William McKinley, 25th President of The United States, is honored and laid to rest here inside of this memorial. The monument is of epic proportions, challenging and living up to some of the great monuments Ive seen in our Nations capital. It is absolutely incredible to know there is such a gem right here in Ohio, and moreso, Canton. The surrounding area is a tad rough but the park itself that it sits at the end of (and is named after our President), is very clean and well maintained. There is ample parking right at the base of the memorial, also, at the base youll find The Presidential and science center.I would recommend visiting during operation hours as thatll grant you access to inside the tomb to see the actual crypts, as well as the availability to take an elevator to the interior, if the steps are to much. There is an incredible amount of steps that could be proven to much for the physically impaired. This is a great tribute to honor one of The United States greatest sons, that, I would highly recommend for anyone who has a sense of patriotism or simply love for history.
Within walking distance from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This was okay - it was good exercise, but there wasnt much to see. The crypt wasnt open, so we didnt get to see inside. Theres also the museum which has a 10$ admission fee that includes more info about McKinley, the memorial, and a planetary (I think?) exhibit. There is some parking on-site, and I dont believe there is a fee for that. Overall, Im happy we went, but Im not sure Id go again.
The reason I give it 3 it nice but I live in canton ohio I see it alot
Doing lots of repairs to grave site. Neet grave yard, if you dig it, har har har
The William McKinley Tomb is a great place for sightseeing. Once you’re there you will feel the history and presence of the McKinley family once you step into the tomb. Climbing all 108 steps is a challenge..but once it is accomplished it’s amazing. I would recommend any guest..visitor or permanent resident to visit this place.
Really great place to visit while getting fit. If you are ever in the area this is a great place to visit.
We paid our respect to our 25th President, yet another assassinated, President William McKinley, who died 9/19/1901, 8 days after being shot in the stomach by a crazed anarchist. He is buried here with his beloved wife, Ida, and sadly his 2 young daughters, eldest living to age 4. He is remembered as an above average President the last to be a Civil War Veteran. Once again the American people are outraged as they remember Lincoln (1865) and Garfield (1881). 6 months later the assassin was executed by given 3 jolts of 1,800 volts through electrocution. The warden then had sulfuric acid poured on the body which dissolved the body within 12 hours. Unlike todays punishment.Nearby is and inside President William McKinley Library and Museum including his death shirt, a talking wax President, chair hat, etc. Just so sad his life was taken.Free Admittance to McKinleys Tomb but must pay to enter the Museum. Free, ample parking on site. Kid and Disability Friendly but many steps to walk up to the tomb would be difficult for some.
Well I really learned alot from my 4 year old .I never knew how important he wasThis is a historical site. I love parks but I learn something when I go.it was sad yet learning. I think you will enjoy this at any age.
Very simple but important historical Presidential Museum, this again is what makes America Great.
This is a beautiful park showcasing they monument of one of our fallen Presidents, William McKinley. President McKinley originally practiced law and called Canton, Ohio home thought the late 1800s and early 1900s. The entirety of the complex has some symbology as the entrance and middle grass area, along with the monument itself, form the shape of a sword. People come here frequently to exercise as there are many steps leading to the Monument itself.
Great place to workout. Walk or run the stairs, jog the track.
What an extremely beautiful monument and grounds!
We enjoyed our time there even with the coronavirus going on
Gorgeous building. Its really cool to see where one of our presidents are buried and for it to be so close to home. Enjoyed the time spent honoring President McKinley. (Stairs are definitely a work out!)
One of the absolute best places to hang out for a quick picnic style lunch or for an outdoor workout!
My daughter had pics taken.
The site is nice to look at. To really get true appreciation of this monument you need to do some research then go back and see it again. It Will mean much more to you once you understand what you are looking at. Every thing in the design has a meaning and a reason.
Beautiful and kept clean. A lot of people go to run and climb stairs.
Sacred to me and my family. If I move away from Canton (hopefully soon) this will be one of the only things I miss about this armpit of a city. RIP Willy.
Good for running the stairs and around
Beautiful area to get out snd get some exercise. The monument is very well done.
Truly a wonderful site to see! Lots of trails and parks nearby as well. You can even see the Canton skyline from the top of the memorial.
This is a great place to come and learn about President McKinley and pay your respects to him. The nearby museum is a great place to learn about the history of Canton. For the fitness oriented, the monument stairs are a terrific cardio workout.
Nice area to walk and see the waterfall
Great monument. Nice park setting. Peaceful and quiet for reflecting the past. Great place to stroll or walk. No dogs allowed.
It was very refreshing to see and be in the presents of angles so close to home yet so far away
Canton is rough at times. The youth runs wild and has zero respect. Thisis a cool place to visit during the day.
Just had gotten back yesterday from their firework show for the fourth of July was good but I guess not alot of money went in to the firework show this year. So I guess it was not as elaborate as it probably was in past years.
Stopped by after visiting hall of fame. Not much to see by itself though worth the 5 minut drive as place is beautiful. 10 minutes max time allocation
It was nice. However idiots belittle it by running up and down for there daily workouts. This should be stopped!
Been a favorite of mine since I was a kid to visit and learn about McKinley and enjoy the park
