Fantastic set of trails you could walk for hours! Includes hilly spots and many loops. They added a new small loop in the center to learn about and see an old spring that supplied the water supply for Broken Arrow with the remains of the spring building from 1911. Lots of birds and other wildlife best seen and heard in the warmer months. The nature center and trails remain hidden at the back of a grouping of elementary schools. if you feel that Google Maps has led you to an elementary school rather than a nature center, dont give up hope. Its there in back!

Great park with a variety of scenery. It’s a very popular place for photography; mainly portraiture. There are always small groups taking family pictures scattered about on the weekends. Fortunately the park is big enough that there is plenty of space to share. There are a couple hot spots that get congested though.

Very disappointed after seeing a Pygmy rattlesnake right on the path while walking with my children and the facility did not care. I totally understand it’s nature but when having young kids it would be comforting to know that they are watching the grounds and caring for the safety of their visitors. They proceeded to tell me that they see them around there all the time and that they allow them to “explore the path”. Unfortunately, as much as we love this place, we will never be back. So sad.

The trails are marked but still easy to get lost. I hiked at night so it may be easier during the day. It was a fun experience though. Cant believe how black it is in the woods next to a housing addition.

I only recently discovered this place, and it is great! Great for a picnic and a walk on the trails. It is well kept, picturesque, and there are several trails as well. I also really appreciate that they don’t charge photographers a fee to take pictures here.

Ray Harral nature Park is small, but is a good family environment. There’s a picnic pavilion, which is nice for groups. The suspension bridge is a great spot for some pictures. But Keep an eye out for potion ivy, oak, and sumac along the edges of the trails.

Definitely a 5 star and a great family fun afternoon activity. This is a FREE activity with nature trails, animal exhibits, and outdoor fun. We had a birthday party there - they rent their back room out for $10 an hour. It was great for all the kids to stay busy and be in and out.

The park is a beautiful and quiet place to walk. The creek bed is full of birds and other small wildlife, the trails are wide and well kept and there are a good amount of dog clean up stations and trash cans (I dont know about you but I hate having to tote a poop bag for four miles). A very nice little hidden gem, if youre a nature person who wants the feeling of being a bit separated from civilization while you walk, this is a good spot to get a few miles in.

I love Ray Harrall! Its a beautiful and clean walk through the woods right in the middle of town. The nature center had some very interesting things to look at and was educational. Throughout the park, there are random structures that are cool to walk up to and check out. I personally dont know what they are, but its fun to speculate. Make sure to go during the day though because there arent any lights that I saw. With all the woods and shrubs, I imagine it gets pretty dark in there at night!

This place is dangerous in regards to it being open for stray dogs to attack people or dogs (which happened to my husband). There isnt a lot of accountability over this area and it just seems like a situation for a perfect storm. We wont be going back here again.

The new nature center is truly amazing at the park. I grew up walking through the trail there but never took the time to go inside. This past Christmas when my niece who is one and a half was here we went for the afternoon and she LOVED the new nature center and all of the hands on activities! I would recommend to anyone looking for a free family fun or interesting afternoon! (They even has bird observatory deck that would be lovely in the spring) she loved getting to pet the animal hides and feeling the soft fur! The statues outside are a blast too for kids to play on!

Small network of trails. Overall trail system runs in a loop. Trails are well maintained and on average run across rolling terrain. There are a couple of pavilions with picnic tables on the trail system. We like to take lunch/dinner with us, eat, then hike a couple of miles (a couple of laps). There is also a small nature center onsite that the kids enjoy visiting.

We were meeting another couple to see if our dogs could get along. The Park was very nicely kept, very clean. The lawn was trimmed so that the grass wasnt too tall and the tree limbs werent overtaking the walking trails yet they still provided plenty of shade and allowed a small breeze in. There were quite a bit more people than I expected for a Monday evening, but I guess thats good for the business. We enjoyed the time here greatly, and if I understood my furbaby correctly, she did as well!

Review №70

This park was very clean and the grounds are taken care of. The walking trail we went on had trees overhead and the limbs were all nicely trimmed and off the ground; there were also no real visible tree roots sticking out to trip you up. There didnt seem to be any residual animal excrement, which was very pleasant. The only thing we didnt really like was that it was pretty busy (crowded) for the time of night, temperature, and time of year it was. It was about 7:45 PM and 97° when we were there, and it was right before school was beginning. Naturally I figured all parents would be focused. Yeah, no. Thats not how it works these days, i guess!
