It is very nice after the do over but if youre ordering drinks you have to stay in the bar. At the lanes you can have a drink IF you buy a food item. Also you cant get a drink with no ice. They fill the glass to the top with ice and then pour the drink over which isnt a whole lot. And sadly as expensive as the drinks were they were heavily watered down. Kids had a great time in the arcade and playing laser tag. I ordered their loaded cheese fries. It was awesome!

Fantastic fun for family, and kids! Odd... Ive never considered having a waiter at a bowling alley, but its awesome! You NEED the pickle chips! Correction, YOU NEED THE SWEET HEAT CHICKEN SANDWICH!

Service was very slow but KELLY and the manager were very sweet and made great effort. Good prices on drinks and food. KACEY(older lady) was working at the bar and gave very poor customer service and seemed very grumpy. It was my first time here and I did not feel welcomed with her negative attitude towards my friends and I.

I would wait until Corona regulations arent as strict. Half the machines are shut down. So theres less ability to play against your friends. Plus some if the great games are off for additional social distancing.

It was a really nice party. We took the laser party package. The only thing we didnt like was that the two hour window wasnt enough time for us to take pictures or play. It was a little too hectic. The food was okay. The pizza was very thin and I dont think the laser games were enough because it was only 3 Rounds. I think they can do better than that. I gave them three star because they are not the worst but not the best either.

$40 for two people bowling with one shoe rental? Kinda pricey. Bar tab? About average all things considered. Average 1.50 per game at the arcade? Pretty standard. $7 per person for a virtual reality game? Seems pricey, but definitely the part that will keep me coming back in the future! They also have lazer tag, which I was interested in but didnt have the chance to try. Overall, a tucked away gem hidden in the middle of Bristol I would HIGHLY recommend! Just as long as you bring enough money to burn.

Love it, the front of desk women was so helpful since it was me and my familys first time, very kind,nice and welcoming. Atmosphere was great we went on a Wednesday during the day witch no one was really there witch was great if you come in with 6 kids.Highly recommend it and prices are very decent for what they offer check them out thumbs

Everytime my son and I go we are treated well. They sanitize as much as they can keep up with on a Saturday night and a real effort is made by staff to wipe the games after each use. Our bowling area is always clean and the balls (bowling) are sanitized and in a separate area from non sanitized balls.

Horrible Experience!! I was supposed to payed 11 dollars for the sun. deal 8pm till close. The lane bartender ladie took forever to bring food and drinks over 15min. Also I was OVERCHARGED 55 dollars and when I called back the Manager Would Not Talk To Me For Several Hours Because Of An Event. Which I Find Very Hard To Believe That She Cant Take 10min to help an overcharged customer... Rude Service From Manager & Employee Is Scared Of Manager

Laser tag, bowling, arcade, and private event area....Wow! Spare time is a great place for anyone to have fun and hang out. They are attached to City Sports grill for some great food as well.(see separate review) The event area looks like an amazing area to have a party and has it’s own private lanes.

Nice place. We went with friends and we really enjoyed a lot. While we were waiting for a free spot in the Bowling we decided to try the laser tag, OMG it was so much fun. I never tried in my life and we enjoyed like kids. After that before to play bowling we played some games and the same it was so fun. The place is recommended to come with kids, family and friends.

The staff was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Had to wait over 2hrs for a lane and for the price to play per game was not worth it at all. I do not recommend this place at all to anyone and will not be going back. If I could I would give it zero stars. I recommend to anyone to go somewhere else to have a better time like crystal bee’s

Bowling is fun for the family food is ok except for portion especially what they call boneless wings was cut up chunks of chicken what equaled out to less than three pieces of tenders and cost $9 not worth the price for food at all

This bowling alley is a great place, not only to go bowling, but for other fun times. I have gone here for other events, such as seeing local bands perform and years ago, they hosted and I attended a Live Lunch Luau with the radio station; WHCN 105.9 (before they were The River). The place is nice and appears to be well maintained.To this day, it is still a nice place to go to have some fun.The staff is friendly and the bowling alley is in a busy, but fairly safe area of Bristol.Perhaps, now that Piccozzi is back on the airwaves in the area (The Whale 120.9), they will have/host another luau in the future...Only time will tell

Hello and good evening Bristol Connecticut. Just stopped in at the Spare Time Bar tonight. Inside the bowling alley. Wow! Full bar, and dinning room, lots of great big screens, hot music, great food, excellent prices, best chili and fries anywhere in town and our servers the very best around. A special shout out to Makela and Kacey and Diane the manager. Regarding others experience that was not like mine “EXCELLENT”. Maybe you went to the wrong place? I am going to be a regular. We made reservations for 4 lanes on NYE for our family after we were advised the package included bowling, shoes, 1 large pizza, 1 pitcher of soda, and party favors/games. When we got there enjoying ourselves and asked when we would receive our pizza we were told the package did not come with pizza and soda. We paid more for our lanes than the earlier times they got pizza and soda and we did not. When I asked for the manager the shift lead went in back and said she left. I asked for her to call me and he said she will call me tomorrow. I advised it would be beneficial for her to have the pizza and soda sent to our lanes as promised to me and my cousin separately and she still refused to call me. Also we were supposed to play games and have prizes which did not happen either. We made the best of our night regardless but definitely did not get what we paid for as advertised!

Came here after I looked up local bars to watch for all at. The website promotes food and drink specials and boasted of many TVs. Sounded perfect. When we arrived no one came to our table to greet us for over 10 minuets. When someone did come over we asked them to change some of the TVs to the games we wanted to watch as all 7 TVs that were visible to us were on the same game. After another 15 minuets a waitress approached to take our drink order and we asked for an update on the TVs of which one had been changed she said no one knew how to change them so we left and found a sports bar that lived up to what they promoted.

Denise their manager is a child running a professional establishment.. most unprofessional experience of my life. will never bring my children, bring any of my business, will never recommend anybody completely disgusted.. Ill be sure to go anywhere but here... You can renovate a million times but a business is only as good as the people that run it..

Great arcade and laser tag!

What an update they did here recently! We loved it before for the bowling/arcade/laser tag.....but now its even newer, fresher, and they havent even finished the restaurant update yet. Its about a 25 minute drive for us, but worth it for the convenience of having everything in one place. At the end of the day, its not always the cheapest few hours, but its a good treat for the kids and us.

We always have a great time at the arcade. Very updated surroundings. Bowling is a fun way to get the whole family together.

Its a simple bowling alley with good service and a bar for drinks. Good if you just want to bowl and not do any of the other mumbo jumbo that new age bowling alleyes have now a days.

With the recent reconstruction and addition to games and even a new virtual reality station for young and old installed the new Spare Time has a upbeat and fire like feel. Wanna bowel in one of the polished and brightened lanes from new lighting then they have that. Feel like you want to run through a laser tag round against friends aiming to be the top then they got you covered. Along with the many games like space invaders connect four and halo and alien coop shooters for thrills this place is your one way stop to enjoyment in Bristol with fellows and strangers alike.

Fun bowling for inexpensive on a Thursday night. Food was good, wings and pizza. Drinks were well made. Grey Goose and cranberry. Wait staff attending us were attentive and considerate. I would definitely go back.

This is the absolute phenomenal place to come to with your children in Or your friends. You can come with your kids and play a bunch of arcade games which you win tickets and can purchase prizes at the end. The tickets are saved to your prepaid card that you purchase to swipe all the arcade games to play the minimum is $20. If you want to continue playing you can go back to the little kiosk and recharge that game card. You use that card when youre all done In the little Prize Room to purchase toys Or candy with the tickets You won that are saved to the card. Laser tag is awesome They have a great course to run through zap everybody. And parents can watch their children inside with them if theyre not playing they can even Watch them from monitors Just outside the course. The bowling alley is great. Many different ball sizes to choose from. There are Many projector screens just above every lane that are playing all different kinds of videos such as music videos or football games or sporting events. And the parking is plenty. Good area as well and staff are nice In my experience.

Spare time is great fun for people of all ages. Seriously they have bowling, laser tag, some VR video games and an entire arcade and bar. With them doing renovations recently, it looks even better. Theyre always running specials too. Go once, and youll set spare time as your go-to family fun night.

If I could give this place zero stars I would! Tonight I was invited by a friend to go to spare time’s event and when we arrived the girl working the table put permanent marker which is very toxic on my hand indicating I was not able to drink. My friend did not have his ID either so they let me in but not him - didn’t make sense. The girl at the table who marked my hand was giving the wrong information, Once Denise, the unprofessional and disrespectful manger comes over and tells me I have to leave because we didn’t have an ID but we already got through because we were stamped. Other than this event, anyone is allowed there without an ID to play arcade games so why was I forced out of a public place? Denise was making a big deal out of nothing when we both look over 21 that she needed an ID from us. Also the beer is watered down and overpriced. I would never come back to this place and I recommend everyone else to go to a different bowling alley if you want a better experience. This event that they hosted was not on time, it was 45 mins late. No one knew the rules or when I asked questioned everyone looked dumbfounded and clueless. Very poor costumer service!

Went to Sparetime Bristol with my wife for Industry night last night and we were extremely suprised with the service and atmosphere. The manager was very accommodating and helpful with getting us a lane and food service was beyond our expectations. The renovated restaurant was beautiful and the drinks we had were delicious. With the event being FREE we were willing to wait because the center was very busy with more 300 people. We will definitely be back to play laser tag and grab a bite at the restaurant.

Their new renovation is pretty cool. When i went it was still in the process and i liked it already. Go check it out. If anything the prices are also worth going

Love this place! Had a wonderful time with my kids ages 6-18! The pizza was very good, staff friendly and accommodating. We were there am when a server wasnt available but t by e bar worker served our pizza and was helpful. The man running laser tag made our experience extra special. He was friendly, outgoing, helpful, deserves recognition. You cant find that in a lot of places!

I never knew this was out there but bowling and arcade together is a really good idea and my children had a lot of fun.

This place is wonderful. Glad I found it! They have laser tag, bowling, and many arcade games. The staff are nice, however they can be a bit inattentive at times. Otherwise, its a lot of fun. Love the half price on Tuesdays. Have been three times and would definitely go again!

TLDR Version - Easy reservation process, good communication with their party coordinator, good food and well organized. Remodeled beautiful and clean facility with very nice bar, restaurant, bowling and arcade. Kids were very happy.We had our daughters birthday party at Spare Time this past weekend (11.9.19). I set up the reservation through their website and was called soon thereafter to confirm.I was contacted a few days before by Callie, their party coordinator, to confirm guest count. We arrived just a few minutes before the party started to find our bowling lanes were ready to go. Our assigned staff member wrangled the kids and got them entered into the bowling system. She got them each shoes and they were able to play for quite a while. Pizza and drinks were served. All the kids really enjoyed the pizza and there was even enough for the parents.After bowling the kids were taken over to laser tag. The staff member took care of returning shoes and even getting them all over to the laser check-in. They all had a great time playing laser tag! After they were each given an arcade card, pre-loaded. Again, they all had fun.The biggest thing for us was not having to worry about anything. Our staff member (wish I remembered her name) had the party down to the minute. It gave us parents the time to catch up with friends and even have a beer (of which the bar had a great selection)! I have been to Spare Time before their remodel and they really did a great job with it. The bar and restaurant are really nice. The video games are all current and in great shape. Laser tag is always such a great time.We would definitely host another party at Spare Time. My daughter is already asking if she can have next years there!
