I have been looking forward to coming here for sometime now. The museum was beautifully set up but the art style was not for me. It seemed very detached and uneventful. The guest artist however was stunning. The Arboretum was not well kept and the signage was very poor. I had to bend and sometimes dig for signs that were not even there or so worn and small I struggled to read them. There is a map available but really and truly no clear paths can be found except a few scattered here and there So I wandered about aimlessly feeling that I missed alot. The staff were working very hard on things but didnt seem to be fazed by trip hazards or unsightly piles of brush laying about. It seems it needs a new caretaker that is devoted and knowledgeable about the environment. Many of the plants were not trimmed or not in an area beneficial to their needs. With so much potential it greatly upset me to see so many beautiful specimens neglected. Yes many were flourishing but it seems the newer additions were not. I feel more people would love to pay the place a visit if it were taken better care of.

One of Bowling Greens secret gems (I want to say garden). Donation only admission. There is a well displayed art museum and wonderful gardens. You can wander through and enjoy various sitting locations and hidden sculptures. Well tagged plants. As with all gardens, it changes year round, so be sure to visit at least once a season

Very nice hidden gem of an art gallery and arboretum just outside of Bowling Green. Free to the public and dog friendly on the grounds. Worth a trip. They do periodic walks and talks about the things that are in bloom at the moment. Plenty of parking and trails.

Attending the Meditation @ the Museum this morning. The grounds of the Arboretum are beautiful and very well done. The Museum is dedicated to the paintings and sculptures of Joe Downing. I recommend that everyone who has the chance, stop by and walk in the woods and stroll through the museum.

This is a great place to walk and see nature in the ruff. Wear good tennis shoes, and tick protection. There are nice paved trails to walk on. Avoid rainy days as there is no shelters. The views from the trails are uplifting and provide good photo backdrops. Enjoy!

Very pretty grounds. They have a good variety or trees and plants to see. The art museum was really interesting. I lived in this area most of my life and never heard of Joe Downing until recently. So I think this is a good way to celebrate a great local artist, and give him the exposure that he deserves.

Not only does this have well taken care of lovely, identified shrubs and trees, but it has a small art museum that allows views on all sides to artful landscaping. Beyond the landscaped area are acres of open fields with paved paths to just enjoy a walk away from the bustle. This is a place I want to come back to often.

It is a nice place but they have a large focus on evergreens which are not my favorite. The art museum is not my kind of art either. However I dont wish that I had my 30 minutes back that I spent there.
