I only visit Breakwater off season as its a small beach and I assume would be crowded in summer. Its usually quiet off season. Some families with small children as it is a nice beach and when the tide is out there are plenty of tidal pools to explore. Its a nice (long) walk along the tidal flats at low tide.
Good beach with plenty of parking compared to other local bay-side Brewster beaches. When in low tide, the beach is a bit muddy on low tide when walking away from the main beach area.We can walk to the rocks and find hermit crabs and snails. The kids love exploring the sea life. However when the tide is high, the beach is wonderful and the kids love it and can play with the tiny waves. We will be back !
Great little spot for a beach day. The beach is sort of small and feels like it is kind of community based. The water is shallow (knee deep or below) for about 100 yards or so by the time we got there. The water is clear and there’s lots of wildlife to be seen - minnows, hermit crabs, sand crabs etc. Also there are portopotty stalls, no normal bathrooms.
Absolutely beautiful scenery. I would have given it 5 stars if there were more parking space and a public bathroom
Its quite far from the mains roads and youll have to drive in the neighbourhood to get there. The parking lot is really small. There are portable toilets near the parking lot. A carpet path leads you to the beach. Apparently, the sunsets there are incredible but unfortunately, when I went, it was raining. You can walk a really long distance in the water, its not too deep. Before 4pm, you need to get a permit at the Town Hall to park there.
At low tide you can walk a good mile out. Its an absolutely beautiful place. If you like taking pictures of nature at it finest, youve come to the right place.
Not a big fan of the bay beaches. You need a permit or you can bike or walk in for free. All beaches are free after 4p great spot for a sunset.
Beautiful tide pool beach. Only downfall is parking by permit only until after 4pm. So for someone there for just the day its kind of hassle. Otherwise good times ;)
The beach is sandy and nice to walk on. There are portable bathrooms that were clean while we were there. The parking lot was very small but they also have bicycle stands to lock up your bike, although your bike would probably be ok in this area without. There are small patches of quite large seaweed plants in the water, although they can be avoided.
It’s the closest beach to us. Love to come here for the sunset walk especially on low tide but with a high tide this beach is perfect with kids
Fun to walk during low tide. Good place to view sunset.
It is very clean and well kept
Beautiful, private and comfortable knowing its kepted up.
Cozy little beach that becomes larger than life during low tide and offers beautiful sunsets.
Just Amazing! Just bring some water with you to wash yourself after the beach
Lovely beach. Residents only until 4pm (changed mid summer, so check signs before going).
Breakwater beach is one of the local public beaches in Brewster on Cape Cod. Parking is limited and requires permit. Can get crowded. But a great place to bring the kids and show them the 6 hour cycle of the tides. During low tide the beach extends a long distance. A fun walk for children to find horse shoe and hermit crabs, mollusks and colorful large snails in the beds of sea grass. As the tide rolls in the water forms streams and becomes a vast low water salty pool with a soft sandy bottom. With little waves its the best place to drift in rafts and give the kids swimmies to practice.
Quiet, clean beach, shallow waters. Ideal for young kids.
Beautiful bay beach. Highly recommend going during low tide. You can walk really far out.
Lovely beach
Cute and quiet beach. Clean, but no restrooms, only porta-potties. Parking lot was pretty close to the beach
Very nice last year! Beautiful. Still beautiful but way too many bugs this time!!
Perfect beach to watch the sunset. Low water levels and long walks out to the sea during low tide. Great little gem.
Nice quiet water, small community beach
Just beautiful and serene.
Long time tradition to visit this beach cause at low tide you can walk out on the sand and its great for kids
Love going here ..at low tide can walk out for miles
Grest beach
Sunset at low tide.
Loved it,kids loved it at low tide to look for sea creatures! Best sunset on the Cape!
Parking is sticker only. You can try after 4. Clean and pristine.
Beautiful area. It was a great day to be out.
Love the amazing tidal flats. Fun for the whole family.
The beach is quite nice but there were a lot a biting flies when we were there.
Small, comfortable beach. Low tide was great
Tide is out and the water is warm and the sun is shining!
Great place, no rocks and in low tide you can walk for miles
Absolutely gorgeous!
Very private off season
Beautiful beach
Beautiful
First class spot to relax or walk. Beautiful views across the bay. Great photos.
Unlike whats recommended by some tourist reviews I did not see anything special. Feels like its good only for local folks on a Sunday afternoon. Beach is small and rocky. Parking space is limited. There is only portable bathroom without water. I was disappointed after a long drive to get there.
Love breakwater beach
Lovely beach in a great time to visit before the summer crowds.
Awesome place for young kids, really fun when the tides comes in and out.
Nice bayside retreat. Never too crowded. Decent sand and at low tide you can walk forever.
Our favorite family beach!
Beautiful Bayside beach, lots to do when the tide is low or high...love it!
The incredible Brewster flats.
Our favorite staple at the cape. We like walking out for Miles When the tide is low or swimming when The Tide Is High
Great beach for little ones
We visited just this past week, so we were way outside of the season and nowhere near swimming season, but my family and I still had fun. We walked on the beach every day right around low tide which was around 4:30 PM and it couldnt have been a nicer walk. The beach was clean and the traffic non-existent. I can only imagine how busy this place is during vacation season. Great views, clean water, and soft, white sands. Worth visiting.
A bit crowded and very small. $20 one day parking pass from City Hall is needed if youre a non-resident.
Beautiful
Great local beach
Really nice smaller beach. Wonderful to watch the tide. It would be nice however it would be nice if the town didnt actively discourage out of town visitors. To visit the beach you need a permit, which is fine but you have to drive across town to the town offices. You must purchase with cash or check. If you dont carry cash or want to visit before the offices close youre out of luck. Kiosk and other POS tech is available but they chose to issue tickets instead.
I went on a walk for the first time in years. Things changed so much there. I had a nice walk and found tons of shells. Its a great place for kids.
Great beach. The family and I visit multiple times a year. The parking is better than in the past since the added parking spaces.
One of the best beaches Ive visited. The long sandbars at low tide were a blast for the kids to explore
When people says when the tide goes out you can walk for miles...they are not exaggerating. It was really cool to be able to walk so far but was a little disappointed there was no where to swim at all due to the tide being out. Perfect and fun for younger children.
Its on the bayside, so it is usually quite peaceful there-even in the summer.
Fun stroll. And nice to look at the houses on the coast.
Decent sized beach that was clean and fairly free of rocks. Bayside water is great for small children and a more relaxing water experience. Just be on the lookout for high and low tide times (applies for any beaches on the bay side).
Finn and pretty view
Wonderful place. Beautiful view of the Bay. Very crowded in-season.
Beautiful place, lots of wildlife and nice beach with extreme high and low tidessmaller parking lot and no restrooms
Great for kids. Get parking sticker at Town Hall 1 mile down road and get there early as parking is limited. When the tide goes out in afternoon you can walk what seems to be a mile out.
Best place on the Cape to watch the sun set.
Always a willing subject
The low tide was fun. Lots of fun crab hunting.
Hidden gem. Really small beach but perfect for kids to explore at low tide and find tidal sea life.
No sea turtles
Good sunset but you can only see it if you walk out on the flat at low tide
Awesome sunsets
Great beach with access to Brewster flats. The parking lot is the second largest in Brewster after Crosby landing.
Lovely sunset Beach
Beautiful beach
Bring something to wash your feet after walking out at low tide!
Amazing! Words really cant describe this unique tidal phenomenon.
Best beach in Brewester
Dirty beach. Go to admirer beach quick is near by and very good. But very limited parking.
Very nice small beach. Go during high tide if you want to swim.
Small yet pretty beach. Needless parking hassles hurt our experience. Petty, small town, small minded, inefficient bureaucracy at its worst.
Beautiful place to catch the sunset at low tide.
Breathtaking views you can walk for miles at low tide
I love the sunsets, the rocks and the flats that seem to stretch for miles!
