home a cockroach that was in the dry storage area. He / she must have jumped in our bag. When we were in an emergency situation, that required us to hail the sheriffs boat, we found the horn did not work nor was there an air horn. We ended up going up the river and having to cut off the sheriff to get his attention. When I brought this up when we returned the boat I was told the horns rust out quickly but there is a whistle on the key chain. Okay, stop the boat shut off the engine and use this very grungy whistle to try and hail another boat. The navigation system was sooo small we mostly used the maps and our phones. The few times we were able to open up the boat to about 35mph the engine sounded very tired and knocked a lot. Over all not a great experience! As a previous owner of several different boats we have only rented boats a few dozen times across the US and none were ever in such poor condition.

These people are complete scam artist. I rented a boat sight unseen from them with the understanding it was a newer boat (They said less than 1 year old). They delivered a completely different 10 year old boat to my home in Naples that was full of rust and even had ripped seats. There response was that since I was renting for 2 months and the boat I rented was not back yet they sent this for 3 days and would deliver the correct boat. They never called and mentioned any of this just showed up with this old boat. They also never mentioned a delivery fee of $350 cash only. When the boat arrived we refused delivery and they just sent an email saying they would not refund our $8000 paid for the two month period. Also - When the driver arrived with the wrong boat the owners of the business would not answer the phone. They just hid. I would not consider doing business with this group!!! We ended up renting a brand new boat in Marco Island that is 100% perfect for much less money!

Friendly guys, good service. However, the boats are very old and worn out. The boat we had was from 1999 and had a very old two stroke engine. For the prices these guys charge you would expect a newer boat with a more modern and fuel economic 4 stroke engine. Also, the fuel meter didnt work, which is ok if you have the boat for one day but if you rent it for more days that could get you into trouble. The briefing was very thorough and you get good maps.Overall a good experience but for the quality of the boats theyre definitely too pricey, hence the 3 stars.

We went on a vacation to Florida, me and my boys decided to rent a boat. We used paradise Boat rental we all had a blast from start to end. The service we had was amazing and affordable.

They were very helpful at the store. They gave us great advice of where to go on our boat. We were able to see dolphins and manatees. The boat was very clean and in excellent condition. We would rent from them again.

Which we were fine to do if we really damaged the item. Its just funny how the only thing we didnt know to check initially before our trip (bc we dont know much about boats) is the one thing thy said we broke. You know its scamming when you challenge it and they are more then eager to settle with any amount. Save yourself money and time and go a little further down the street for your rental. SCAM!! Wish I could give negative stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Con artists & Thieves - DO NO USE THIS COMPANYDo not rent from this company. We paid in advance for a 7 day hire of a pontoon boat. When we arrived at the shop we were informed that the Pontoon boat had been returned damaged by the previous renters so they gave us an upgrade to a battered, old speedboat. They took a manual $500 security deposit which they said would not be charged unless the boat was returned damaged.They were supposed to swap the boats over in 2-3 days but we heard nothing until day 5 when they informed us that our boat was ready and they needed to come pick up the other boat. They collected the other boat but never bought back the pontoon boat. They later informed us that it was in for testing and would be with us shortly. A few hours later when the boat didnt arrive we rang again to find out where it was and the lady who answered told us it had been returned that day with damage - obviously a stock answer when they double book their craft.They promised it would be delivered again the next day and again it never arrived. We told them not to bother bringing it as it was lunchtime on our final day of hire and that they would simply be bringing us the boat for us to return it that same afternoon.Heres where the fun started. We went to get our refund for the 2 days and get back our $500 security swipe. They eventually (after a bit of negotiation) refunded our 2 days hire but told us they didnt have our paperwork to give us back our $500 swipe but to be assured they would rip up the voucher & it wouldnt be charged. I rang Julius (the German owner) and asked him to confirm this by e-mail to which he agreed - surprise surprise, the email never came.I logged on to my credit card account and saw that they had charged the $500 to my card the day I took the boat on hire. I went back to the shop the next day & they had miraculously found the paperwork and handed me back the voucher for $500. When I said that it had already been charged to my account, they said that it had now been refunded. We returned to the UK the next day and to date, this money STILL has not been refunded.These people are con artists who prey on the unsuspecting. Their boats are old and battered and I implore you to read reviews of other boat rental companies and choose a different one. They obviously put their own sham reviews on websites to dampen the effect of all the negative reviews they receive. If this review stops 1 person using this bunch of fraudsters then I will have done some good.

I have used this company numerous times super friendly staff boats are always in great condition and they have a great time to return the boat most companies are till 4 or 5 but they let you keep boat till sunset for the same price as the other companies... I highly recommend this A+ company

Rented a boat for almost two weeks from paradise boat rentals while visiting Captiva/north Captiva. Not only were they easy to work with up front, they were attentive to any questions I had during the rental and flexible returning the boat. The boat ran extremely well, captain Chris was great and helped me get familiar with the local waters. The team provided all sorts of extra services and accessories with the rental that made it an even better experience. We will be back next year and use them again.

Fortunately we had a lovely day to go out in our boat. But the boat was not in good condition, worn and dirty. They even said the propeller was in tough shape and had lots of use but was OK. Then the first thing they said when we returned was what did you hit the blade was bent on the prop. They said the depth finder should have warned us of shallow water, which it didnt. They said thats because previous drivers may have shut off the alarm. They ended up charging us for refurbishing the prop and didnt credit us for previous wear or the fact that their equipment wasnt working properly. We will never go back there again.

The price is great for someone who just wants a couple days on the water. Our boat was a little beat up and the registration was expired but the employees were responsive and helpful. I would use them again.

They debit the 500$ deposit although we gave a perfect boat with 100$ fuel more back, than we take the boat from them. Be aware of this company and think about making any business.

Stay away. I ignored the negative reviews hoping for a good experience and it didnt happen. Had a boat reserved for 9:00 am and after arriving (as instructed) at 8:30 to do paperwork I knew we were in for a bad deal. After spending 45+ minutes on an overkill amount of paperwork, safety rules, maps, etc... Julius told us our boat was delayed. He said they were bringing it from Captiva and were running late, it would be another 30 minutes. However, after another 45 minutes (now after 10:00 am) Julius advised the boat still hadnt left Captiva and it would be yet another 45-60 minutes. So our 9:00 am (one day only) rental had turned into a departure of at least 11:15-11:45 am. We said forget it and cancelled. Julius promised to refund my credit card immediately. No surprise, but that didnt happen. After another 5 days later and still no refund I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.Stay away; poor service, very shady operation and not someone you want to give your business to.

We just signed up for their Boat Club! Were soooo excited. In the past two weeks weve rented from them twice and they even prorated our membership fee. Their staff is incredible. Very nice, professional and knowledgeable. They took the time to educate us about the entire area and all the places to go. Not your typical 5 minute briefing. We really like their boats. They have a very large selection and different categories from sport boat to pontoon boats and Center Consoles. All nice boats with GPS and great stereo systems where you can connect your iPhone to play your own music. All the watersport and fishing equipment is free (!) Their marina is very conveniently located (just minutes from our new vacation home here in Cape Coral and only 45 Minutes to Sanibel. We just moved down from Mass and are very happy that we found Paradise Boat Rentals.

The boat was super old; not like the one that shown on the picture. We rented one for 1 day. We took it out for about 4 hours. They charged us more than $500 total for renting, insurance, tax, and gas. We rented boats many times from Marco Island, Isle Capri, Naples, and Fort Myers. This is the first time that we paid that much for renting. I would never come back and would not recommend this place to my friends and family.

It does not get any better. Weve rented from several boat rental places here in town, since were not ready to buy a boat yet, but Paradise is by far the best. Thorough Captains briefing, fast boats, incredible nice staff (they even helped us carrying our stuff from the car to the boat) and a special fishing chart with all the hot spots from their fishing guides. We had a blast every time weve rented from them. The only negative weve experienced so far, was, they ran out of ice & bait because they were so busy. We especially enjoyed their extended rental hours until sunset. Last time we came back, Cpt. Brian even cleaned all the fish for us we caught. What a service...Havent seen such a nice & professional boat rental place for years.Nice and friendly receptionist, pirate theme shop and a very good boat introduction (which was quite necessary, since were new to the area). We rented one of their mid size deck boats and were surprised how fast the boat was. Our kids enjoyed the tube ride (came with the boat). We went to the beach at Cayo Costa and could not believe there was nobody else. Just us. All in all a perfect day on the water. Well be back for sure.Tom

Rented the midsize deck boat. Was scared of some of the reviews regarding maintenance... We had no issues. Boat ran fine. We did ask for a good boat (laughingly) and also they give Police/Firefighter discounts. Walked right in and right onto the boat. Your navigation skills will need to be on point as the ICW is no joke, they do provide maps and instructions. Stay within the markers and youll be fine. ICW 64-66, moody canal. Customer service 5/5. I couldnt complain.

They charge your card the security deposit of 500$, and never make the refund!October the 5th, 2016 we rented a boat from Paradise Boat Rentals for 2 days.No damages were found when inspected at return. A few days later, we started to wonder why we didn’t receive our 500$. Two emails, a FB message and a phone call later we still haven’t heard anything, nor received our deposit.Luckily, my bank (Danske Bank) have been very supportive and helpful in this process of getting back my refund!Tom

My advice is to stay away from this company. I am still trying to get my $500 deposit back from this company along with the 2 days of rental they couldnt provide me my boat. Many phone calls and email no response.Juliuis or Victoria wont return any phone calls. I had to get credit card company to dispute charges. I had Florida attorney general to contact them and they didnt respond to attorney general letter. Rented a boat for 1 week were not able to pick up until Wednesday. This was week of March 13th-17th. Julius called us monday morning that the boat we rented was damaged on sunday and we would not be able to pick up. Tuesday Julius called and said boat is still not ready so pick up wouild be wednesday. When we were finally able to pick up boat we ended up with a different boat than we originally rented. You want to make sure you get a 4 stroke motor when renting a boat in Florida.we of course ended up with a beat up boat with a 2 stroke motor that was questionable on the water. I am still trying to recoup my deposit of all things along with 2 days of rental. You would think a company that was legit would at least return a call getting them to actually answer the phone is another thing. You are crazy if you even think about renting from this company.

Great Boat, great service, reasonable price and a phantastic day on the water.All the watersport & fishing equipment was free and the kids hat a lot of fun with it. They did not want to stop tubing. They even convinced me to get in the tube (which was a big mistake by the way....) Boat was almost new, clean, had a fresh water shower and GPS and came with a big bimini top to protect us pale faces from the sun. The introduction was very detailed, they showed us the places where the dolphins hang out and where to get the best food on the water (Woodys on Monroe Canal). At Picnic Island the dolphins came even close to the boat and traveled with us for a while. We watched the sunset right before we returned to their marina. We will be back next year for sure.

Rented at Paradise Boat Rentals for the third time. Last time and this time we unfortunately had a problem with the engine, but the way Paradise reacted was very professional. They refunded us the two missing days and managed to give us a new boat for the last three days of our 1 week rental. You can get lots of toys (waterski, wakeboard, tube), which I assume you dont get at any other rental places.Take time for the registration, because the waterways at caloosahatchee and the gulf are very tricky, but you are informed well by the whole team and get good maps. I am not a frequent boater and got along quiet well.I think that some of the boats should be substituted due to the age and condition but the rest worked perfect. We will definitely come back again next year.

Rented a boat to take the family to sanibel island & ft myers beach, the boat was older but clean & ran well. we had a great day cruising the ICW saw some dolphins down by sanibel island. price was good the people were great to deal with.

We rented a small coast guard approved for 11 people boat from Paradise Boat Rentals for the week. We were going to take the boat, 8 people, our luggage, and groceries for the week on an hour and half boat trip to North Captiva Island, Florida. The people at Paradise Boat Rentals assured us all that it would be safe and was an easy trip for even non-experienced boaters. We told them we were arriving at 5:00 pm and were they sure it would be enough time. Again, they assured us we would have plenty of time. We were worried about being trapped in bad weather again they assured us that the forecast was good at “it was usually nice weather this time of day.” All these statements were very misleading. The trip was a disaster. We did not leave the dock until almost 6 pm. Two the boat was almost empty so we had to stop and get gas on our way out. Three my brother-n-law and wife grew up on a boat but this was not any easy place to get around. There are channel markers everywhere and if you go on either side of them you will hit bottom. There are numbered flags all along the channels directing you through the shallow water. We got lost. Three it poured down rain and stormed after the first 30 minutes we were on the water. The upsetting thing is it rained the same time EVERY night we were there and several locals told us this is always the case. So why did the people at Paradise Boat Rentals not know this simple fact? Why did they not have the boat filled with gas? Why would they send a group of 8 people with 4 young children on this trip? We had to have the coast guard direct us in the middle of the storm to a hotel to stay that first night because we did not even come close to North Captiva. Luckily north Captivia was beautiful and was a great vacation despite Paradise Boat Rentals trying to ruin our vacation. Do NOT rent from these people. They care about one thing and it is not your safety!

Great service quality boats and equipment very clean nice environment

We rented for the 2nd time. boat was disgusting. captains chair was in pieces, wood support sticking out, unusable. i knew for my previous rental 3 years ago that their boats are a bit worn down and not the most clean ones, but this year was unbelievable. we rented during high season, i had no option to say no thanks.the security deposit was charged to our credit card DURING our rental period. we had not even returned the boat, yet. yes sir, we will refund you tomorrow in the morning (clown collins)to date i am still fighting to get my money back.the first time we had no financial issues, but engine troubles. wouldnt go below 3000 revs, some cable got stuck and didnt move. no wonder with their maintenance... lost nearly a full day (without refund)last year we rented at a different place, boat and treatment was much, much better, sorry cant remember the name, but was in cape coral, too. will have to look it up for next year, because paradise boat rental will never happen again to us

I just read a review that I think is unfair and would like to add my own experience. I rented a boat from Paradise just a week and a half ago. I thought it was a great and wonderful experience. The staff there is very friendly and knowledgeable. It does take a while from entering their door to getting out on the water but only because there is a lot of information to go over about the channels and charts and markers and safety issues. We covered a lot of very important safety material which I thought was pretty important since I am from the suburbs of Chicago and unfamiliar with the Gulf channels. We went over the charts as well as fuel stations, safe harbors, dicey areas to stay away from, best shell beaches, where best to hang with dolphins, nice restaurants on the water, etc. I thought they were very thorough and showed a genuine concern that our trip be as safe and enjoyable as possible. It took about forty-five minutes to cover everything. This was for OUR safety and enjoyment. Renting a boat and going into unfamiliar waters is not like renting a car and going on a trip. Anybody who thinks you can just hop in a boat in unfamiliar water and take off in 15 minutes without proper instruction is the one who lacks concern for their own safety and the safety of their passengers. We were on the water for eight hours just cruising around and having fun(except for the hour we had to stop). We went up to Captiva in about an hour or so and then back down around Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach. We checked the charts often and didnt have any problems at all. The channels are all really well marked and numbered and I dont understand how they could have gotten lost. There are bridges and light houses and markers everywhere! Look on a map, the distance from PBR to Captiva is only about twenty miles and half of that is in a river channel. There are numerous harbors on the maps to dodge into in case it rains which we did in fact have to do ourselves. We had to sit it out for about an hour. The rain does come in every afternoon but it is hit and miss and is gone in 30-60 minutes. Youre on the water in Florida, its not like you cant see the rain coming in a half hour before it reaches you. If you know how to handle a boat and feel comfortable enough to rent one then I would highly recommend Paradise Boat Rental. If you DONT know how to handle a boat and you want to go out on one then I would suggest you find a skipper or pilot to take you around. Youll have a lot of fun and no worries. When I go back to Fort Myers Beach on vacation I plan to rent from Paradise again. With the experience I gained on this first trip I expect the next one to be even more fun. As for the bad review I read, it seems to me they were pretty reckless and inexperienced and shouldnt blame the rental company. It was all about how fast they wanted to hit the water and then got lost even though There are channel markers everywhere.....hmmmmm. So how did they get lost???? Id also like to mention the boat we rented was very clean, well maintained and ran perfectly, no complaints. If you want a nice boating experience on your vacation I think they they do a great job and plan to use them again.

Paradise Boat Rentals has a very professional and friendly staff. I have been an avid boater for over 25 years but had no knowledge of the Florida waters. They gave me a full review with waterway tips and suggestions, places to fish and eat.. We were not rushed one bit, they took as long as I wanted to get familiar with the local waterways etc.. I would recommend them to anyone looking to rent a boat in Florida... Sanibel Island, Captiva and North Captiva are the perfect places for anyone who wants to fish or just sightsee... We saw roughly 50 to 60 dolphins on our trip with this boat, they came within several feet from us.. What an amazing experience.. Thank you again Paradise Boat Rentals... Be very carefull with this company, they withdraw the guarantee of 500 $ on my credit card. They dont respond since two weeks. A complaint has been introduce at me credit card company.

We had a terrible experience with these guys. They gouged us on fuel ($6 per gallon - wow! Beware). They are disorganized and took a long time to return calls. It took a full hour to go through redundant paperwork when they dropped off the machines (in addition to all the paperwork we filled out when we reserved the machines).

The boats seats were dirty and falling apart. This place is way over priced!!!!!! I paid much less renting boats in both Naples and Marco island. If you feel like over paying for a boat that is falling apart go to paradise boat rentals in Cape Coral!!!
