I love going to Haymarket. I want to answer some questions I often get.The outdoor market (the real Haymarket) is open Fridays and Saturdays 6am to 7 pm. The vendors can set up and leave when they wish though, so I would recommend going between maybe 11am and 5pm.Animals are allowed, as it is outdoors. It is very crowded and cramped, so Id recommend only bringing well trained animals.Friday, youll have the best pick of produce, but Saturday youll get even better deals because they want to sell out. Even on Friday though, you can get really great deals. I got the produce in the photo for $8.50.A note about covid precautions:They are having vendors wear gloves and customers cant touch the produce. Customers must wear masks. Make sure to wash your produce and your hands.

I love and now because everything has a line so no one can touch the fruit. They get their fruit for you so no one is.signs everywhere saying wash your food when you get home do not touch any of the produce let them do it ECT. And theres only a few tents set up a hundred so its easier to get through without to touching people.

The O.G. of Bostons green marketplaces. Haymarket can be nerve-racking, but youre gonna learn and appreciate a lesson every time. If you want to linger through a fancy marketplace with polite produce sellers and lovely aromas, go to Copley or somewhere else... Haymarket has an antithetical charm of its own.

Great place to get your produce cheap for the week. Lots of options for great prices, I go every weekend and get a weeks worth of veggies and fish. Last week I was able to get 2 pounds of fresh haddock, two things of raspberries, blackberries, a pound of potatos, broccoli and some really good cheeses for all under $20. Such a great way to start the week. The market happens every Friday and Saturday from around noon to four I believe. Id recommend you to bring bags unless they will be giving you plastic bags which you may want to avoid. My diets protein is based off fish so I love the money I save here. Ive gotten fresh salmon for as low as $4 a lb, if you get a few lbs you can haggle down your price. Best is the fresh tuna stakes you can get for around $3 a pound! And swordfish for the same! Such variety in the food I can afford now. When I go to the grocery store I just end up buying bags of frozen fish that cost much more then the fresh fish Im getting here. I will tend to buy it then freeze it into portions for the week or for a few weeks. Saves me a lot sense the more you get the cheaper you can get it for.

The best place to get fresh produce. Fridays and Saturday morning are the best times to go. After that you are probably going to have to search for the good stuff but its not impossible. They have everything from fresh herbs to several types of fish, oysters and clams. You will save half your money going here compared to the supermarket. Shop here you wont be sorry at all

On Friday and Saturday you will find an open farmers market where it is the place to find groceries for your week. What happens is that they sell the fresh produce that didnt end up going to star market, or whole foods or trader joes at more wholesale prices. You can pick and choose what products you want and it is honestly the best way to save money in the city. Personally spending between $5 to 15 is enough to feed 2 people with occasional dinner guests over the week. Mind that amount of produce would be between 50 to 100 dollars elsewhere.

Fantastic deals supporting local farmers! Be careful with what you pick out because if you dont know what youre looking for it can go bad quickly, but its never a problem if you use it quickly!! Its the same as the food in your fridge you move to the front to make sure you use it next!Ive also gotten really great stuff that lasts a long time too. Kale, broccoli, mangoes have lasted over a week and spaghetti squash has lasted months.Keeping in mind how great the deals are, its worth a little diligence when picking things out. Its fun!

This is the best place in Boston to pick up fresh fruit and vegetables on Friday or Saturday. The prices are some of the best in the area. Make sure you check to make sure your purchase is ALL good quality as sometimes a less than perfect item will be included in your purchase. If you are a frequent visitor to the market, find a vendor you like, get to know them, buy from them often and they will make sure you always get the highest quality produce.
