Anxious to see a movie, I went post covid shutdown. It felt a little cleaner but the same crusty attitudes of the crew. You would think they could find nicer people who like their jobs. NOPE! Also...no cash accepted - WHAT A HASSLE. Want concessions bring your own or stand in line again to buy a GC to buy Pop Corn unless you bring your credit card. Not many people in the theatre was a bonus - lots of social distance but cant imagine this place will stay alive...

I go to the movies here about once a week on average. The staff is pretty good. Occasionally the ticket checker is a bit judgmental but I dont think he intends any real harm. Plenty of showings for popular recent releases. The places is fairly clean (bathrooms included) and rarely packed. Large variety in snacks including meal options. Popcorn is pretty good with or without butter option. Soda machines are always well calibrated and the syrups are stocked. Assigned seating for all cinemas. Ticket prices seem fair and food prices are about what you expect at the movies. Cinema volume and picture are good. Seats are comfortable.I should note they have a pretty aggressive bag policy. I have seen people a little disappointed by not being able to bring in large purses or backpacks (hasnt been a problem for myself).

I enjoyed my time at the century theater. I thought that it was clean and we were able to quickly get assigned our seats for the movie. The staff were able to see to the needs of their customers relatively quickly, however there did seem to be some problems of communication. Several times patrons were looking for a staff member at one of the concession bars who was missing.

This is a pretty straightforward movie multiplex which is clean and well run. They do screen a number of films other than the super-mega-ultra-ho-hum-blockbusters which is very nice. They also offer some discounted showings although it seems you may need to join their loyalty program to enjoy these in the future. Only issue is that parking is often a problem, even in the early afternoon and even though the theater is adjacent to a parking structure. (There may be some sort of commuter cheater parking issue that the shopping mall cant get on top of.)

30 minutes of previews and the sound is far louder than it needs to be. The volume level was well into the 95 db range. At that point it can cause hearing damage after just 30 minutes. The 30 minutes of previews were particularly loud as previews tend to be, with lots of intense sound effect and music. If you value your hearing and dont want to live with tinnitus for the rest of your life you should bring ear plugs or try somewhere else. They could easily bring it down to the 85-90 db range and it would be plenty loud. I would be really wary of bringing children here.

2 stars is a generous rating and all because of the 30 minutes (!!!) of previews and commercials before the movie. Getting tickets? Great. Snacks in theater? A little wait, but not bad. Movie? A little loud but otherwise ok. But I dont pay $12 or $15 a person to watch 30 minutes of previews, half of which are commercials already on tv. What happened to the 5-10 minutes of unreleased trailers that used to be? Im generally a patient person, so keep this up and Ill exchange your theater tickets for a $3 in home rental where Im much more comfortable anyway. And I can have my kitties, and pause it when I want, and not have to watch a single commercial the whole time.

I was glad that they showed My Hero Academia in the Boulder area. Just having access to that movie was really great and the whole process of buying the tickets in advance was smooth, easy, and exactly as Id expected. I didnt like the headrest on my seat in the theater it was shown in, however, as I have a neck problem that has a real problem with headrests that push my head forward and in front of my shoulders, plus, my seat didnt recline nearly as much as my husbands did. Small things, in the scheme of things. But it did detract from my enjoyment of the movie.

Im not a Boulder local, but decided to take in an afternoon movie. I walked nearly 2 miles to the theater, and they wouldnt let me in with my bag. They didnt care. They wouldnt let me leave my bag at the ticket window, and said that searching the bag (for whatever) was not allowed. It was my first time at this theater this past weekend. I went to see an independent film. I could not believe the amount of obnoxious people. First, the guy who made my coffee had no idea what the hell he was doing. It was undrinkable. Gave some girl a free coffee while we were waiting for our paid drinks. The manager didnt care. The guy behind me (at least 60 years old by the way as was most of the crowd for this movie), kept kicking the seat and putting his sandled feet up between me and my husband. I couldnt believe it. I witnessed a disgusting display of racial profiling last night by the staff at this theater. My friend and I, both white women, were leaving the theater after seeing a movie, and we saw a black woman arguing with a white male employee. Apparently she’d been denied entry because of the backpack she was wearing. The bag my friend had brought in was literally twice the size of the bag the woman was being told would prohibit her from entering the theater. We spoke to the manager, Jacob. “Look at the bag we were let in with. Why did she get stopped and not us?” All he kept saying, over and over, was “We have a bag policy – we don’t let anyone in with large bags.” Despite the fact that this was clearly untrue, based on our massive bag, he kept saying it. He seemed to not really care about the situation at all.We left the theater, got a couple blocks away, then, feeling like we should have done more, turned around and went back. As we approached for the second time, we saw the woman who’d been denied entry in front of the theater, having just hidden her backpack in a nearby bush so she could go in and see the movie. We talked to her for a moment and told her we were horrified at what we’d seen and that we planned on getting contact info for upper management. She decided to come in with us, so she retrieved her bag, and the three of us went to the front desk.On our way in, two white people walked out of the theater, both wearing backpacks larger than our companion’s. We asked them if they’d just seen a movie, and if they’d been let in with their bags. “They asked us some questions and then let us in with them,” they replied. Our companion had not been granted the courtesy of questions – she had been outright denied entry, despite the fact that her bag was smaller.Several employees, all white, gathered around while we explained why what we’d seen was NOT okay. One of them was the employee who’d denied the woman entry due to her bag. He apologized…to US. To the white women, not the woman of color who’d been discriminated against. He wouldn’t even LOOK at her. From that point, things escalated. The manager we’d spoken to before, Jacob, came to the front desk and proceeded to give us his personal guarantee that this incident had nothing to do with racial profiling. The whole time, he still kept insisting that they don’t allow entry to anyone with a large bag, and he kept smiling and shaking his head, as though he found the whole thing amusing and we were just being ridiculous. He said the only way anyone can get in with a large bag is if it’s for medical purposes. Our companion then told him she’s diabetic and had insulin in her bag, but when she invited him to search the bag to see for himself, he refused and still maintained that she couldn’t bring the bag into the theater.Another manager at the front desk, whose name we didn’t get, seemed to be a bit more understanding about the situation – until he interrupted what we were saying and asked, harshly and with a raised voice, “Can you please stop saying WHITE PEOPLE??” As though THAT was the problem. The whole situation was handled SO poorly. Not one of the employees even CONSIDERED the possibility that unconscious bias was driving the situation. I understand having a bag policy, but it must be enforced equally, or not at all. There were white people with large bags EVERYWHERE, and the woman of color was the only one who was being hassled about her much smaller backpack. This whole experience was incredibly disheartening. Not a single one of the staff members even acknowledged the possibility that racial bias could have been at play. They were all adamant that there was DEFINITELY, ABSOLUTELY no discrimination taking place – despite lots and lots of evidence to the contrary, right under their noses.Ill never spend another cent at this theater, and I suggest you dont either.

The usher now stands to the left of the box office so they can see you trying to stuff the outside drinks and snacks into any loose fold of clothing. Dont take bags or backpacks because they will be searched as that is now their policy. While my female cohorts entered unfazed with bags and backpacks I had to frantically find a place to put my stuff, the staff wouldnt even hold my backpack for me. I then gave it to my girlfriend who AGAIN entered unmolested with a bag.I guess being a big dude with a bag is verboten in their policy, after all our large stature ensures that we can smuggle more contraband than a lady in the same bag (it has something to do with our height folding dimensions). The movie was fun though.

Wow...what an incredibly disappointing evening! I was excited to see A Star is Born for its reprise in theaters and had blocked out my evening to do so. I biked to the theater (I do not own a car) and had a backpack with me with my gloves, hat, wallet, phone, etc. Upon speaking to the cashier, I was flatly told that I could not bring my bag inside the theater and that there was nowhere for me to store it.I asked to speak the manager. He, quite coldly, pointed straight to the sign behind him indicating there is a corporate policy against large purses and backpacks. Robotically, he told me there was nothing that could be done. I asked for a refund and a free ticket to compensate for the time lost in travel. He denied me quite coldly. Having worked in hospitality, there was NO empathy, concern, or willingness to make things right.Century Theaters, you have lost a customer for life trying to save revenue on people bringing in Sour Patch Kids. Is this worth it? Probably not given the disruptive technology occurring making movie theaters a thing of the past. Rather than treat your customers with respect, I was given the cold shoulder. I will be sure to tell my friends about this experience and will not return to your business establishment.I will see A Star is Born on streaming service in the near future. Additionally, this policy discriminates against transit riders and cyclists. Where am I supposed to put my bag? Outside on the street? I will be following up with senior management.

I got my ticket refunded, but was not apologized to, but treated like I did something wrong. If you are going to implement a bag policy, provide a place to put large bags that do not fit this policy. Now, I wasted an afternoon, and was not even apologized to for wasting my time.
