This place is amazing, its a truly peaceful beautiful location, with a friendly staff and the owners on site theyre always accommodating.

If there is heaven on earth, it is at Tarry A While Resort. From the breath taking views to the crisp Maine air this place has it all. Kick back and relax at the quiet private cove or enjoy the large porches and green spaces. Theres even a large social hall with games and puzzles if you get tired of the view (not likely!) What is a great place without great hosts? If you thought the view was something, Dan, Rose, and Donna are something else! Kind and warm hearted and very helpful, they know how to make you feel at home.

Tarry-A-While is phenomenal! The property is incredible and feels like a home away from home. Dan and Roseana and the whole crew make you feel like a member of the family and the service is top notch. You definitely can’t beat the views. I was able to view the new wedding space and it’s a dream. Highly recommend taking a relaxing sit on the porch at Tarry-A-While for your trip to Bridgton!

A great relaxing atmosphere for the entire family! The buildings are old but amazing and they still have most modern amenities. If you are not it a stand alone cottage the Maine building sleeps like a bed a breakfast. Breakfast was amazing every morning and ALL staff was so very friendly and helpful!! Not much to do in the immoderate area. Beach and lake are great and canoes and kayaks are there to use along with life vests. There is a great game building with many forms of entertainment for rainy days. Keep it simple, go relax and enjoy the simpler times.

Beautiful venue, great people, great food.

We went for the lobster bake with our daughter and her fiancee because we wanted to see how the wedding venue was coming along. Let me tell you, it was beyond our expectations! The owners have done a tremendous amount of work to upgrade the inn and grounds. They came right over to us afterwards and told us of the rest of their plans for the property...i can hardly wait for next fall!

The location is perfect with a quiet cove and lovely beach to swim and paddle on. There is a great “social cabin” with pool, ping pong, games and even shuffle board. Donna and her team made us feel welcome and relaxed. My family and I will be back soon!

If I could give Tarry A While tens stars I would. My husband I got married there recently and I would recommend it not only for weddings, but for family vacations as well. Our family and friends were fortunate enough to stay in the cabins and the rooms around the inn and it was spectacular. The rooms are clean and beautiful, the cabins are perfect rustic Maine charm, and the scenery cannot be beat. One of my favorite part was the waterfront, with the variety of chair, paddle boards, kayaks, and dock. Perfect for cooling off on a summer day. If you are looking to get married there, just book it. Dan and Roseana (and staff) were AMAZING, efficient and accommodating going above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. Any request that we had they tried to accommodate. From the rehearsal to the wedding they covered it all and the food was incredible. All of our guest said it was the perfect place to get married and we could not have agreed more!! We can’t wait to return! Thank you for making our stay and our wedding day perfect!

My family has been going here since like the 1900s and there is a bird bath deticated to us and has our last name on it and it is a very nice resort with a game room an inn 4 cabins and a lake and u can get free breakfast staying at the inn I love it great place to vacation in the summer.

My wife and I needed a place to stay while visiting our daughter, husband and grandson near Bridgton Maine. We found this resort on line. What a wonderful discovery. We booked the JENNI HONEYMOON COTTAGE as we wanted a king bed and refrigerator, however they have several other options from a single room in the Main Inn to three bedroom cottages.What makes Tarry A While so delightful is the warm and welcoming staff. Starting with Dan Richards - owner / operator to Donna Cotten - Inn Keeper, and other staff members who are willing to do anything to make your stay a pleasant one. The resort sits on a hill with beautiful views of Highland Lake and the mountains in the distance. A short walk down to the lake through a scenic path takes you to the most relaxing place in the world. (You can also drive down!) Highland Lake is a calm body of water with warm temperatures and plenty of cushioned chase lounges and very comfortable Adirondack Chairs. There are canoes and kayaks available for your use along with life vests (which must be worn at all times). The Jenni Cottage is very comfortable (in a rustic way) and the only shortfall is the tinny shower. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and small fridge. (Note: No cook top.) In addition there are grills at the lake and right outside each cottage for your use. (They will even provide the charcoal and lighter fuel!) They provide fresh towels when you need them, however there is no maid service. The Jenni even has a window AC unit if the humidity gets a little high. The July temperatures Maine are moderate compared to Virginia, however they do have some hot days with higher humidity.Breakfast at the Inn is a feast. (Slight additional charge.) Donna goes a long way to cook anything you might want. Belgium Waffles, Eggs any style, bacon, sausage, great coffee, juices, pastries, and everything in great quantity. Believe me you can not leave hungry and you wont need lunch.Thursday evenings they host a Lobster Bake at the lake and once again you cannot find a better meal. 11/2 pound Lobsters, corn on the cob, salad, desert, everything you might expect from a Lobster Bake! Catering is provided by Lake Region Caterers and they do a fantastic job.My wife and I had such a nice time that we are determined to return next summer, perhaps for two weeks, as my only regret is that we didnt find this wonderful years ago.
