Wonderful place to shop! The store has a great selection of livestock. The staff is very nice and helpful! They take the time to explain everything and you really do feel cared about as a customer! I always stop by here for my aquarium needs.

Im suspicious of these 5 star reviews. They have a nice selection of dry goods and food but it is pricey. As far as the fish goes, it was depressing. They have them penned up in little dirty tanks that are way too small for the fish. Many of them looked to be nearly dead. Some tanks contained fish that appeared to be dead for some time. Probably the worst Ive seen in a fish store in my 35 years of fish keeping. I actually wanted to buy some just to rescue them. If you do buy fish there, quarantine them. But know that you have no idea the condition of the fish since theyre in spaces too small to swim. I walked out wondering what the heck these other reviewers are seeing. Not going back.

The only thing the Fish Factory needs to be great, is maybe a coat of paint to give the outside entrance some more curb appeal. On the the inside it’s packed with a great selection of aquarium, reptile and pond needs. The staff are particularly knowledgeable and helpful. It’s always great to see a patient person keep a smile when rifled with a hundred questions from a new hobby enthusiast.

UPDATE:I am always happy to be able to provide positive updates so that others are able to find businesses that deserve their patronage. I have now been to the Fish Factory 5 or 6 times. Some things are still true and just the nature of the location/building -- tight spaces, areas can feel cramped with the amount of product stuffed in. The reason for this update and the reason I find myself returning to this store time and again is simple - the staff. Responsive, personable, dedicated. If they say they will reach out to you about new arrivals they actually DO. They create relationships with the customers that walk through their doors which leads to a far more pleasant (and effective) shopping experience for everyone. If youre looking for a local fish store dont judge this book by its cover - go inside, talk with the staff, I think you will find your new first call, first stop fish store. I know I did.

Just stated a planted aquarium and iv been running around looking for plants. I live in New Jersey about an hour from this store. They might be small but packs some really nice stuff. Lauren was so nice and wonderful. She definitely made my experience there to remember. I will be coming back for sure when im ready for fish and when we start on my 55gal project. Thanks for the plants im so excited to plant them!

A dying breed of fish stores. A few years ago, I would have given this 5 stars. The prices were good and the selection was decent back them. I was dismayed to see that one of the frag tanks had been converted to freshwater and the other had red slime algae on the frags. I bought some frags anyway, mainly because I had not visited another store close by. Once I cleaned them upon the polyps are starting to come out more. I cant believe that a reef store would allow red algae to take over their frags like this.The corals are prices by the head and not the frag. Oops, I just saw another head...thats another $15 for the coral.Plus side...they ate one of the last stores to sell live rock. Not the real rock but actual live rock from aquariums. Its about $9 per pound, but some of it is real Figi and Tonga from the 90s. It looked there might be some Florida rock as well.Overall...not bad and not good. Tanks and frags seem to be decreasing in quality. Only 2 people on staff on Saturday to fill orders and help customers.

They have a large variety of dry goods. They also have a lot of fish. However, some of the fish are sick and are not kept in schools and are in little tiny aquariums. The tanks could use a cleaning too.2 weeks ago I checked the place out, and I was looking in the white cloud fish tank, considering buying some. I then noticed a pinkish/red worm-like parasite hanging out of the left gill of one of the white cloud fish. Its head was inside the fish through the gill, the tail was hanging outside of the fish. I could not risk buying a fish here and bringing who knows what into my tank.Honestly I wanted to buy some fish just to rescue them... I saw 2 black skirt tetras there alone and I felt so bad for them.... but I was not going to risk it.

Had a great variety of fish and inverts. There werent a lot of shrimps but was able to get at least 4. I only saw Mystery snails was hoping to get some Nerite snails also but couldnt find them. Will be going back.

Poor customer service, junky over priced

Employees are helpful and knowledgeable but the owner is not a very good person! Spent a decent amount of money there over a few months and he wouldnt let my 7 year old use the bathroom. If it was me I understand but people with kids know when a 7 year has to go they HAVE TO GO. wound up going to hidden reef around corner . Bought 3 coral frags, emerald crab, fish, hermit crabs, new fluval sea light, filter media. Sorry fish factory you lost 352.00 over hidden reef. Oh and coral looked better and was cheaper than the 3 frags I got from fish factory.

Great selection of healthy fish. Many people have negative views on the tank sizes in the one room. I dont think any of these people realize how popular this fish store truly is. The fish get shipped in and are so cool that they really dont stay at the store for long. I agree, it would be a problem IF the fish were stressed or dying from that however THAT IS NOT THE CASE! The fish are content chilling out in their own tank where they can relax after being shipped. Do not let negative reviews due to the tanks turn you away from Fish Factory. You will seriously be missing out on super knowledgable people that are ready to help. They have awesome fish and will even order a certain kind in for you if you ask and they have a place to get it from. The same goes for equipment or tanks! I have been coming for a little over 2 years now and I make the 45 minute drive there every time I need to go to the fish store because I dont trust anywhere else. Every OTHER fish store has lead me to some kind of pest infestation in my tank and Fish Factory is the only place I do not seem to have this issue. Check out Fish Factory!

Love that place and fishes and prices but they need to clean up little bit and give fishes a better environment

A year ago we invested with the Fish Factory in an expensive reef system for my home, and we contracted for their service to maintain it. In 11 months they managed to wipe out my all fish on TWO separate occasions. The first time, Roy the owner, begrudgingly replaced about 20% of the fish. After the most recent round of devastation Roy offered nothing. The customer certainly doesn’t matter here.

This is a pretty cool place. I would say its second best to The Hidden Reef however they have a few speciality items and live stock that no other store has. They have clearance items marked pretty good. You could shuffle around and find a gem. I came in for pre filter sponge and red claw crabs. They were out of crabs however they had plenty of everything thing else. They also have used equipment as well as new. I wonder if they buy equipment? I will have to ask next time however Im new to the hobby and dont plan on selling my new equipment at a loss just yet...Hahaha. Give it a few more months. Lol.

Ive been coming here for about 10 year or more. The owner is a great guy and the fish, coral etc have always done well in my tanks without any problems. I now live in South Jersey but I still come up here for my live stock

Used to LOVE this place. when Don was working there. When I called about a new angel fish that I purchased there within but a few days that looked sick, I had a nice conversation with an employee there. I told him I would give it to the next weekend to hope the angel did better. I have a large tank with some original fish from 7 yrs past. I had to bring the angel back that weekend and was met with the owner. He was gruff and stayed seated for a while as i explained. I was told that in order to bring a fish back, i had to bring in tank water to be tested. This was the FIRST time since going there for several years that I brought anything back. The owner tested the water and said it was ridiculously high with nitrite. i told him it is always on the high side a little in Philly but I have had no problems. He would not refund me all the money, only 1/2 and convinced me to purchase a bottle of chemical to fix my problem. I never used the chemical and purchased 3 angels elsewhere that more than a month later are all well and thriving. I feel his testing in this container that was not rinsed first and placed into a little machine, is flawed. But how i was treated, I will NOT be back.

They have a great selection of saltwater qnd freshwater fish and the prices are pretty good. Ive been going here for over 10 years.

Purchased a leleupi Cichlid from this store.The fish appeared in an ok condition when first purchased. Acclimated this fish as soon as I got home. A week later, I noticed my African cichlids were not acting right. They were beaming themselves into the glass of my fish tank and some were swimming through the currents of my filter. This was a cause for concern. Next thing I know, all of my fish are extremely sick with parasites. I had to treat my fish tank with copper and thankfully most of my fish survived (despite the leleupi who was plagued the most). Never have I experienced this with any other fish store and I’ve been doing this for 30+ years.

Has a look that made me drive past it the first time I was in the area. The second time I ended up regretting not stopping the first time. Plenty of dry goods and a great livestock selection. All fish seemed to be pretty healthy and fat. Coral selection is decent. Will definetly visit whenever I get a chance.

We went to purchase some fish this place had fish but it was very cluttered and disorganized. I feel as though you can go right down the road and get a wide variety of fish and supplies without wondering if you were going to sleep and fall or trip over something.

The fish are kept in the smallest tanks ever where they can hardly swim; some of them its like theyre stuck treading water. The factory name suits it well. Some of the fish are so highly priced that they are probably going to be literally sitting in their tank for a long time

I shopped here for the first time yesterday. Overall great experience! Customer service was hands-on, professional and courteous. They have a wide selection of fish and plants for my pond, will be back in the future. I wish I knew the name of the gentleman who helped me, he clearly enjoyed his work, and was good at his job.

Im a local here, great store with great selection. However just seems like they stopped caring, dead fish here and there, not the best maintenance with tanks. had pests on coral frags. Some fish dont look the healthiest. Only thing i bought and it didnt make it were xenias which is kinda crazy. But this is all stores that you have floaters.

Where they keep the corals, you can see a lot of bad aiptasia and the tank was not looking so clean. This place WAS the place to go for good prices, beautiful salt fish & corals, not anymore. I dont know what happened. I once would walk in here & spend on average $600. If you want to sell your fish, they will purchase them.

This aquarium store the fish factory was usually one of the best places for myself to pick up Fish and live rock and all different kinds of salt water freshwater fishIts been about 8 or 9 months since Ive visited the store. I just returned to store about a week ago It dropped dramatically a fish stock decreased probly by 40% lacking In cleaning The aquarium fresh and salt water. But they still have large selection of supplies, aquariums used and new aquarium setups. pricing, is fair to high pricing .The Employees see very willing to help and also Seam very knowledged in Aquarium hobby and reptile hobby Still a good place for aquarium hobbiest shop.

This is the one fish store around where 95% of employees actually know what theyre talking about. Always so knowledgable and great prices. Stock isnt always available so id say call ahead before you go, they are great at answering the phone too, another fish store first lol. I need some assassin snails and i keep missing them, but they were kind enough to inform me when the next shipment comes. I recently bought 9 lampeye killifish, 2 amano shrimp, and a bunch of cardinal tetras and not one died
