I genuinely believe that this was the first outing I have been on in months that wasnt a limited family gathering, and I couldnt have possibly enjoyed myself more. Despite its size, Beardsley packed a surprising punch with the diversity of its animal exhibits. And between their one-way paths through the zoo, limited number of guests, and other Covid-19 pandemic protocols, the staff has really gone above and beyond to adapt to these current times. So not only enjoyed myself, but felt quite safe thanks to all of their efforts to keep the zoo a pleasant oasis of learning and wonder during what has been an incredibly strange year.

It was a good visit, the zoo is small, but nice for something to do in this Crazy Covid-19 pandemic. Since it is small, and outdoors people kept their distance. My kids loved the tiger by the cafe, she was playing in the water and seemed to be happy and active, the goats were quiet so I told my toddler the goats say baaa.... and the goats all started baaing at me! It was hilarious! They also have very playful prairie dogs that seemed to be doing tricks and wrestling.

Animals looked healthy and well cared for...they were often right up against the cage walls so you could get a good look. Docents at several cages were friendly and informative. Not all animals, displays were open but we saw a tiger, leopard, wolves, monkeys, birds, chickens, gators. Spent about an hour. Social distancing reminders everwhere...and it was easy to keep yr distance. I would recommend.

The animals looked well maintained. It was a small zoo that you should check out if you are in the area. You may want to bring mace with you if you want to buy something at the gift shop because the lady who runs it is VERY unprofessional and mean. Please proceed with caution. Other than her, it was nice to not have a million people packed into one area to look at the animals.

The Beardsley Zoo is a welcome break from nerve-jangling alternatives for childrens outings. It is small and serene, offering parents an opportunity to connect and communicate with their children. The staff at the zoo are friendly and welcoming, in close relation with the animals they keep, and volunteers stroll around with small animals to show and educate young visitors. Also pleasant - it is not geared to empty ones purse. There is a modest gift shop and food available in pleasant surroundings at reasonable prices.

First off this is a COVID review so its not typical for this zoo but wanted to write it since its relevant now. Wanted to take my baby to do something outside during these times and have a change of scenery. Paid 15 a person and baby (kids under 2) was free to get in. To get in now you have to reserve a spot early. There are two time selections a day that you can choose from. With your selection you get up to 3 hours in the zoo but with everything closed you wont really need it. It was nice to get out in the fresh air and walk around but only a handful of animals were out or visible which was disappointing. So if your ultimate goal is to see animals I would wait till this craziness is over. If your just looking for something to do in the present moment and maybe seeing an occasional animal as you walk and enjoy the outdoors and have the extra money to spend and support the zoo then go for it!

This is a small but nice zoo. It is a peaceful place to visit. I would like to see it expand a bit. The food here is ok, which is the 4 instead of 5 rating. They were out of pretzels when we were there, also the small food concession stand closest to the carousel did not have any hot dogs ready at noon. Had to go to the bigger building to get. Not a big deal but nonetheless they should have been ready. Parking can be a bit of a challenge also, but it is free. Al in all a very nice place though.

Not impressed. There were maybe a dozen animals to see, mostly birds. No typical zoo animals like elephants, giraffes, zebras or lions. Most disappointed in the size of the enclosures. Did not see any enrichment for the animals. The staff outside of the prairie dog enclosure was not helpful or knowledgeable. Overall a big disappointment. It took less than one hour to see the entire zoo. A big thumbs down.

Great place to visit. Its just the right size place to cover in about 2 hours. Most of the animals were out to enjoy a 53 degree day. The canteen had good food that is way better than McDonalds. Service was a bit slow but that to be expected for the off season.

Very family friendly zoo! We went to this zoo on the last day of our vacation and it was a very nice zoo. We went on a Friday and heard there were 800 people from various groups there (mostly summer camps). We still had a great time. Animals were out and we loved the peacocks that walked about the zoo freely. Also the tigers were fun and so were the bearded fox. Dont miss the prairie dogs either. They were so cute. Definitely recommend this zoo.

A few of the attractions we wanted to see werent available and it didnt take too long to visit the whole zoo. I wish there was more to do and it was a bit more interactive and fun for the young ones. I would recommend if youre local but not worth going out of your way for.

The Zoo is open, which is great. They have restricted access to a one way path by the outdoor exhibits for safety considerations, which is suitable. However, that really limits the number of exhibits, its a small zoo anyway, so the visit is over in an hour. I enjoyed the prairie dogs, wolves, leopards and tigers.

We had a good time, the tickets are decently priced, and the animals are clearly well taken care of. I was a little disappointed that so many exhibits were closed, I understand the indoor exhibits, but I missed the otters! The timed ticketing worked well, but it was difficult not to fall into clumps of people. The park is supposed to be one way, but there wasnt enough signage or employees to be clear where we needed to go

Review №42

Due to the recent impacts of COVID-19 the zoo requires a face mask and to buy tickets online and only allow 50% capacity. After all of these constraints it was a great experience you dont get the crowds of people but still experience the same feeling of a zoo. Its a bit smaller due to most of the interactive shops and a few exhibits being closed but I do recommend going and stopping by the ice cream shop with the kids was a good break just before you leave. The zoo did what they can and the workers are still more than willing to put in the effort to provide information for the animals.

I would’ve gave this place a five star but I didn’t for the following reasonVisited on July 24th 2020 for my daughter’s birthday we had lots of fun until this very disrespectful worker by the name Kathy who worked at the Tiger’s station disrespected my family while we were passing by her telling us it’s common sense guys social distancing even though we all were wearing masks. She messed up my daughter’s birthday. Also when we went to complain to the manager she continued being rude and verbally attacking us until the manger told her to go away.P.S every worker there but Kathy was extremely nice and helpful.

This is a great zoo if you need a fun, family activity that wont take up your whole day. I would suggest getting there early, as it fills up quick with huge groups that make it less enjoyable. So, get there when it opens and get in before the crowds. Maybe I am just used to going to larger zoos, but a lot of the animal enclosures only had one or two creatures. Not that I expect them to be pact full but when you bring your child over to see the one loan alligator or the one loan eagle, or the one loan wolf. Ha, maybe the rest were just sleeping. Anyways, easy to get too and the price is just right. Its about an hour or two at the most for the whole park.
