Very cool place! A throwback to theatres of yesteryear! Clean and totally refurbished! A wonderful place to see a movie, show or presentation!

The venue itself is nice and it has a very cool retro feel. The new Director, on the other hand, not a fan. The Canton Music Shoppe normal holds recitals for students (that are taking music lessons) at the theatre. Its normally smooth, fun, and friendly. This time there were lots of differences (since she took over) and they were not changes for the better.

It was so much fun! I took the kids to a dollar movie Wednesday, July 11th. The historic theater was amazing but, it did fill up quickly. The concession items were all a dollar as well. We had a terrific time.

This is the home of one of the oldest theater companies in the metro Atlanta area, The Cherokee Theater Company. I have seen six shows here from this company and they were excellent! Its not necessary to drive all the way into downtown Atlanta to see great theatrical talent.

This is such a quaint, adorable place. We went to see, Angel Avenue at the end of its run.EVERYONE was personable!Whomever constructed the set did a great job. So many details. The costumes were dated beautifully. The person responsible for the programs gave the background story, which was so helpful. The tech people - lighting, etc, forgive me for not knowing the correct title - those responsible for the changing of day to night and spotlights, were so on point that it was flawless. The actors were amazing. I have no idea how they were able to concentrate so fully being so close to their audience! The characters were well developed! I joked with the leading man after the show by saying, You were so convincing that within 5 minutes, I wanted to punch you in the face!Dont worry, he took it how I intended it. It was a testament to his acting skills. Equal credit to the leading lady. In real life, I would have offered to hide her away from him! The servant women were dead on in everything they did - and such unique characters. You can tell they took their characters and made them their own.The following is NOT, in any way, to take a solitary thing away from any other actor:The person who stole the show was the Detective. The part was tailor made for him. Im 100% convinced thats truly who he IS.So much so that, after the cast came out to meet with all of us after the show, I HAD to wait for him. Just to give him accolades.Yes, that good. There was not an abundance of us at that particular showing, so we were lucky enough to get to talk to all the actors - including the arresting police officers in the show. They were great! I had no idea they were even in the show since one of them held the front door open for me when I first arrived.Sneaky!/laughsThere is a small concession stand. They serve wine, soft drinks, and some snacks - which you can purchase both before the show and during the 15 minute intermission.Nothing was over $2.00.Very reasonable.A section was set up where you could read about each individual actor. Great touch.Theres a guest book and an email list that you can sign up for, for future promotions.I believe they told me that it holds 200 people. Its in the heart of downtown Canton. Its cozy.If youre one to support things locally, DEFINITELY, go at least once. The tickets are reasonable and every now and then, they offer Groupons. They change shows, often, too!If you volunteer they have openings. If youre a patron on the arts they offer memberships.I will never be sorry that I visited this historical landmark.
