This place almost hasnt changed since our gradeschool field trips! Its great to start sharing memories with my son. Lots of history of Stark County and a great educational place for all ages. It was a bit disappointing that many exhibits were unavailable due to covid, but what can we expect. The pendulum apparently is being serviced and hopefully it returns. The crazy laughing lady is still there! All in all a great afternoon place for something to do in Canton Ohio! Cant wait to return probably for a yearly father son adventure.

Exhibits have been around a while but still very neat to see. Great place for kids. I wish there was more on President McKinley. This is actually the Stark County Museum with some exhibits about McKinley. The Memorial next to it is very impressive, however.

We loved it! There was something for everyone. I enjoyed seeing all the historical artifacts, while both myself and my son were totally into all the science in Discovery world. This museum was a gem we didnt even realize was there. We hope to go back soon!

I underestimated the amount of time we needed to picnic at the McKinley Monument. Right away, the kids dashed up those seemingly never ending steps. When I could hear the sounds of labored breathing, I knew they must have reached the top! Setting up for lunch was a breeze, since there were several vacant picnic tables located under the cover of mature trees, right in front of the Presidential Library. The park attracted all sorts of people. There were exercise enthusiasts, families, musicians, lovers, lunch-breakers and even a stylish group of older folks that traversed the steps in sync! My what a sight! I would allow a few more hours, if we visit again.

I was here in May of 2019, passing time before my cousins wedding and I loved this place, especially the Hoover exhibit. I had no idea their Windtunnel vacuums were strong enough to lift a person off the floor.

I live in canton ohio. Because of this I know I take the William McKinley monument for granted. I think the memorial is big. The inside is nice. It was built a century ago. It has the trappings of old charm. Im glad it in my hometown. It really is amazing. I will travel back to where it is once and a while just to.marvel at the monument.

Great place for all ages. I remember coming here as a kid. The museum and planetarium creates hours of fun. See live fish, dinosaurs, a town, a toy train city. Learn about President McKinley and the history of canton. After your down with the museum visit McKinleys grave on the hill or visit the receiving vault in Westlawn Cemetery to see where he was held till construction was complete for his final resting place.

I came here back in the 1970s on a field trip. This is very enjoyable for the whole family. From age 5 - 100, the sides of the steps are a sliding board for any age. I also found a few old photos on the internet, not sure what year the lagoon was filled in, that would be a sight to see today.

Been here SOOOOOOOO many times it’s beautiful and amazing the cemetery is huge and you can get lost very easily if you don’t know where your going and it’s haunted. They have a science center that’s amazingly fun and it has president McKinley there and when you go into the tomb everyone calls it something different I’m just going to use that name for now. But we love to hear the echoing such a fun place to visit and if you need a work out the steps is amazing for that lol

The McKinley Museum is a great place for ages 3-14! The staff is very friendly and can answer questions that you have about the objects you see! They have a hands on science area which is wonderful especially for younger kids! There is also a place in the museum that has many shops, houses, etc that are fun to play in/look in! They have a train set up that you can watch go around the track! This is a good place to visit!

A fun museum to browse, for adults and kids alike. The science and nature portion of the museum is neat, with some cool animals and fun science experiment exhibits. However, the top floor with historical displays is awesome, especially if you’re from the area because of the great attention to local history. The Street of Shops is so much fun to walk through and look around, and feels very immersive. Definitely worth checking out at least once.

Wow! This is better than some of the modern era presidential library/museums. The museum included great displays, very informative stories of his life plus presidency and a very unexpected lovely historical town display. The beautiful, somber mausoleum is a very nice tribute and resting place for a president who lost his life while serving.

A really great place to visit. My grandchildren - age 5 and 7 have a wonderful time - cute, hands on exhibits - and the tour down the old time city was incredibly entertaining for them. Carl - who works there - or perhaps volunteers added so much to the visit- he showed us around - and showed us all sorts of interesting things. This is a nice, small town visit - and really worked out very well.

Nice monument. The library leaves alot to be desired. 90% of the library is devoted to local and county history and only a single large room in the back deals with President McKinley. I was disappointed in the lack of information, artifacts and the staff were less than engaging. The monument is impressive, but could use some weeding and landscaping around the property. As Cantons favorite son one would think that the community would either take better care of the place, or maybe sell it to the national parks system for a much needed upgrade.

I went here with my 2 younger neices and they just loved it. They had several demonstrations throughout the day. It was years since I have been here, so I was just as excited as my neices that have been here over 20 times. There are many exhibits that help tell a story of lots of history here in canton Ohio. They have a swinging pendulum that swings back and fourth and knocks pins over to tell the time. I really enjoyed watching it. They have coat racks to hang your coats up. Where the dinasor exhibit is has live reptiles and birds to enjoy. On Sat and sun there is a planetarium show, which is really informational. The man instructing explains how to locate several different stars while making it fun at the same time. I will be going back this summer and highly recommend this place for a family outing or alone.

Love this Museum! A little bit of history. A little bit of science. Some dinosaurs and a few living critters. Some entertaining hands-on activities for the kiddos. A beautiful monument to our president. Lovely setting. Would have given it 5 stars but the planetarium show was mediocre at best - our show host admitted that they use an inexpensive bulb in their star projector. We could barely see them. However, it is free unlike other museums where you have to pay an additional fee to gaze at the stars - so you get what you pay for. And they could use a cafe. There are vending machines if you need a light snack or a drink. And picnic tables on hand if you want to pack your own. But a place where you could grab a sandwich and coffee would be nice. Still, lots to do and see. Well worth the admission price. The favorite activity for our family... Sliding down the balustrades on the stairs of the monument. Whee!
