The trail is nice and beautiful, but getting to parking will be tough without 4x4. Road is narrow, so expect a few brush scratches on your full size pickup. There looks to be a small and abandoned homeless camp back in the trees by the creek and trail head. Hunting is allowed in the area also, so beware and be safe.

This trail offers a Beautiful, peaceful place to be. I love seeing all the trees, wild flowers, smelling the fresh clean aroma of mother nature. Enjoying the sunset. Elephant Rock is a great look out point and a perfect place to hike into for a good 3 miles. Round trip is about 6 miles! Worth it! Watch out for mountain bikers thats the main concern for both hikers and bikers sharing the trail.

Great day use area. The hosts onsite are super friendly. Well kept grounds and bathrooms. Sites are great for campfire cooking and enjoying the shade. The creek that runs through provides nice ambient sounds of nature amongst the heavily shaded canyon.

Ive loved this park forever... Absolutely beautiful. The windstorm did not affect it as bad as I thought it would have. The restrooms are always clean. The picnic areas are well maintained and clean with firepits. It is national forest so there is a fee. But well worth visiting there are also plenty of trails to hike there are many great places for photos and weddings.

We held a family picnic at sites 9 and 10. The place was 91 degrees, 7 less than the 100 degrees registered as we got off the I-15 freeway. The host has free firewood, which was appreciated. The streamflow was low so was a perfect, safe place for our grandkids to play. We located two geocaches within walking distance too. We will be back. This is a great location.

I enjoyed this picnic area. Its only about a 30 minute drive from home (instead of an hour or more to other sites), its pretty, its by a river. But the best part about it was the people who work there. They are the nicest people! It really makes a difference to interact with people who are genuinely kind.

Easy 7.3 mile out and back trail. Wide and well maintained. Popular with mountain bikes who arent courteous and expect the hikers to always get out of their way. Overall a nice hike except for the pushy mountain bikes. Maybe everyone could start following the party going up hill has the right of way rule.

Great place to take the family for a picnic and go for a hike afterwards. Lots of beautiful scenery and great spots for picnic tables. They have single tables, double tables and large group sites. There is even a sand volleyball pit and a horse shoe pit, just make sure to bring your own gear. The bathrooms have running water in the sinks and flushing toilets and are kept really clean.

People have a tenancy to confuse Mueller park picnic area with the trail to elephant rock (which is awesome by the way). The picnic area is one of the worst Ive been to. The forest service contractor that runs the place is grouchy, and the picnic spaces have been in disrepair for years now. If you read the reviews you will see most of the high ratings come from people using the trails, not the picnic spaces. As a kid I remember playing on great playground, playing volleyball, and tossing frisbees on the large fields of grass. I wouldnt let my kids on the playground that remains, and the open spaces have been converted to unmaintained medows.

I love going biking at Mueller Park. Its a challenging trail going uphill, but totally worth it. Usually gets crowded during sunny days, people on bikes, people hiking with dogs or people running. Watch out on corners! Beautiful from Big Rock to look down at the Great Salt Lake and surroundings. I would choose the sunset time to go up there. Grab some water with you!

Short drive from Bountiful to this beautiful wooded area with a river, bridge, picnic tables and hiking trails. You can park for free on the street before the fee area and walk in for $6 or park in the national forest lots for $9 per car. There is some construction going on right now. Call or check the website before going.

They really fixed up this place to bad its for day use only. The cost also seemed a bit high for a four hour block. $6 a person and $8 per vehicle not including a few if you use a sight which ranged from $30 to $90 dollars. The camp host was MIA so no one to ask questions to. The shade was adequate and the atmosphere was peaceful the sights were spaced far enough apart so that you didnt deal with others to much. Overall it was ok. You get what you pay for.

Beautiful trail. However I will most likely not visit again. The park itself is a pay by day. Although its a national forest. Public land. The host (more like prison guard) was extremely rude and threatned to call the police for us asking why a public park costs money. I do not reccomend the picnic park area. At all.

Really amazing trail for a quick hike or a longer run. This is the perfect place for snowshoeing, hiking, biking, marathon training, and lounging with friends. Its also a great spot for elevation raining because the switch backs help level you out as you go.There is a great creek that runs just off the parking lot that you can relax near and some seating areas to take advantage of too. There are trail courtesy signs around, so most people out for a little recreation are very considerate when sharing the trails.

Nice park and picnic area with trail heads to some good trails. Used to be wildly popular but less so now that they charge an entry fee. Note that the entry fee is not assessed if you are walking in and only using the trails. However, parking outside the fee area is very limited and most people have to park on the street and walk in, which adds as much as half a mile to the walk.

This USED to be an AWESOME place to picnic with the family. It seemed like a HAPPENING place, the beauty of nature... Our family enjoyed to take the scouts there for Den and Pack meetings and learn of conservation skills. We have not been back after the campground hosts needled us for money to the point that I wondered what was up - then when he yelled at us, we have not been back. I hope they got BETTER people to look after the place. It was very dear to us in the past.please be aware if you go there.

This has always been a incredibly gorgeous landscape to spend my time in. The picnic area is so fun to host gatherings in, and the hikes are nice because there are tons of trees to shade the sun.
