This is billed as a family-friendly gym but its not. Kids are not allowed to do much of anything and the staff claim its for safety and no amount of demonstrated competence can dissuade the staff from rigidly following corporate rules. I keep asking my wife if we can cancel our membership but it appears this is the only option in this area. If someone else opened up a truly family friendly gym in Canton I would change membership in a heartbeat.

A great place to work out for both the young and old. Many exercise classes to fit everyones needs and a huge indoor and out door pool. Best of all, besides the usual gym exercise equipment the Y has an indoor track that you can walk if treadmills are not your thing.

It is very clean and the personnel staff is friendly and courteous. No one is there to embarrass any one else. I highly recommend YMCA.

For anyone who truly wants to be able to make new friends, have a great workout and really feel like they are finally making a difference in their lives... Then the YMCA is the place time achieve it! It not only brings you closer with the community, but helps to create new friendships along with a strong body! What more could you want?

This YMCA seems to have everything and its very clean. Staff is always willing to help you. Indoor heated pool, whirlpool, group exercises from different styles of yoga to water aerobics, group cycle, zumba, kick boxing...All is included in your monthly payment which is very reasonable.They have so much to offer for all ages. Its really a great place for family.

I have been a member here for about a year and a half and have had a number of poor experiences, including female staff members in the mens locker room (multiple times after being told by multiple people they shouldnt be in there while members are changing), events causing parts of the facility to be closed to members, inconvenient hours, and a hard to access and generally poorly kept facility. I canceled my membership today after being told I couldnt use my phone in the hot tub because they didnt want people taking pictures or looking at inappropriate things in the pool area. While Ive dealt with the previous issues due to this being the only decent gym in the area, being treated like a creep is where I draw the line.

Helpful staff always! Good hours for family. Very clean. Have been a member since it opened and my daughter loves the camp at Allatoona. Camp can be pricey, and cannot pay for single days, which is my only issue w the summer camps( when she cannot attend all week).

I enjoy the Group Exercise Classes. The instructors are great. And they have two Peloton bikes!! Friendly staff and environment.

Went in today! On a spare moment thing... not only were the staff super professional and the center was clean & beautiful. But the staff was so welcoming they let me visit and use their center without a problem! I was a member from out of State! But without a Blank, they did not sell to me, over ask questions- they were just pleasant & Let me decide what it was that Me & My Family needed. 100% Client Delightment at its BEST!!! HANDS DOWN!!! *****

I enrolled my son here. I also have a gym membership and it gives us so many activities to do as a family. While he is swimming I go to the gym or take yoga. It has been a great way to connect with my son on a personal level and it teaches him the importance of health. It is such a great place to bring your family.

I have been attending classes, working out, using child care, and swimming at this Y for a few months and absolutely love it. The Y is so much more than just a gym! The pool is clean and well maintained, class offerings are varied and comprehensive, instructors are professional but friendly, and I have really enjoyed getting to know other members and staff. They also organize seasonal events such as the puppy plunge (where dogs can swim the last weekend of the season), blood drives, community service projects, and seasonal festivals for members. And the new spin bikes are amazing! My kids love the child care, too, so I dont feel guilty about leaving them in child care to work out. And once a month they do a parents night out (included in facility membership), so for those of us with multiple kids, the monthly membership is cheaper than a babysitter!

I love this gym. The staff are friendly and helpful, and its nevert crowded. I do wish the Sunday hours could be expanded, but otherwise everything is perfect here.

Overpriced, considering what you get for the membership. The free weight area is tiny and crowded to the point where you can’t even work out some days because there isn’t enough room/equipment. There are plenty of cardio machines, so the “gym” basically forces you to do their classes (I won’t comment on the quality of their instructors. They’re fine, but aren’t conducive to actual weightlifters who know what they’re doing). The outdoor pool is really the only positive this place has, but it’s not worth the membership fee.

Great facilities and better staff

We really enjoyed the lap pool there also swimming with the kids in the swimming pool indoor and outdoor with the waterslides hot tub. I enjoyed going up stairs to the gym working out lifting weights along with running on the treadmills. This is a wonderful, friendly, clean environment.

Love the friendly staff and the facilities are always clean. The park right behind the building is a safe and beautiful place to run or play with the kids.

I just moved into the area and have been to the facility a couple of times. It seems very nice and clean and I look forward to coming back soon!

Staff at the location very nice. Facilities clean. Hard to reach a person if you call them. Only beef is that they invite members to their summer camp on Lake Allatoona to use the SUPs on Fridays. Somebody had the bright idea to put speakers blaring bar music over the lake cove. Ruins the entire experience. Cant have a conversation its so loud. Very unsafe - if you had an emergency nobody could hear somebody call for help. When asked to turn it down they promptly refuse, look at you like you have two heads and invite you to leave... and oh, not without trying to minimize you saying youre the only one that has ever complained... some people ask us to turn it up... (Like staff maybe???). What an immature cheap shot. What part of sunset paddle sends images of loud obnoxious bar music? AND was actually told that they WANT the entire lake to hear it. VERY UNSAFE!!!! If people want to hear music they can bring ear buds. YMCA should call it Staff end of the week party paddle and serve mixed cocktails with little umbrellas. Withdrawing all sponsorship for this camp.

This is the best YMCA (Canton)!. It has many fun exercise classes, it is super clean and the staff is amazing and friendly

I wish they had more Machines but overall I love that I can get rid of my kids for 2 hours.

I gave Mary at the front desk a hard time about their day pass policy and she handled it gracefully. I still think its strange to ask for ID and only offer one day a year free, rather than to have a day pass you can pay for without the Y keeping a copy of your Drivers license.

My first day someone stole 100$ out of my gym bag. Nothing anyone could do but file a claim-no one ever contacted me back.2nd week the pool was closed for over a week. The pool was the reason why we got a membership.Today I tried to move a payment because a family emergency happened and the front desk girl said she was going to transfer me to Pam who could deal with it. Needless to say Pams voicemail did nothing The only people that cared were the young adults who took care of kid zone. I will never use a ymca.
