I enjoy Nickerson State Park mostly because of the crystal clear ponds. You can see grains of sand through 4+ feet of the water. Also having beach access is the best of both worlds! On low tide you can walk for what seem a good half mile to the water. Great for young children. Being located in the middle of Cape Cod is super convenient for all the Cape has to offer. The park is clean, no trash laying around. The bathrooms are acceptably clean. The shower stalls were clean, but the mixer valve in the stall I used, did not mix any cold water in it, so I had a scoldingly hot shower! The staff was friendly. Having the Cape Cod Rail Trail connected to the front of the park is an awesome feature, especially if you have small children. Nice flat trails. The parks bike trails in comparison can be treacherous for inexperienced bicyclists, as the trails are hilly and can have sharp turns at the bottom of some of those hills. There are dishwashing stations in the front of some of the bathrooms in the park, Area 1 bathroom did not. Thankfully I remembered to bring my dishwashing basins. All in all, Nickerson is a great State Park in an Awesome location!!!

This park is our new favorite getaway! The pond is so nice. The campground is clean and well kept. Our site had a path right down to the pond. The spots are nicely spread out and private. Great location being minutes to great beaches and restaurants. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

We stayed in area 4 (areas 6 and 7 are closed due to Covid-19). The description said it was a gravel site with full shade. However, when we arrived in our RV, we found the exact opposite. It was in full sun and sandy. Other than that, there are several nice pond with hiking trails all around. We also had our bikes and were able to ride to the other camping areas to scope them out. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

First time, I came here, I hated it. We came in bikes off the rail trail and got lost. The parks bike paths were full of hills. I havent rode a bike in the last 5 yrs. The second time, we drove around and found all these beautiful beaches! Definitely would recommend for a camping trip or a day at the beach. The ponds are more warmer than the beach

Great stop for all of your outdoor joys and needs. Ponds are crystal clear and lovely for swimming. The bike trails through the lush pines will bathe you in all the lovely scents of nature. Be up for a challenge though, if you plan to bike the park--the hills are intense! Pull off the rail trail for a jump in a pond to cool off, its such a treat!

The clear water ponds are beautiful and large. Perfect for swimming, kayaking, or fishing. Like to camp? Make a reservation, its a popular place. Roads are paved, as is a bike trail through the woods. Dogs are allowed! I visit there year round for walks and forest enjoyment. Once you are 65 and a Mass resident, you can buy a pass for day visiting very inexpensively.

Great park to go the lake. We come here everytime we go to Cape Cod. For Mass license plates it is relatively inexpensive, but for out of state plates it gets on the pricey side. But still a nice park that is well kept. You can also rent boats to go on the lakes which is always a good experience

They discrimanate people from other states and charge almost 3X camping fee from other states.Camping is $22/night for Massachusetts residents and $70/night for non-residents.Why dont they just say people from other states are not welcome to camp there. $70 a night this is rip off and un-heard of. One of our favorite places to camp in the Northeast! Wonderful swimming, boating, biking, beaching!! Takes a little effort to figure out which sites have or are near pond access as they do not show it well on the map. We love the super beautiful and private beach at Area 7. Just a short hike (5-7m) through the woods from the campsite area.

This is my favorite place to go camping on the Cape.Big sites with space between them so you really feel like you have some room to unfurl with your friends and family.Fire pits allow for campfire cooking and the camp store sells firewood. The best part are the ponds and beaches though. Higgins and Little Cliff are my personal favorites although this can change is water levels rise from flooding or there is abundant algae growth. If you snorkel, there are fish, turtles and frogs or tadpoles to see depending on the time of year you visit.

Beautiful. Great views from high up on a bluff. We watched waves come in, and seals Bob in and out for hours in the winds a top the bluff. We could see for a great distance. There were two passage ways down to the beach. One was by the bathrooms and had a handicap roll floor out. This was wonderful for the disabled and seniors. However, sadly, it did not go very far. So, this group of visitors are unable to actually get to the beach, but can enjoy the view from the top of the bluff.

Fantastic staff and a really great park. The staff are really helpful and some of the nicest people. Unfortunately theyre understaffed and have no authority to do anything.Sadly thats where it ends. This place is flat out overrun with off leash dogs. Dozens of them. Not a day went by when we didnt have a dog wander through our campsite, walk by, lunge at my dog, or actually have a pit bull attack me and I had to beat it off with a stainless water bottle (resulting in the cops showing up). The owner actually blamed me for yelling at his pit bull for getting within feet of my sleeping baby. This was supposed to be a relaxing family trip with my wife, infant, and Lab.Instead it turned into a non-stop ordeal of barking dogs, screaming infants, and dog attacks where I had to be on high alert at all times. I started carrying a knife and keeping bear spray on the picnic table at all times. If you have small children, babies, or dogs, dont stay here.
