This place is truly a hidden gem. The staff here are so friendly and are so dedicated to not only preserving and expanding this museum, but educating the public about this amazing man. Its refreshing to see such passion for local history. Rufus Porter is a little-known historical figure but should be revered as a great American because of his scientific and artistic contributions to early America. We had an excellent educational experience here and every visitor to Bridgton should stop in to learn about this larger-than-life character and help this museum grow.

Since being moved to the center of Bridgton, this Museum has gained a rightful place as a centerpiece of this 250-year old Town.
