Great facilities, swimming and all kinds of sports if you are in.Great chill out place if you are looking for a evening fun time outside. Go for swimming or find a match of your choice to watch. You will be lucky if you can find an official match going around with MIT and some guest team visiting.Practice matches are fun to watch too.

Come here few time each year for kids swimming meets. the pool is beautiful. it can be used for long or short course. for normal meet, the pool is big enough for everyone. For championship meets, it is a little crowded.Accessing the pool is on the 120 Vassar Street Cambridge, MA 02139 - back door where you can park your car at the end of the Vassar Street next to the soccer stadium. The Zesiger Center overall is nice place.

It is probably the best Swimming Pool for swim competitions in Boston area. There are enough space for spectators, huge display for results and convenient place for rewarding of winners.

Great facilities. Lots of machines. The pool is amazing. 4 basketball courts which can convert to other sports such as volleyball too. Changing rooms and showers are also great but take your own lock for the lockers

I loved this sweet gym, very college-gym-esque. Clean equipment, great variety, nice people. This is my new home gym! ️I arrived about 8am, many running machines available... standard precor, the first machine I used was pretty noisy but the second treadmill worked well. The assisted squat rack was available, clean, needed a little bit of maintenance because he bar kept getting caught.Lots of free weights... Lots of fun.Great overall experience!

Wide range of facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. Includes fitness centers, Olympic pool, indoor track (also used for pole vaulting, tennis, etc), squash courts, ice rink (seasonal), high-tech fencing room, gymnastics room, pistol/rifle ranges, wrestling room, golf simulator, and basketball courts (also used for volleyball, badminton, archery, etc).

My daughter had a swim meet here and this is easily the best swimming facility we visited this year. The pool itself is can venous and is a true Olympic size pool. There are plenty of seats and one of the best score boards Ive seen. The one downside is that parking nearby wasnt very easy with many events going on at the same time.

Very poor customer service, and watch their billing. For the amount one is forced to pay (and the membership fee increases are extremely steep) its better to go elsewhere. Luckily I was able to warn co-workers about the increases, and how MIT Recreation are not vey upfront about this after your first year membership converts to monthly. After carefully reading their own contract, they agree, and my coworkers have since also ended their monthly membership on account of this for a better quality gym. Overall, I think this gym is not good value for your money, whether you are part of the MIT community or not, unless you are a student. The locker rooms are also not kept very clean. Ive seen stuff like old towels, old sweatshirts left behind, etc. sitting in an open daily locker for 6 months or more, clearly untouched. Ive had towels that were dirty, and then the people upfront at the desk arguing about this with you. Also I have seen blood spots in the sauna that were not cleaned up for several weeks. Just gross.

I have attended events here multiple times, and every time I was blown away with the physical appearance, as well as the very modern facilities. The pool itself is massive! The various courts are also very nice. I highly recommend making a visit to watch a swim meet or other event.

For the most part a really nice facility with modern equipment. Its very odd that the weight room feels like its an afterthought to such a nice complex though. Also whats the deal with the towel card situation. I get harassed for a towel card when I come in from a bike ride and its not easily accessible. No one is going to steal that itchy scratchy towel.

Vi

Very nice facility, obviously. Its MIT, duh. If they cant engineer a stunning recreation building in very critically limited space, it would be a travesty...thus they HAVE correctly planned the best ergonomically and asthetically pleasing rec building on par with what is known in the swimming world (my purpose there). After spending an inordinate amount of time on cement benches (for a swim meet that seem to last for days vs. hours), it is fine--the building is beautiful, in and of itself. Only Premiere League soccer venues have mastered seating for the masses. MIT could reengineer THIS and put swim venues in a whole new sphere. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, but thats for another day.

This swimming pool is open to public, huge and managed very well. The center has three pools. Teaching pool is warmer than other pools. Competition pool has 10 lanes for every skill levels. Finding a parking place is a little bit challenging though. Street parking is free in the morning until 8 AM.

Many improvements needed. Hours are poor, especially in summer. They refuse to allow use of the most convenient, fully functional entrance, which results in locker room overcrowding. Courts are poorly managed, and planning is difficult, since the court schedule is released only days ahead of time. Gyms overheat and beautiful windows are always covered by blinds. Towels (for cleaning auxillary machines) run out frequently, sometimes throughout the entire weight room at one time (did they forget to do laundry that day?). Good selection of machines, though. Generally nice/helpful staff.

Nice, clean, large pool - 50 meters and no shallow parts, with lifeguards on duty. A $15 day pass gets you a towel and a locker for the day. Bring your own lock.
